Time to sum up yet another year of Lego building! Had a great deal of fun this year, even though I didn´t build as much as I used to...been spending a lot of time coaching one of my kids in football so that takes a lot of time. Still managed about 24 builds and another trip to Skaerbaek, which is always great. Even got the opportunity to have a few builds displayed at the Lego campus, what a great experience! Still writing for BrickNerd which is always a treat! Thanks a lot to everyone that followed me, faved, commented and all that stuff, I really appreciate it. Got some more builds that I need to photograph so hopefully I´ll be able to get my productivity back up a notch next year ;)
Thanks again everyone!
Somewhere on the high seas of Azeroth, Orc Captain Foulgrunt and the crew of the Ka'lypso set sail for adventure and treasures untold but mostly just in search of more grog.
The Ka'lypso is a 16-gun vessel imbued (some say possessed) with a warlock's Infernal.
This sometimes gives the ship a mind of its own but also grants them a formidible secret weapon, the Infernal cannon!
My entry for the BrickNerd "pi-RATS & BUG-aneers" contest.
I based my crew on many of the non-human races from the World of Warcraft video game.
I also wanted my entry to evoke the night-time look of Melee Island from The Secret of Monkey Island video game.
The custom sails are made from the packing paper from a recent LEGO.com order.
This is my entry for #thefestivalofmundanity hosted by #bricknerd and #thelegocarblog
Happy Monday! Here is that much needed cup of coffee!
Had a lot of fun with this build, making a realistic coffee mug was surprisingly challenging. But once I figured out the approach it came together pretty quickly. The angled paper napkin was a fun little excercise in LEGO geometry
This is 100% buildable, using available parts and colors on Bricklink.
As always let me know what you think!
Aspiring ninjas must adhere to a strict diet! At least if also being a turtle. Nothing wrong with this little guy's dedication at least!
Built for the category "Cuddly Characters" of BrickNerds Adorabuild contest.
From days of long ago, from the uncharted regions of the nerdy-verse, comes a legend, the legend of Nerdtron: Defender of the 80's! A mighty robot loved by good, feared by evil! This totally tubular titan is comprised of some of the most iconic pop culture vehicles of the 80's, such as the Ecto-1, DeLorean time machine, A-Team Van, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon, and Nerdly forms the head. Sporting a glorious mullet, shoulder pads, and a walkman, our heroic 80's icons are ready to take on the Shredder, Biff, ghosts, or any other evil foe that threatens our nostalgia!
This is my entry for the Nerdvember contest on Bricknerd. If this isn't the nerdiest, most 80's thing you've ever seen, I don't know what is!
A fantasy adventure where Lord of the Rings sort of meets Game of Thrones. The Snow Guardian is just too cool to be left out.
And yes I am double dipping for Nerdvemeber and Brickscalibur, Frozen wilds category.
I'm really happy about this LEGO creation and I also managed to add a couple of NPUs. The dragon was inspired by the horse battle helmet and i manage to add in some lightsaber and a sausage. I am quite happy also about the tree made with rifle and gun.

Hard to believe we’re at this time of the year already! For me 2021 has been basically a footnote to 2020—an incredibly short year, packed full with writing and Taekwondo and oh yes, LEGO builds!
Highlights of my year:
-33 creations posted on Flickr this year, plus seven more instalments of my vignette series on EB (now nearing its close!).
-54 MOCs total this year, including some set mods, Ideas contest entries, and other stuff not posted on Flickr.
-Reviewed and modified the Blacksmith’s Shop, the World Map, and the Piano (so beautiful!) for The Brick Blogger.
-Built one of my largest creations to date, a Ninjago Seabound diorama, also for The Brick Blogger.
-Used the most minifigs I’ve ever used yet in a single MOC for The Fighting Pit of Kaliphlin (and won a Guilds of Historica contest for the first time with it!).
-Started using lights in MOCs with my Lighthouse and Smaug.
-Dabbled a little in motion too with my Windmill.
-Developed my YouTube channel with several time lapse build videos (one of my goals for 2021!).
-Also continued posting in-depth looks at my MOCs on my blog.
-Participated in Vignweek… didn’t do very well but I did produce some vigs that made me super happy.
-Got a MOC in the LEGO house (again one of my 2021 goals!).
-Collabed with my brother Josiah on a SHIP.
-Collabed with Joe, Jonah, and my brother Isaiah for the Summer Joust collab category.
-Figured out that I actually like building dragons! I built three this year…
-Came in third in a Brick Designed and Tips&Bricks competition with my Winter Camping furniture.
-Continued to refine my presentation skills to the point where I’m now virtually obsessed with having a well edited picture haha.
-Started using gifs/short videos to present my creations (really fun!).
-Built a VV! because Simon told me to. ;)
-Contributed all year to BrickNerd with contest roundups, MOC spotlights, and a few fun articles like Confessions of an Anti-Digital Builder and Sorting Series: Peanut Butter Lovers’ Edition.
-And it’s been great to see and be part of the expanding LEGO scene on Discord, Summer Joust questing being a definite highlight there but lots of other great interactions with builders in many servers!
On the non-LEGO scene 2021 has been a busy year with about a dozen Taekwondo championships including some really fun three on three tournaments, polishing up my second book and studying for another one, and starting The KWC Paper with my siblings—a monthly dose of humor.
So much for 2021! Walking into 2022 and my tenth year of MOCing (yikes!), I’m excited to try to bring my MOCs up a notch with motion and lights, while hopefully continuing to improve with my colors, layouts, and presentation. Thanks to everyone who comments, faves, or silently admires my work. And a truly huge thanks to those of you who consistently comment somewhere or another on almost everything I build (you know who you are!), that means so much to me!

