GAME BOY Nintendo bricknerd Nerdvember 2018 videogames lego brick AFOL MOC creator ATANA studio Anthony SÉJOURNÉ
With the tragic loss of Alex Trebek late in 2020 I felt I needed to do something meaningful as a tribute to the man and his legacy of knowledge, service, and entertainment. My wife and I watch Jeopardy every day so the show and Alex have become a fixture in our lives. The most appropriate idea, and the obvious one for me, was to build a Lego MOC!

I present to you Series 1 of Collectible Fantasy Nerdlies. There are 12 to collect, from left to right and front to back:
The Knight of Nerdling
Nerdlisto
Nerdlops
Demonerdly
Cave Nerdly
Court Nerdler
Skeletonerdly
Dwarvenerdly
The Nerdly Witch of the North
Elvenerdly
Dragonerdly
Nerdlicorn
Fantasy Nerdvember inspired me to try my hand at a Nerdly, but I didn't want to build a single one. Instead of figuring out a diorama to neatly incorporate a dragon, a knight, a wizard etc. into one model, I decided to go for the CMF format, which then grew the collection of Nerdlies to twelve. This opened up more possibilities to break the mould: a Nerdly with one eye, sunglasses on the Nerdly that doesn't have eyes at all, party goggles on the jester, pink lenses on the unicorn and a giant Nerdly.
Does this count as a figbarf? If not, then I still haven't made a single one... Fun fact? Maybe not.

Welcome to the home of the nerds! For my entry for the Nerdly Strikes Back Contest, I built Nerdly as a modular building that is not only the headquarters of the Bricknerds, but is also inhabited by all kinds of pop culture icons. So, in a way, all of these nerdy franchises are living inside of Nerdly's head. The ground level has the comic book & baseball card shop from The Simpsons and Bricknerd Studios. In the front, you can see Tommy handing off the keys to the studio to Dave. Meanwhile, Minecraft's Steve comes across a strange creature in a cave under the stairs. and a Ninja turtle pokes his head out of the sewers to see at a certain Police Box. Doc Brown puts himself in danger trying to capture lightning again and Spider-Man swings in to save him, while several more characters hang out on the roof. It's a nerd's dream house, and like all modulars, it has a fully detailed interior, so check out the other pictures in my photostream!
"The Collage" 2014
Not sure if making a collage of our builds for the year is a truly dorky thing to do or a mandatory part of the LEGO-community, but we see alot of builders doing it at the moment and we don't want to stand out from the croud....
So here it is, and here's also a summary of our first year with this truly amazing way of creating crap from LEGO:
First of a big thank you to all who commented, faved and just took the time to look at our creations, we are most humbled.
Secondly, thanks to those of you in this community who've thrown out a bucket full of welcome to the community at our feet:
Mike Doyle, Tommy Williamson, Iain Heath, Chris Malloy, Andrew Becraft, Ralph Savelsberg, Carter Baldwin, Joshua Hanlon @ BeyondtheBrick, the team at Bricklink and MOCshop.
We think the highlight of the year were really 3 things;
Mike Doyle wanting to squeeze a few of our evil dictators in "Beautiful LEGO 2: Dark": www.nostarch.com/beautifullego2
AND
Tommy Williamsons first post from our MOC of "good and EVIL"
bricknerd.com/search?q=suckmybrick
AND
Carter Baldwin finding us through Chris Byrne and one morning finding ourselves on TBB with so many of the builders we've frown to idolize the past year.
www.brothers-brick.com/?s=suckmybrick
So, thanks alot for our first year here! And a Happy New Year!

The diorama measures 24 x 72 studs in total. What's not visible at first sight is that it's actually a modular build so that I could e.g, shift the position of the repair pit or leave it out completely. It consists of 4 modules of 24 x 16 studs each, plus one 24 x8 module.
Why those unusual dimensions? See here.
Just realised BrickNerd's Nerdvember contest allows you to enter as many times as you like.. so I thought there was just enough time for me to do some last minute entries!
As you might be able to tell from the two builds, I watched The Empire Strikes Back recently! :P

