The oven is hot, it smells of yeast. It's a well-known fact here and far away:Glenraven's bakery is where you'll find the best baked goods. Enjoy!
This is my entry for the Brickscalibur category "Trading places".
Once located at the top of the cliffs on Fett island, during The Great Flood, the castle of Grogu almost sunk. Now the abandoned fortress is a place where dragons lay their eggs from time to time, but mostly occupied by birds.
Built this little guy for Brickscalibur :)
Traveling viking, Waldor, has found himself in Skaaldoogh, a village in western Mitgardia. A raiding party has just returned home and the village is celebrating their success.
Can you spot Waldor among the many inhabitants? He's the only person with one horn pointing up and the other pointing down on his helmet.
See if you can also spot:
A goat
Two loaves of bread
A spiked mace
A lantern
Boromir's shield
A golden handled dagger
Two Valkyries training
Someone whose helmet has tan horns instead of white
A yellow dragon
And a Chima torso
Built in part for Brickscalibur's Where's Waldo category.
More pictures will be uploaded to the album later today. If you can't find Waldor or the other items the close-up pictures should help.
As the most recent Master Builder, of course I have to prove my mettle by entering the CCC GOAT challenge! I chose to revisit 6067 Guarded Inn--I love how colorful this set was and its unique layout is also super interesting.
I had a blast building this, working with these primary colors was super rewarding and trying to get in all the set details like the slanted tudor and the fancy printed window on the wall, the opening front and the yellow shutters, was all really fun. Speaking of which, I highly recommend checking out the rest of the pictures on Bricksafe or my Instagram, there's a full interior plus the entire thing is 360 viewable!
This is also my first Brickscalibur entry--Trading Places.

Four knights encounter a terrible monster they thought belonged only to the past!
But the monstrous mammoth is not alone. The knights appear to have trod accidentally into an ancient ice kingdom almost frozen in time, a kingdom of the East, determined to protect itself from outsiders. Who will immerge from the encounter victorious? And whose bones will remain in the blizzard, to be lost forever to the snow, the wind, and the ice...
Hey guys, this is my entry to Brickscalibur's Monstrous Encounter category, which I collaborated a little with my sister on. Hope you like it :) .
Winter time means castle building time! Isaac and I collaborated on this tavern, building it over a three week period. Building time was pretty sporadic in those weeks due to the holidays, but we had lots of fun with it. We were primarily inspired by this artwork from Jinwon Yun. All the windows are lit to add to the inviting warm look contrasting with the frigid winter environment. It is an entry into the Trading Places category of Brickscalibur and the Miscellaneous category of Guilds of Historica anniversary challenge.
We’d be curious to hear if you can pick out what sections each of us built!
The Wayfarers' Den is a well known tavern nestled into a wooded valley near the crossroads between Valholl, Omurtag, and Daydelon. Being a full day's journey from the nearest town, it provides a natural rest point and warm refuge for the tradesmen and travelers trekking through Mitgardia's frigid mountains. And with its well equipped larder and large central hearth, customers are often tempted into staying an extra day or two.
While Glorfindel has often stopped there on his journeys, he always eagerly welcomes the sight of its sturdy walls amidst the pines.
Due to his young age, Eryl has seen comparatively few taverns. And most were modest affairs when compared to the Den's three stories. His first visit was an experience he will always remember. Cold and exhausted from a day's journey, he was relieved to hear Glorfindel say they would stop for the night. So weary was he , that he hardly noticed the inn until a stable hand helped him off his horse and urged him indoors. The warmth, light and laughter inside quickly reinvigorated him - along with a heaping helping of stew. The night progressed and he listened in rapture to Mitgardians from all over the country swapping stories and telling tall tales. Finally he followed Glorfindel upstairs and tumbled into a bed beneath thick furs to sleep soundly.

Found deep within the oceans of Historica, the Giant Valyrian Anglerfish is only seen by surface dwellers when its corpse washes ashore.
Like other species of anglerfish, it is subject to extreme sexual dimorphism between females (measuring roughly 30 feet in length) and males (measuring roughy 5 feet in length).
Built as part of CCC XX (Fantasy Creatures category) and part of my entry for BricksCalibur (Labor of Love Category).
The knightly patrol stops to talk to the local huge yakman along a freezing river.
My entry to Brickscalibur's "Frozen Wilds" category.
This is my entry into the Brickscalibur Interior Architect category. I'm trying a new photography setup so hopefully the photo is better than normal.
Hey all! My entry to CCCXX, the Forge, the Frozen Wilds category of Brickscalibur! Hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoyed building it! :D
Lights courtesy of Lightailing. This build was definitely inspired by this awesome piece of artwork! Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always! :)