3 years ago today I created this account, and it has been a great 3 years.
Back when I created this account I was only 14 an was mainly interested in customs and minifigs, 3 years later I am now 17 and in my second last year of school and now really only focus on scenes and mocs. When I joined I had no buildings skills and throughout the duration of these 3 years I have developed and refined my building skills through seeing everyone’s mocs and scenes. I have met some amazing people on here and some I have even met and am friends with in real life. Its people like you who make Flickr enjoyable, whenever I post something I am always given kind words and encouragement to continue what I love doing. Lego is so important to me and is what gets me through the day, and to have other people who share the same passion with me is something I really treasure. This photo is a collection of my 8 favourite builds I have done.
Here are some stats from the past 3 years

Some noteworthy achievements, won a 5 round contest (Star Wars Battlefront contest), been blogged on Bricknerd, have won moc of the week on Groovebricks and made the frontpage on Rebrick multiple times
I am proud of all of those achievements, but it’s the friendships I have made that I really treasure.
I’d like to especially thank Dayton as he is not only my best friend on Flickr but he is also a close friend that I know in person.
Other people I greatly respect and call friends on here include
Jacka
TRlegosfan

A Brick Interest
Spiritless
Sandmirror
I also tagged some others that I respect and call friends, don't be offended if I didn't tag you, its simply because I forgot :P
Thanks for a great 3 years everyone, I hope to be here for many more years to come :D
-Thanks for everything Tristan
Little space city cruiser with subtle front grille- until you realize it’s the Bricknerd logo and now that’s all you can see
Galidor x Pirates, what could go wrong? XD Also built for the BrickNerd Pirates contest! :D
C&C welcome as always!

I picked up work on my NW3 again, can't believe the first LDD render dates back to 2016. Time flies.
There's been quite a few modifications to it since then, and while there are still a couple of BL orders pending, here's a first teaser -- paint rollers and Technic bushes make good air brakes :-)
It's time for NerdVember fiesta !
Is anybody in the place ?
First amazing shot for pleasure !
Many thanks Tom for all your work on BrickNerd !
This year I wanted to bring something really special to Brickworld. The theme of this years convention is unity. I wanted to show a unified front of men, elves, dwarves and even eagles against the forces of evil.
As some of you know, I love castle LEGO and I love building castles and this year I wanted the challenge of building a creature along with some traditional castle buildings. At first I thought about building a large demon, but then my thoughts went to the classic fantasy villain, the dragon!
I hope you all have chance to visit Brickworld this year. If you have a chance stop by the WISLug table, look for me, the really tall guy with dark brown hair for some BrickNerd swag.
Head over to BrickNerd to read what I thought of LEGO's Message Board set (#41839)
Article written on behalf of #BrickNerd.
Bosun Robert Logan cursed with the rest of the crew of the "Sirens Lament". once a fearsome bareknuckle fighter his fists are now powerful claws and his mouth a tentacled beak. His fearsome temper is now even more out of control - he hates seafood!
A decorative holiday train for the mantelpiece. It started out inspired by wooden toy trains, but more realism crept in while building. As a kid I played with Märklin HO scale trains at Christmas; I guess I miss them :)
I don't really know trains, but the loco was inspired by some Art Deco era designs such as this one.
For more photos, view the full set. (There's a breakdown if you want to make your own.)
A big thank you to Tommy for featuring this on BrickNerd, and to Dan for featuring it on TBB.

