One final entry to Brickscalibur. Another for the "Tails" category. The Castle Sandya will never fear the likes of seagulls.
My entry for the category « Dwarf Tales » (Brickscalibur)
The Unexpected Alliance
Deep within the mountain’s heart, where sunlight fears to tread, lies a dwarven city of unparalleled wealth. Its tunnels stretch endlessly, carved into the rock by generations of blacksmiths and miners. In the deepest recesses of this subterranean realm lies an ancient secret: the dwarves have forged an unexpected alliance with a colossal dragon.
In a vast chamber, illuminated by a phosphorescent glow, only the head and tail of a dragon with ruby-red scales emerge from a heap of gold. Its amber eyes, filled with millennia of wisdom, gaze upon the immense treasure that engulfs it. At its feet, two dwarven guards, clad in finely crafted armor, stand watch around the clock over a blue sphere suspended above a pedestal adorned with mysterious runes. This sphere, a tangible symbol of the union between the two races, emits a soft pulse, radiating a calming energy throughout the chamber.
The history of this alliance dates back to ancient times. The dwarves, ever seeking new veins of ore, had ventured too deep into the mountain and disturbed the dragon’s slumber. Instead of exterminating them, the creature perceived in them a strength and determination worthy of admiration. A pact was forged: the dwarves could continue to exploit the mountain’s riches in exchange for their loyalty and regular tributes. The dragon, in turn, would protect the city from any external threats.

My little LEGO vignette of the medieval Old Town of Regensburg, Germany, a UNESCO World Heritage site. I built this for the 12x12 category of Brickscalibur inspired by a recent trip to the city. It is akin to a skyline model but in a more crammed 2-dimensional layout. Thus it's not an actual reproduction of the city's layout rather than an agglomeration of various points of interest, specifically:
• The Old Town Hall with its high tower and the adjacent Imperial Diet Hall where the Imperial Diet of the Holy Roman Empire assembled.
• St. Peter's Cathedral as one of the most significant Gothic cathedrals in Germany.
• The Baroque Justitia Fountain bearing a sculpture of Lady Justice.
• The Stone Bridge across the Danube as a milestone of medieval bridge architecture and oldest existing bridge in Germany.
• The Bridge Tower as the remaining one of once 3 guard towers along the Stone Bridge.
• The Salzstadel and Amberger Stadel as historic salt storages next to the Bridge Tower.
• The Historic Sausage Kitchen as probably the oldest continuously open public restaurant in the world.
Due to its small size the model doesn't really make any pretense of accurate proportions or a consistent overall scale. It is to be understood more as an homage than an accurate reproduction.
Building instructions and further details can be found on Rebrickable.
(With regards to the Brickscalibur contest, I acknowledge that not all the buildings might fit exactly into the required period of ~500-1500, but each of them could have existed at this time if it was a more generic city and the model nonetheless has a rather medieval core idea.)
The medieval times was violent and the need for protection was high, in particular for the rich and wealthy. Here is my take on a fortified bishop palace.
Built for Brickscalibur (Medieval micro) , CCC (Micro castle) and medieval contest hosted by brikkelauget.
Even though most dwarfs have a common knowledge of all things shiny, the gem trader is the expert.
Built for Brickscalibur 24 "Dwarf tales" category
I built the head first, centered entirely around the idea of the bat-symbol tiles for big reptilian eyes. The scaliness and fins on the side set the tone for the rest of the build. The horn/tendrils were actually another last-minute addition.
King Golaf looking for a toothpick. My entry for Brickscalibur "Monstrous Encounters" category.
Thanks to "The Frenchy Bricks" who shared a great tutorial for the base frame. It got so top-heavy with the four arms and I didn't have time to rebuild the legs so I had to add the war hammer as a support to stop the thing from falling over. It's extremly poseable and I'm looking forward to do another shoot some time later. Just managed to squeeze this one into the Brickscalibur just before the deadline.
This is my entry for the Monarchic Minifigures Category for 2021's Brickscalibur contest.
Not only is this my first entry to the contest but also the first figbarf so far. I admit having had loads of fun, though, resulting in multiple minifigure orders. Sigh...
Another one for Brickscalibur 2022 (Trading Places category) and because i used several swords, it's also good for first round of Iron Forge!
Ever wondered where the new falconer figure got her wonderful falcon? At Mr. Mundigasts secret shop for magic animals of course. But in Caliburia, any trade with magic beasts is forbidden, so Mr. Mundigast set up shop in a damp cellar and only a selected few know where to find it.
Brethren! We have tried our best and had our most knowledgeable experts assess the situation, but despite their efforts the situation remains dire. The dark masters crack their whips. Little time remains to build worthy masterpieces! Hurry..
My entry for the 2021 Brickscalibur 12x12 Vignette category.
My first real stab at microscale (the life-size tortoise is just a bonus). Built for the Brickscalibur Medieval Micros category.
With a lifespan measured in the triple digits, the Mountain is an oblivious host to the thriving civilization on its shell.
Brickscalibur may be over but while we're hard at work ironing out the results and preparing the announcement of the winners, there are still a few more trophies to unveil. Here's a king for "Monarchic Minifigures", and while he's no minifigure he's certainly monarchic!
While so far all the trophies used legs on their own, I knew I had to sooner or later tackle flowing fabric. The king is sitting on his throne (which took way too long to design considering the lack of gold elements) and that was a fun challenge! Enjoy!
Beware of mine flooding with continuous bad weather.
Our unlucky dwarven knight finds out the hard way, when he wanted to get the last crystals before the mine started to flood.
He luckily managed to find a mine cart, but now he's in for a wild ride, and not one on rails...