Away from any major roads or cities, this stump lies deep within the Old Forest. Behind the door lies a cozy home, in which resides a friendly old gnome. Once an adventurer, he now lives a quiet life in the woods, and if you are lucky enough to encounter him --and small enough to fit through his door-- he will offer for you to stay a while and have some tea.
Built for the 12x12 vignette category of Brickscalibur. The top portion in particular was heavily inspired by the imp's tree stump by Marcel V, though I didn't realize how similar it looked until I was mostly done building it! Hope you like it. :)
Alfred was one of the most popular men in town. The best stone mason had to work even on Sunday to finish everything on time. Orders were coming from everywhere - the king himself wanted an oversized bust. There was a request even from a land across the sea - a dragon statue. The most interesting job though was from a guy who said he saw his unborn son in a dream. According to the guy, his son's statue would turn to a live boy. He gave Alfred a detailed sketch and asked him to finish the job as soon as possible. The stone mason was baffled, but part of him was really intrigued, because of something he saw in the man's eyes. So Alfred spent almost all of his time working on that statue, leaving on a side all of his other projects. Now he was waiting for the guy...and for that miracle too.
I built this for Brickscalibur, Trading Places category.
It was the toughest fight Jallak had ever fought with a snake. But in the end he emerged victorious and it gave him great satisfaction to loosen the gems from her body.
He made his way home with full saddlebags.
As he approached the Talina Bridge, he knew he would be there soon. But something he didn't know: In the thicket on the other side of the river, a group of villains had been hiding; they were also after the gems.
Will Jallak notice the ambush in time? Is it a coincidence the villains are hiding right there? Or did they even get a hint about his travel route?
Questions that Brickscalibur 2022 may answer.
This is my entry for the category "Rogues and Outlaws" on Brickscalibur.
An entry into the Guilds of Historica 10th year anniversary challenge. Between that, the CCC XX, and Brickscalibur, there are plenty of reasons to be building in the castle theme right now!
It has been far too long since I made a large medieval scene. I got quite a lot of elements in the new flesh colors last year, and have been wanting to make some buildings with them ever since. The model is viewable from all sides and features full interiors throughout with businesses on the ground floor and apartments above. There is even a section of sewers underneath street level.
Loads more images can be found on Brickbuilt.
Far to the east of Mihnar lies the citadel of Lyandamar - a place where all knowledge of magic, history and medicine is gathered. So young Tunvel has just arrived to train as a maester.

Since their founding, the Marble Sisters had only one task: to watch the archives. They spent every day caring for the scrolls; returning borrowed texts, replacing fragments too torn or faded to understand, and, every once in a while, creating new manuscripts to join the ranks of the endless rows in their vast library. Although the sisters were able to achieve great knowledge and wisdom thanks to the scrolls, they received a curse as well: a hunger, a never-ceasing addiction for more knowledge. This drove most of the sisters to madness, however, those who managed to control their urge gained more than anyone could possibly imagine...

Built for Brickscalibur in the 12x12 vignette category.
I decided to build this as my entry for the 12x12 category after I was inspired by some concept art for the wheel of time Amazon show. I figured I'd venture beyond libraries and books and take my chances with some scrolls instead. Let me know what you think!
Feedback is always appreciated,
Happy Building!
Even as a young girl, Feallar was blessed with the gift of second sight and could foresee the fate of others. She felt driven to help as many people as possible. So it was no wonder that she chose a life on the road, travelling the country in her caravan - to a different place every day. In doing so, she placed her own fate in the hands of the tarot cards - they always knew which path she had to take.
This is my entry for this year's Brickscalibur Contest in the category ‘Capturing Character’.
Isaiah and I had way too much fun building this tribute for Markus Rollbühler and the "Rollie Pollie" Collab at BW this year. Between Iron Forge, Brickscalibur, and just all the epic stuff he builds in his spare time, Markus has been a huge inspiration and motivation for both of us. And after straight up copying his trophy scale time and again, this was the least we could do!
It was fun to try to tie together all these different things in one build--castle for Brickscalibur, trophy scale, Iron Builder flag, and of course all the little rolli mice following a big rolli mouse. It was a bit of a trick to fit it all in a carry-on, but I managed.
Nominated for Best Large Building and the whole collab was nominated for Best Collab of a certain size (I forget...).
Feels good to be posting again! I built plenty for this year's BW but ran out of time to photograph beforehand (who am I kidding, I never do that). This is the first of quite a few MOCs coming soon!

