In 1275, the traveler and merchant Marco Polo would be introduced to Kublai Khan of the Yuan Dynasty and his royal court.
Left to right.
Jingim. The favorite son and heir of Kublai Khan and his wife Chabi. Jingim would be tutored by Chinese scholars, which would influence his views on Confucianism. He would for all intents and purposes be more Chinese than Mongol culturally.
Kokejin Khatun. The favorite wife of Jingim and mother to his children Gammala, Darmabala, and Temur, the last of which would become Khan of the Mongol Empire. Other than that, not much is really known about her.
Temur. The third child of Jingim and Kokejin, little would he know in his youth that he would become Kublai Khans successor. He would also be the last Khan to be recognized by the other Mongol Khanates as the Great Khan.
Empress Chabi. Kublai Khans most devoted and favorite wife, despite being his second wife. She would promote Buddhism within the Yuan Dynasty and appeal to the majority Chinese subjects by promoting Confucianism.
Kublai Khan. The grandson of Genghis Khan, he would come to power through a civil war against his brother Ariq. While victorious, the Mongol Empire would still be divided between four Khanates of the Golden Horde, Ilkhanate, Chagatai Khanate and Kublai's realm. Kublai would rule Mongolia, Tibet, Siberia, and Northern China and consolidate it under the Yuan Dynasty. He would later conquer the Song Dynasty in 1276, uniting all of China, and would be seen as the great Khan by the other Khanates. He would embrace Chinese culture and was a devout Buddhist. However, this would alienate many Mongols in his court as he was seen as "soft", which is extremely ironic given his life circumstances.
Uriyangkhadai. The son of Genghis Khans greatest general Subutai, he would be Kublai's greatest general. He play an essential role in the conquest of the Song Dynasty in Southern China that would unify China for the first time under foreign rule.
Marco Polo. The Venetian traveler who would visit Kublai Khan's court. Kublai was impressed by his intelligence and humility, so he would make him his foreign emissary. This allowed Polo to travel throughout the Yuan Dynasty where he would travel throughout it for 17 years and later write about it.
Ahmad Fanakati. The finance minister of the Yuan Dynasty, Ahmad was a Persian Muslim who set up the financial system of the Yuan Dynasty. He would bring a huge amount of tax revenue for the new Yuan Dynasty. However, he was also extremely corrupt and was known for his rapaciousness.

My little LEGO vignette of the medieval Old Town of Regensburg, Germany, a UNESCO World Heritage site. I built this for the 12x12 category of Brickscalibur inspired by a recent trip to the city. It is akin to a skyline model but in a more crammed 2-dimensional layout. Thus it's not an actual reproduction of the city's layout rather than an agglomeration of various points of interest, specifically:
• The Old Town Hall with its high tower and the adjacent Imperial Diet Hall where the Imperial Diet of the Holy Roman Empire assembled.
• St. Peter's Cathedral as one of the most significant Gothic cathedrals in Germany.
• The Baroque Justitia Fountain bearing a sculpture of Lady Justice.
• The Stone Bridge across the Danube as a milestone of medieval bridge architecture and oldest existing bridge in Germany.
• The Bridge Tower as the remaining one of once 3 guard towers along the Stone Bridge.
• The Salzstadel and Amberger Stadel as historic salt storages next to the Bridge Tower.
• The Historic Sausage Kitchen as probably the oldest continuously open public restaurant in the world.
Due to its small size the model doesn't really make any pretense of accurate proportions or a consistent overall scale. It is to be understood more as an homage than an accurate reproduction.
Building instructions and further details can be found on Rebrickable.
(With regards to the Brickscalibur contest, I acknowledge that not all the buildings might fit exactly into the required period of ~500-1500, but each of them could have existed at this time if it was a more generic city and the model nonetheless has a rather medieval core idea.)
Here's my entry for the Brickscalibur Rogues and Outlaws category! This build shows a peaceful wizard being attacked by forest rouges.
I had a lot of fun making this build, and I can't thank enough all of the wonderful people that helped and gave advice, thank you!

I tried to squeeze as many details and building techniques into this medieval marketplace as possible, barely noticing some of them will be lost behind the tree and other stuff in the final picture.

The castle of crockery
Once upon a time in a modern kingdom, there was a cook who was a little too creative. At the end of every banquet. He made his own castle with what he had on hand, a chopping board as a bridge, plate and platter as a tower, red glasses for the two of you and the sink as a moat.

Gang of adventurers showed up at the Castle's main gate, all nice and friendly. They wanted to see Mage-Governor Alrune to tell her to drop the whole necromancy thing and turn to the Light instead.
Lord Dresghar talked to them. No clue what he said, but they left good friends.
Lady Alrune is still doing her experiments like nothing happened.