To start off 2016, I participated in an elimination, round based contest, called The Tourney. The contest really pushed me to improve with each build, and I ended up making it to the semi-finals. Looking back, I still am quite fond of many of those builds
After the Tourney, I had the pleasure of competing in the annual MOCOlympics over on Mocpages, along with Kai NRG, Garmadon, W. Navarre, and my brother Isaac. We came incredibly close to winning, but ended up missing the prized first place by just 1 point.
Last year was also the first year Isaac and I (along with several others) ran The Summer Joust, which turned out to be a very popular contest, with 130 entries from 70 contestants.
Possibly the biggest highlight of the year for me, was the chance to go to my first ever LEGO convention, BFVA. It was a blast, and I got to meet a lot of people in person for the first time, including a good amount of other InnovaLUG members.
Isaac and I also came back with a brickee for 'Best Castle', for our Life in Nordheim display. I also won 'The Hulkbuster Smash' in a national Park contest, with my Meridian Hill Park.
The last, but not least, highlight of the year for me, was participating in the 14th annual CCC. I completed a total of 12 entries in the 2 month time period, 4 of which were blogged on TBB. I also produced my personal favorite (so far anyways!) build, Qasr Albahr, which is my most popular build to date, with 295 faves, and 33 comments.
Some other highlights of the year for me: Numerous bloggings on TBB, BrickNerd, and various other sites. Being interviewed by Tiles or Studs. Reaching 1000 followers, and getting to attend various RochLUG events and meetings.
A big thank you to everyone who follows my work, and continues to comment on and fave my photos. And let me know which of my builds this year was your favorite :)

Architeuthis Pirata commonly known as "Pirate Squid, Terror of the Seven Seas". Captain Kraken and his crew of Mollusc Marauders are not passing up any opportunity to pillage and plunder. Build in a little under two month for the BrickNerd “pi-RATS & BUG-aneers” contest. Based on the frame of the Silent Mary, the whole bow/head section can lift up to show-off the kraken's fearsome mouth. I'd love to add more rigging but did run out of time and string. The sails are original lego, dyed with black fabric dye.

My first official #nerdvember2021 by #bricknerd submission is the introduction of #Punisher in TASM 129. This first appearance defines his role and values in the MCU even though he was only meant to be in three storylines…. All hail Frank Castle.
There have been many great video games in the past four decades, but one of the games that I'm sure many of us AFOLs remember most fondly is the classic Lego Racers, so for this year's videogame-themed Nerdvember I decided to build BrickNerd's mascot Nerdly as the main antagonist of that game, Rocket Racer, along with his sleek race car. Just like Nerdly, it is at a 3:1 scale. Nerdly Racer's arms, legs, head, and visor are all posable and the wheels and steering wheel on his car turn just like on a real Lego car. Nerdly can be put inside the car, although his legs are a bit wide, so they need to be taken off to do so.
Yatey, yatey, yotoh!
―Leia Organa, disguised as Boushh
My third, and last, entry for NerdVember2021 is the bounty hunter Boushh, or Princess Leia Organa disguised as Boushh. I'll let you decide 😊
@midnight is one of my favorite shows, so I thought I'd build the host Chris Hardwick in LEGO. Because, you know, reasons.
pupils are photoshopped, no bricks were harmed in the making of this MOC
Update! I ended up giving this to Chris Hardwick after attending a taping of @midnight. I used a Sharpie on the eyes (I'm not proud of it)

Weaving my transporter a merry dance through lunar craters to the shipyards—carrying a mind-boggling experimental Hilbert-Curve infinite Drive... Keith had been had. It was just a radiator.

I took a stab at an alternate model for my latest post on BrickNerd. Used two copies of the set 31114 Superbike. Hope you enjoy!
Big thanks to Ted for the awesome photo edit for the post on my main acct here.
And finally, if you're interested, here's the studio file!
After all of the trials and enemies, the party of Sir Bricklius had finally made it to the top of Mount Nerdness. Before them was the treasure they had all dreamed of: the Chalice of Nerdiness. It is said that when one takes a sip from this chalice, they obtain nerdiness infinitely larger than any other being in the world. However, there was one obstacle still in their way, and this one was the hardest yet…
I wanted to build something with the dots cube the moment I saw BrickNerd's contest, so here it is - a Mars speeder (because I don't like speeders at all). Sheep on Mars are a bit different than the ones we have on Earth, so the shepherds need to use more sophisticated equipment.
The three little pigs decided to become pirates! They rebuild their houses of straw, wood and bricks on a big ship and even captured the wolf and are making him walk the plank.