Here's my last entry to Brickscalibur, for the "Rogues and Outlaws" category. I was a bit frustrated with this one, as it didn't come together as well as I would like; plus, some of the most interesting building techniques are either not very noticeable (ex. the floor) or ended up getting cropped out in my final edit. But regardless, I think it's good enough as is to post. I hope you like it!
Inspired by this scene from Mission Impossible.
This is an entry for the Trading Places category of Brickscalibur and the Old but Gold category of the current Guilds of Historica challenge. It is a revamp of the candlemaker’s shop I built back in 2014. It features a full interior and uses the floating cobblestone technique we have previously shared a tutorial on.
Glorfindel and Eryl continued on their journey after stopping at the Wayfarer’s Den, eventually coming to Hradheim. There Glorfindel was able to visit his old friend, Kenan, who owns the candle shop Wax and Wick. It sits in the shopping district of Hradheim which is always bustling with folks going about various errands or hawking their wares. Some sweet treats purchased from a baker’s stall nearby were just the thing to provide energy for another day’s travel.

Here is my entry for the Rogues and Outlaws category of Brickscalibur.
An old warehouse repurposed by nefarious Wolfpack outlaws as their hideout. Perfect for storing loot and even better when they have to stay under the radar for a while after acquiring it.
It took approximately 2 months to design and build this funny building and I enjoyed every moment of it! There are no skipped corners regarding design and construction-wise here. Meaning it's a complete building and everything is connected to internal frames, angels parts via hinges, no illegal techniques, no flex tubes etc. Piece count is unknown but for sure it's ridiculous for such a small thing.
Model design is heavily inspired by an amazing model created by Tabletop World. You should definitely check them out and see all of the small wonders that the create.
I always feel like building some colorful trees when Fall rolls around. Which I guess says something about how long ago I started this...
Built for Seasonal Bliss (Wandering Skies) and Dwarf Tales (Brickscalibur). Closeups on Insta. Feels good to be building again after Iron Builder!
These lights were super fun to work with, they look pretty sweet in person if a touch overpowered. But it's crazy how long the rockwork for this island took me--I went with a smaller footprint than last year intentionally but with it being almost all landscaping and interior + exterior rockwork, I spent entire hours on every segment.

Built for Brickscalibur and GoH (which I've yet to join... so this is just a teaser for that :P).
I wanted so much to fix this build up - and I did, and I am, but sadly I didn't get the new version done in time for Brickscalibur. :'/
Hopefully I'll have it done for the GoH contest though. :D
Hope you like it. :)
Soli Deo Gloria!
Hey there!
Here's the first build of the year! And it's not just a seperate build, as this is just half of the story I created with Mbricks. It's our entry into the Brickscalibur contest, Category: Labours of Love, where we picture the love between a woman and a man, who turns out to be a werewolf!
Check out part one over here!
For the design of the house we took this as our main inspiration, but went our own direction with it!
Thanks a lot to Mbrick for bringing this collab to live!
I hope you all love our collab and I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
Cheers,
~ Jaap
Soverign of the Mushroom Fields
Built for Brickscalibur's "Tails from the Meadow" category and the next part in my "Miscellanagirls" series (if you can figure out a better name, please let me know :'D). Aiming to build one a month, each time trying a new challenge! With this one, I challenge myself to modify my style. In this case, it was building a shorter character than normal & building with a nose; only possible with the new curved slopes! Hoping to get some in some skin tones, as I'd like to move to that design in the future and include a nose on all my characters; something that wasn't quite possible with the old mold.

Brickscalibur vignette 12x12
Its awkward holding a black light & a phone to make the green glow a little extra...
Zadig was pretty happy with his new sword, that he just got from Valvik, the best bladesmith in the village. The brave frog knight was ready to take his trusted battle snail Voltaire on their next adventure…
The frog knight is inspired by the awesome art of Armand Bodnar.
Another entry for Brickscalibur, this time for the Tails from the Meadow. My knight actually doesn’t have a tail, but his snail does :D
Finally back at you with a new model. This is just a quick Quantum Lands (Which is now open!) vignette. On top of that, it's also an entry into the Rogues and Outlaws category for Brickscalibur over on Discord.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with the
ski goggle elements as well as with the coral terrain.
The pillar design is by no means a new one, and has been around in the community for longer than I have.

After gathering, but before the acorns can be safely stored away, the mice of the forest stand guard by their important food source.