A 12x12 vignette made for CCC, Natural Phenomenon Vignette, and my entry for Dwarf Tales of Brickscalibur 2024.
Built for the Medieval Micro category of Brickscalibur. I used flame pieces for clouds, faucet pieces for the castle's turrets, and a bit of Mungus' shoulder poking over the horizon for mountains (that big elephant guy from Chima; remember him?). Everything else was standard pieces and forced perspective. I hope you like it!
Built for Brickscalibur (Farmstead Figures category).
A glimpse into the process behind Nicolo di Santino's renowned vineyard, from vine to table!
This was inspired by an artwork I found, and was originally meant to be my entry to Brickscalibur's Far East Elegance category last winter. Alas, I was in way over my head with the scale of this (it's massive...) and wasn't anywhere near finishing on time.
Instead it sat on my desk for months, and I finally finished it in time to bring the main components of it to Brickworld, although with some modifications to better fit a live display (including a completely reworked pagoda which I will show in a separate picture later)
After the Trolls were defeated, the commerce in Agasûl and the surrounding villages started flourishing again. On the foot of the rock of the dragons grew the most juicy and delicious mitgardian blueberries. And they were so many of them! The people in Agasûl made everything out of the blueberries: blueberry pie, blueberry cake, blueberry ice cream, blueberry juice, and so on. But they still couldn't use all of them so they started to make blueberry liquor with the leftovers. It quickly became a hit. Many people startet their own little blueberry liquor companies. And as you would expect it on the market: Competition improves the products. Everybody strived to make the best blueberry liquor. People even started to put some magical stuff in it - just to make it even tastier. And to sell more of it. Until today, blueberry liquor is known as a typical drink from Agasûl.
Built for the Guilds of Historic Contest and also for the Brickscalibur Fantastic Feast category ;-)
Hey everyone! Here's a micro I built for CCC XX and Brickscalibur. When I saw the categories I knew I wanted to try building a castle based on one in real life, when I came across pictures of Alcazar of Segovia I knew I had to give it a try! Of course it's not 100% accurate, and I changed up the landscape quite a bit. Overall I'm really happy with how this thing came out.
Let me know what you think!
All glory to my Savior Jesus Christ!

Gary, Santa's second cousin from his momma's side, stole Rudolph and won the Crazy Goat-Cart race. After reviewing the photo finish (a quick sketch artist is always capturing the final race moments, the medieval VAR system), the judges disqualified Gary for flying over the finish line and not crossing it. Additionally, he caused a crash between Tullip The Brave and his basset hound, and Father Francesco and his two crazy goats. The first place was given to Father Francesco.

Dwarf miners in the cold north, mining unfazed by the snow and the ice.
Built for Brickscalibur 2022.
An entry into the Guilds of Historica 10th year anniversary challenge. Between that, the CCC XX, and Brickscalibur, there are plenty of reasons to be building in the castle theme right now!
It has been far too long since I made a large medieval scene. I got quite a lot of elements in the new flesh colors last year, and have been wanting to make some buildings with them ever since. The model is viewable from all sides and features full interiors throughout with businesses on the ground floor and apartments above. There is even a section of sewers underneath street level.
Loads more images Brickbuilt.
Hydronius the wizard and his old rival Pyros finally found the perfect opportunity to settle the score once and for all, both summoned an elemental dragon to fight alongside them when they met on the tournament of wizardry.
Both mages clad in their dark robes, with their elemental dragon besides them were to face off in an epic duel, neither would want to forfeit.