MEGA Core Vehicle Platform (M.C.V.P) LL 928
The M.C.V.P emerged as the main utility and ground combat support vehicle for OrionBlu soon after the Blue Jacket proved to maintain air superiority over the Sonic Star. The main vehicle, simply referred to as “the Core”, has multiple platform load outs ranging from strong cargo boxes to advanced weapon turrets or tactical recon transports. The Core is fitted with strong armor plating, oversized all terrain wheels with independent suspension and advanced shielding capabilities. The Core is normally crewed by three, a pilot, a Core utilities manager and a platform specialist. Most Core vehicles also include a systems robot to monitor the overall functionality of the Core.
To increase the Core’s utility, a variety of detachable, wheeled trailing platforms can be attached to supplement the Core’s load out. The extensive list of trailing platform load outs range in function from construction and utility cranes to planetary artillery. Over half of the load outs use the same trailing Control Center which may be crewed independently of the Core if the Control Center will be detached for stationary duties, such as use as a fixed listening post or semi-permanent anti-cruiser artillery.

It’s not a usual Nerdly character for sure, but this is how I felt whenever I visit BrickNerd….it’s inspiring! Besides the top notch builds by many respected builders, many new builders or un-noticed builders with their own unique style and building character being featured on BrickNerd which offers me new things, new perspective and new friends :) but what I love the most is Tommy’s writing who have a light and fun tones and sometimes makes me smile and makes my day :D

Rorschach (Watchmen)
Made for Nervember 2021 contest on Bricknerd.
Instructions available on Rebrickable
One theme was to build a comics character bust taking size model on exclusive event sets.
There is still a few time to enter the contest and win the possibility to have a custom cover art based on your creation.
My character choice was rorschach from the watchmen comics.
I love so much this one and the way the face is changing from one emotion to another.
What was funny by building this one is it was the same for me, making the face design several time, one time making it too agressive, one time too happy... to finally find a balance I feel...

This is my newest LEGO creation, Transcendent Shout.
A figure shouts with swirls of color. emanating with power. The build has around 7,000 pieces and uses every color of quarter-circle tile that exists (except for metallic).
“Transcendent Shout” is a further exploration of the stacked LEGO mosaic technique I developed in “Rainbow Heart” from 2021, pushing the technique to approach not just color blocking or blending, but actually painting with color.
The technique uses quarter-circle tiles placed on top of a second grayscale mosaic underlayer to increase the resolution of a 1x1 stud. This better represents organic shapes and allows for more detail in a smaller mosaic than would be needed to achieve the same effect using only 1x1 studs.
Just realised BrickNerd's Nerdvember contest allows you to enter as many times as you like.. so I thought there was just enough time for me to do some last minute entries!
I've been wanting to use those car mud flap pieces on a cloud car's engines ever since I saw they were available in red. And since the contest theme was 80's and the BrickNerd is logo is red I thought why not?

A classic swedish outhouse from a distant time...
Often you planted syringa (lilac) around the outhouses to prevent (cover up) odor. You'll see them behind the outhouse, in the videoclip.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryvAp7uDoNc
So, since a few years I've gotten alot of attention for character builds, which I really enjoy building. Now I wanted to see if I could build something else. I have no clue why an outhouse was first on my list, so dont ask... Anyways, seemed like a fun challange and a potential to try some new techniques. It was a really fun build and I'll probably explore this genre abit more in the future.
And if you're wondering, it's actually really sturdy. No loose parts and you can tilt the whole structure almost 90 degrees before the hutbase would fall out of its socket from the grassy hill.

―Ponda Baba
Ponda Baba, poor sod. He picked one too many fights with the wrong guys.
This build started with me trying to build eyes with mudguards. The shape of the eyes made me think of Ponda Baba. And so, the rest of the build formed around it. I'm pleased with how sad he looks. Maybe he is mourning his lost arm and friend?
My second entry for the NerdVember 2021 contest.
Just a mundane means of transportation, nothing to get excited about. My entry to the Festival of Mundanity on The LEGO Car Blog and BrickNerd
Built for the "Pimp My Nerdly" contest on BrickNerd.
I started this one with the idea of building an "Android Nerdly" but then I ended up with an Android bot that looked like Om Nom.. so I just went for it.
I must also give credit to this build for being - I think - the first on the ball.