My entry for the tails from the meadow category of Brickscalibur.
Here's my entry for the "Interior Architect" category of Brickscalibur, as well as my entry for the "Movie Scene" category of CCC XIX. My first Lord of the Rings MOC ever, based on a scene from "The Return of the King". I've never been much of a "figbarf" guy, but I'm particularly happy with how the Denethor minifigure turned out.
Hey there!
This one is actually already finished for some months, as I started building it for Brickscalibur. But as this build got displayed at a library in Middelburg(Netherlands) for a month, I didn't have time to photograph it before moving it over there.
But I got it back at my place now, so I could finally take some pictures and turn it into this final shot!
And yes, the roof is indeed made of a lot of walkie-talkies :)
Hope you enjoy this one, as the color scheme was a pain to get right! But I am quite pleased with the final result.
Cheers,
~ Jaap
After King Janor had all the details of Vanamee's vision together, he had a map of the wastelands made.
Of course, there was only one person he could hire to recover the treasure: his brother Jallak.
He had been indulging in the sweet life with Lady Yannah for far too long.
She now had to watch in shock as her lover received the map of Vanamee in order to plunge into a dangerous adventure.
While Queen Liahnee seemed completely unimpressed by her husband's plan, Ambassador Lord Larrec was pleased that he finally had something interesting to tell his master.
The only one who didn't seem to notice anything was Master Salisar. But who knows who the letter he was writing was for !?
This is my entry for the Brickscalibur Category "Interior Architect".
Hey there!
Some of you might have seen this build already at Legoworld Utrecht last month, but now I finally found the time and energy to take the photo's.
This one was quite an interesting build as the composition is quite different compared to the usual 'buildings' stuff I make. This time the center is 'empty' but still the main focus of the build where it all started.
It was quite tricky to really capture the colours in the digital edit, but I am quite pleased how this one turned out :)
Oh, and no, this doesn't resemble a specific DnD area, but I have played some Baldur's Gate 3, so there sure is a lot of inspiration from that world.
Anyway, that's is for this one; I will be back for some Brickscalibur stuff soon!
~Jaap
There's a lot that goes on on the farm. Stumps have to be cleared to plow the soil. Hogs have to be slaughtered, sheep pastured, chickens fed, sticks gathered, crops tended.
An entry to Brickscalibur's Farmstead Figures category.
Úlfgeirr The Bonecrusher promised only one thing to the dragon - that he would snatch the spine from his lifeless body. And Úlfgeirr always delivers.
My entry for Brickscalibur's Monstrous Encounters category.
The dragon head idea was heavily influenced by Djokson's Sir Albrecht III of Groenhem build.
My entry for Brickscalibur "Trading Spaces" category.
Researching and building the various looms was a lot of fun plus I got a chance to do a castle interior which I love!
Thorgrim the Wise was not always that wise. When he was younger, in his 70s, he used to hunt Beetle Hogs and...ride them. Every time he caught one, he loved racing to the village, the breeze in his thick white hair and the smell of freshly baked pastries in the air.
As the main characters look very cartoonish, I've added the yellow brickbuild background with the black border in order to make it look even more like a drawing. In my head this is like a comics cover. The background is attached to the base with a transparent 1x1 round brick. The widest part is between the tip of the sword and the horn on the helmet, exactly 12 studs.
My entry for Brickscalibur's Vignette 12x12 category.
It was a beautiful fall afternoon when Lord Waldor contentedly stood in front of his castle. The king's envoys had just come to bring him his reward for services rendered. He knew the king was reluctant to do it, but without Lord Waldor's help this place was a lot less safe.
While he was quietly enjoying himself, his wife suddenly came out. “Waldor, Waldor! Waldomir is gone!” Waldomir, their son, is a nice but oh so enterprising and curious boy. And now… now he was gone.
"How is that possible? How could he have disappeared?" Waldor asked.
“I don't know!” his wife replied “Just a moment ago he was still with the watchman on top of the dark tower. He had joined him to watch the shepherd arriving.”
“And you’re sure he’s not inside the castle right now?”
"No, he's not there anymore. After he had been with the watchman he also took a glimpse of the oxcart the envoys brought in, but no one has seen him since.”
Lord Waldor gazed ahead of him, looking pensive. The king did not reward him wholeheartedly… It couldn’t be- “What is it, Waldor?” his wife asked, breaking his train of thought.
“The envoys..” he said “You don’t believe they- but no, I don't think he’d fit in the empty coffer.”
“No! They wouldn't have!? Quickly! Send a few men after the bullock cart! And let another ask the shepherd if he might've seen Waldomir! Oh, where is Waldomir?!”
Can you find Waldomir for Lord Waldor and his wife?

When the Stone Golems of the land of the giants came to assault the human kingdom a challenge was decided upon. One from each realm. Spear and shield, rock-fist and might. To the death!
Two kingdoms. One Challenge. Two Heroes. One Victor. It was evening when at last they met. Who will come out champion? And whose kingdom will pay the forfeit?

Hello everyone! Here is one of my last entries to brickscalibur, and it really is a favorite build of mine, so I hope you like it! It took a lot of work to get the photo, and the two champions were each very delicate and difficult to build, but thank God it is all done!
And below I will post photos of the Giant and a little look at the techniques that went into building him. Thank you for checking it out! To God be the glory!
My entry for Brickscalibur 2022 Medieval Micro category. I intentionally didn't remove the supports for the dragons and clouds in post, as I wanted to keep this as purist as possible. I hope you like it as much as I do. Really had fun experimenting how many parts I was able to remove after building certain sections for the first time.