Widogast the monster hunter has tracked Surts the fire demon to an abandoned church in a lost village.
The village was abandoned when the Whispering Woods started expanding the forest border and the villagers could no longer fight the invasive plants.
Surts however liked the quiet place, if only he didn't burn every traveler that camped inside the abandoned village.
Widogast saw a notice about strange burned body's and started to investigate the old village.
Finally he tracked down the fire demon and a fight is about to start.
Build for the monstrous encounters categorie of Brickscalibur.
I recently got the Wildflower Bouquet set, so building a small Japanese landscape was a great opportunity to try out some of the new parts.
This is also my submission to the Far East Elegance category of Brickscalibur 2023!
Somewhere, a Child of Prophecy is born in an unassuming village. It burns down the next day. Somewhere, a King-in-Exile rallies his people to take back their land. His crown is in a museum by the end of the month. Somewhere, a rare unicorn is sighted by a maiden in a glen, and well, you know.
Who is it that heeds the call of Ancient Lich Kings, Unloved Royal Stepbrothers, and Daemons with a taste for scrimshaw?

Meet Jednooki Hooseesall, the Cyclops Shaman from the Barren Hills. Have a drink or two (of water) with Mee-Su, a powerful elementbinder from the Southern Pole Regions. Have a fiery date with Böyük The Tall, an allmighty conjurer of demons and summoner of fire. Be careful with Venemuri'el, a princess of the old folk and sophisticated brewer of potions, momentarily poisoning the Kings Blade with the help of ancient elvish spells. Finally, after all the ruckus have a calming stroll through the woods with Reindzhur The Silent, an ancient being, a druid and protector of the forest for whom all life is precious

Hey all! My entry to CCCXX, the Forge, the Frozen Wilds category of Brickscalibur! Hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoyed building it! :D

Deep in the forest of A'Distar stands a small mushroom house. In this cosy home lives the witch Gyliah - master of nature - with her magical assistants Aydir and Nyla.
She is a friendly person, so it's not surprising that she spoils her assistants with treats after a hard day's work.
A bubble bath is top of the list for Aydir and Nyla.
This is my entry for the Brickscalibur category "The enchanted forest".
Alaric de Cournouiller continues his Journey to get to reach the city of Sognéterno. He has found some regenerating roots in Grandcastell Canyo on the way and has discovered a shiny crytal.
After a few days of walk without finding anything good, red dots in the distance caught his attention, it was red mushroom. He wanders if he can truth his knowledge and bring these with him, might be useful.

Happy New year ! The first and certainly not the last of the year :)
This is my second moc for the 'Feodalis' role play organized by

Brickscalibur, because why not (:
Hope you like it :)
The Duke of Glannalt is brought to the Folviken.
Abductees are always brought to the lake fortress for safe keeping until a ransom is paid. High profile persons, such as the duke, are always high stakes; sometimes our work just plays into the hands of an opportunistic usurper. But the rewards for the Wolfpack are too good to pass up.
I created this MOC for the Over water! category of the CCC XIX. I had been planning such a MOC for a while, especially after
seeing Jonas Kramm's Wolfholm. The submission was also very fitting for the Brickscalibur Rogues and Outlaws.
Check out more information and pictures on my blog post. C&C welcome.
Here is my entry for the Rogues and Outlaws category of Brickscalibur.
An old warehouse repurposed by nefarious Wolfpack outlaws as their hideout. Perfect for storing loot and even better when they have to stay under the radar for a while after acquiring it.
It took approximately 2 months to design and build this funny building and I enjoyed every moment of it! There are no skipped corners regarding design and construction-wise here. Meaning it's a complete building and everything is connected to internal frames, angels parts via hinges, no illegal techniques, no flex tubes etc. Piece count is unknown but for sure it's ridiculous for such a small thing.
Model design is heavily inspired by an amazing model created by Tabletop World. You should definitely check them out and see all of the small wonders that the create.
An entry for Brickscaliburs 2022 contest for the Frozen North category.
Never has the snow ever melted on the peaks of the Northern Mountains and the calmness of ages manifests further with every falling snowflake.
Yet, suddenly sound carries through the stillness, clatter of metal, shrieks and grunts. Alas, it's the undead horde. The lonely monk, sole inhabitant of the Monastery of the Floating Fire makes a last stand to keep the forces of evil from enetering the realms of the living, as he does every day, until eternity
See the knight's fight with snow and storm. But he will stand until the end!
A submission for Classic Castle XXII Natural Phenomenon Vignette and Brickscalibur's Capturing Character
Though its wings have largely atrophied, this amphibious wyrm is quite content to prey upon the waves rather than the skies.
My entry for the Monstrous Encounters category of Brickscalibur! I've wanted to build a "classic" dragon forever, and this scratched that itch even if it mutated a bit.
In the second quarterfinal-matchup, the fancy gondoliere Vincenzo diRucola has to fight the no-longer-nameless Samurai who now calls herself "Shanga Greyfeather".
No one knows for sure what exactly Shangos magic lamp showed her after their first-round-encounter, but there is definitely some strange aura around her.
Surrounded by crocodiles in a slippery grotto, this should be a great fight which could go either way.
Who will make it into the semi-finals?