Two champions of the the Goat-Cart Racing League's Ultralightweight Division line up for today's Grand Prix. Longhorn the Second is in fine shape, and Aribella is looking forward to getting back on the track after her racer was tragically eaten by a passing warbler during last year's race. Here is my Adventuring Party!
I did not have time to create backstories, but from left to right we have a human Ranger, a dark elf Archer, a human Paladin, a human Bard, a dwarf Fighter, and an elf Mage. And of course they have their trusty pack horse.
In the heart of the deep dwarf mine, the air is thick with the scent of coal and metal. Winding through the poorly lit tunnels are sturdy rails, shimmering weakly in the flickering torchlight. Minecarts, laden with precious ores and gems, clatter along the tracks, their wheels echoing against the stone walls. The rhythmic sound of the carts moving back and forth creates a symphony of industry, as dwarves work tirelessly to excavate the treasures hidden deep within the mountain. Each journey of the minecart is a testament to their craftsmanship and determination, forging a path through the depths of the earth.
If you haven't noticed, the two first layer on the foreground are made using Dark Gray and not Dark Bluish Gray. I'm very happy to have been able to use that discontinued color and I'm planning to use it more in the future.
For the little dwarf represented using Antenna, it got inspired by Jonah Schultz in his moc "Fall of an Empire"
Finally, I want to give a huge shout-out to ForlornEmpire who kindly answered to loads of my question on how I could photograph this mine. As his moc Into Dungeon Depths is quite similar to mine, his explanation on the way to set up the light and the setting helped a lot. Thanks a lot !
This mine was built for the "Dwarf Tales" category of the Brickscalibur contest.

Like what you're seeing? You can win this MOC in this year’s Brickscalibur! Consider entering the Tails from the Meadow category and this might just be yours! Will you join us?
I've been wanting to do a Mouse Guard inspired character for ages – when we decided on a critter-based category I knew I just had to go for it. It escalated quickly: The mouse had to be riding on a bird, obviously, and then it needed a rock, and some forest surroundings and... well... the rest is history.
Inspired by this lovely print.
In a treacherous coup, Snakor and his fellow snakemen were able to overtake the once mighty house Rosenfels and since then, sneaky Snakor calls himself a lord. Wielding the famous blade "Earthquake", sign of the heirs of Rosenfels, the greedy Snakor now wants to win the mightiest weapon ever known, -"Brickscalibur", in order to gain even more power and finally enslave all mankind under a snakemen-regime. Getting one more build in before 2022 finally comes to a close. I've wanted to build a couple more fairy tale book covers, and "The Frozen Wilds" category of the Brickscaliber contest was a good enough reason to finally get back to it. Found deep within the oceans of Historica, the Giant Valyrian Anglerfish is only seen by surface dwellers when its corpse washes ashore.
Like other species of anglerfish, it is subject to extreme sexual dimorphism between females (measuring roughly 30 feet in length) and males (measuring roughy 5 feet in length).

The Burning Portal
The Great Library of the Kolgaris was a sanctuary of ancient knowledge. Its shelves, which reached up to the vaulted ceiling, were filled with dusty grimoires, magical artifacts, ancient scrolls, and potions of vibrant colors. It was in this setting that Elara resided, the youngest apprentice of the order.
That day, Elara was tasked with reorganizing a particularly high shelf. As she reached the top of the ladder, her foot slipped. In her fall, she knocked over vials that shattered into a thousand pieces, spilling their colorful liquids onto the wooden floor. A spark jumped from one of the potions, causing an explosion, and in an instant, the fire spread across the floor towards the center of the room.
Faelan, the oldest and wisest of the Kolgaris, was working near the teleportation portal when he heard the explosion and felt the heat rising. He looked up in horror and saw the flames engulfing the magic circle. He knew that if the fire reached the portal, it would emerge just as dangerous on the other side, unleashing destructive forces into the Sacred Forest.
Time was of the essence. The library, the beating heart of their knowledge, was in peril. But that was not all. The Sacred Forest, the lungs of their world, was in danger of being ravaged by the unleashed flames. The Kolgaris had to act quickly. Every second that passed brought them closer to disaster.

The Ordo Ex Libris, the martial order of wizarding knights supplies the garrison and rangers of the Library. Middling sorcerers typically fall into their ranks, challenging the dangers of the world by disciplining their body as well as their mind.
Fig. 1 Shows a Summoner of the Unreal, probably a minor wizard corrupted by incorrect and unprotected use of magic who has been replaced by a nightmare from the Unreal Planes. It is accompanied by typical minions, a Void Parasite attached to an unlucky peasant, a Polyp, and a less common Dark Jester. The Summoner has penetrated the tomb of some forgotten magus in search of artefacts of power, but has been intercepted by a team of questing knights bent on its destruction.

Clash of lances
Every year, the Dragon Clan organizes a great joust. The best knights from across the kingdoms gather for a merciless tournament. Currently, it is the young prodigy, Lorik, who faces the fearsome Moros, a knight with a dark reputation, while the Dragon Clan’s own knight prepares to enter the lists.
Let us listen to the bard commentate on this clash:
« Hear ye, hear ye, one and all,
A joust begins, a hero’s call!
Sir Lorik, bold and strong and bright,
His armor gleams with silver light.
Sir Moros, dark as stormy night,
His shield bears a dragon, fierce and tight.
Their steeds they spur, with all their might,
To meet in battle, full of fight.
Their lances clash, a mighty sound,
As they collide upon the ground.
Sir Moros falls, his quest is done,
And Lorik claims the victor’s crown.»