Awhile back I was thinking about what I might like to display alongside the Wasp Wing Table Lamp I built last summer, and the idea came to me to build hard cover books with Art Nouveau inspired cover art. The idea was also inspired by the paperback novel covers that Shannon Sproule has built.
These are the first three of them, and I am still working on one more.
I thought it was reasonable to post a better look at the interesting wall solution that I came up with for my latest Arrow vignette.
Feel free to use, just give me a shoutout! :D
You can read a brief write-up of the technique over on BrickNerd.

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's let LEGO be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it.

Here's a model of an electric control car of the Prussian state railroad. Only two of these cars were built for demonstration and testing purposes in conjunction with the EB-class electric slugs. Their Road numbers were elS5026 and elS5027, later renumbered to ES88-11 and -12. The leading two-axle trucks of these cars proved much superior for bidirectional operation compared to the then-standard wheel arrangement of three fixed axles.
For more details on the concept behind the 1914 Prussian demonstrator trains, see here.
While the two-axle trucks of the prototypes were unpowered, my model obviously is - it was simply the only place in the whole train where I could sneak in a train motor (9v in this case, but there's plenty of room for PF battery box and receiver, too).
Head and tail lights are fully functional using PF LEDs modified for directional lighting.
Triple habitat to start the series of CMF 27 minifigures. Wolfpack Beastmaster, Steampunk Inventor and Pirate Quartermaster.

Toby Turtle isn't sure what this "war" is (it doesn't sound edible), but he loves his new Armored Digger! He's now a proud auxiliary in the Heartlake Army Corps of Engineers. Toby also isn't sure why Emma and Olivia wanted to paint his digger's toenails pink -- something about a contest rule? -- but he doesn't care as long as they let him zap rocks with his mining lasers.
Inspired by D-Town Cracka's Friends vs. Fabuland category in the 2013 Military Build Competition. For additional photos, please view the set.
This is my seventh build from the road, using the travel LEGO kit in my suitcase. Again, trying to get some of those more rounded and dynamic shapes that I see from great builders on flickr.
This one came out looking grimmer than I expected. I started out using more colors, but dark gray is the only way I have the right parts with me to give this MOC the shape I want. So I settled for featuring pastel as an "accent" :)
Big thanks to Tommy for featuring this on BrickNerd.
I have just one question for you. Are you ready?
Are you ready for this Sunday night when WWE Nerdly John Cena defends his title in the WWE Nerdly Slam?
And goodbye to anyone standing in John Cena’s way when he takes on six Nerdlies in a steel cage “chutes and ladders” match at WWE Nerdly Slam.
A few weeks ago, I received a mystery box provided to BrickNerd by LEGO and it turns out it's the Tiny Plants set. Check my article about it on BrickNerd.com.
Of course I did some MOCs with the new pieces and I hope you'll enjoy them.
He's Making a list,
He's checking it twice,
He's going to find out,
If your Nerdy and Nice.

This is it... your uncle's old car. It smells kind of funny and makes loud noises when it starts up, but it still runs!

My first attempt at building something in Chibi style, I hope I get it right. I have been inspired from an interesting article on Bricknerd.
Here you can find the video tutorial:
Like last year, I've built a total of four creations. I'm looking forward to what 2016 will bring, although I fear I will have even less time to build LEGO. Happy New Year, everyone!

Last month, I've joined the BrickNerd team. Yeeehaaa! I'll try to share useful and fun content, so stay tuned!
But now, it's time for another awesome contest - Nerdvember! The theme is Comics and you'd have to build an Event Exclusive type build. The prizes are insane - only exclusive sets. And the grand prize is even crazier - your build turned into a comics cover art by the same amazing artist that's doing the exclusive sets art! Say whaaaaat :D
I can't win the cover art (damn it!) or the other prizes, but I still can build stuff, so here it is, the nerdiest Bad Batch character - Tech. Cause you can build one of 3 different things for the contest - a character bust, an iconic scene or a ship/ vehicle. Or all 3!
Everything about the contest here.