Finally got around to posting my revamp of one of my Brickscalibur entries (Trading Places category).
Horses are the dominant mode of transportation throughout much of Historica. Farriers are never short of work, with entire families taking up the trade. One such family are the Ogden family, with all three generations of men taking part in the family business. Though advanced in years, Josiah Ogden still has the prowess needed to tend to horse hoofs. His son, Johan Ogden, focuses on preparing horse shoes, while also teaching his own son, Jeremiah, the tools of the trade.
Many farriers will also accept centaur clients, with one such client being Brielle Valken on one of her (much needed) days off! Healthy hoofs make a healthy centaur!
Where King's and Queen's exquisite wardrobe is made!
This is my entry to both Brickscalibur's "Trading Places" category and the Iron Forge.

A collaboration with CaptainRex for Brickscalibur: Rich & Poor.
In 1275, the traveler and merchant Marco Polo would be introduced to Kublai Khan of the Yuan Dynasty and his royal court.
Left to right.
Jingim. The favorite son and heir of Kublai Khan and his wife Chabi. Jingim would be tutored by Chinese scholars, which would influence his views on Confucianism. He would for all intents and purposes be more Chinese than Mongol culturally.
Kokejin Khatun. The favorite wife of Jingim and mother to his children Gammala, Darmabala, and Temur, the last of which would become Khan of the Mongol Empire. Other than that, not much is really known about her.
Temur. The third child of Jingim and Kokejin, little would he know in his youth that he would become Kublai Khans successor. He would also be the last Khan to be recognized by the other Mongol Khanates as the Great Khan.
Empress Chabi. Kublai Khans most devoted and favorite wife, despite being his second wife. She would promote Buddhism within the Yuan Dynasty and appeal to the majority Chinese subjects by promoting Confucianism.
Kublai Khan. The grandson of Genghis Khan, he would come to power through a civil war against his brother Ariq. While victorious, the Mongol Empire would still be divided between four Khanates of the Golden Horde, Ilkhanate, Chagatai Khanate and Kublai's realm. Kublai would rule Mongolia, Tibet, Siberia, and Northern China and consolidate it under the Yuan Dynasty. He would later conquer the Song Dynasty in 1276, uniting all of China, and would be seen as the great Khan by the other Khanates. He would embrace Chinese culture and was a devout Buddhist. However, this would alienate many Mongols in his court as he was seen as "soft", which is extremely ironic given his life circumstances.
Uriyangkhadai. The son of Genghis Khans greatest general Subutai, he would be Kublai's greatest general. He play an essential role in the conquest of the Song Dynasty in Southern China that would unify China for the first time under foreign rule.
Marco Polo. The Venetian traveler who would visit Kublai Khan's court. Kublai was impressed by his intelligence and humility, so he would make him his foreign emissary. This allowed Polo to travel throughout the Yuan Dynasty where he would travel throughout it for 17 years and later write about it.
Ahmad Fanakati. The finance minister of the Yuan Dynasty, Ahmad was a Persian Muslim who set up the financial system of the Yuan Dynasty. He would bring a huge amount of tax revenue for the new Yuan Dynasty. However, he was also extremely corrupt and was known for his rapaciousness.
My entry to the Brickscalibur "Monarchic Minifigures" category.

Many thanks to @Xymion for his support and advice!
