The steam coming off really messed with the focus in the centre.

Regular bread machine white bread recipe with 2 tsp. ginger and a package of dried blueberries added. I thought I would try using the dough setting and let it rise and bake outside the machine. The result of freeform baking is squatter than I like, though, so next time I'll use a bread pan. It's not very good for sandwiches, but should be perfect for toast.

5/14/10 Breadbaker's Apprenctice Challenge the Potato Rosemary Bread..

Who doesn’t love the combination of ham and cheese? When they came together, even the simplest bread seen to be special, and I talk about this focaccia. The recipe is an adaptation, because I didn’t have the same ingredients, but I wanted to make it anyway. I know that many people prefer not to change the ingredients but I suggest you do it, and the baking will be fun. Only the main ingredients are the things you had to be careful (like the amount of yeast and salt, both of them will effect the rising of the bread). Bread flour can be use instead of Italian 00 flour and if you don’t have extra virgin olive oil, you still can use plain olive oil. The kinds of ham, cheese or herb are up to you, use the one that you like and you will happy with the result. What I try to say is don’t be afraid to try something new and different; you will find a new flavor plus some new favorite too.

Just can't resist taking photos of their bread .... a good 'subject' that's easy to capture AND eat too. :)

 

The loaves got a bit mangled because I didn't flour the improvised peel enough and that's why the first loaf's slash is nearly on the bottom. But the oven-spring was really good, considering how the first loaf I transferred got nearly deflated. Ingredients: flour, water, salt. And an old starter I made myself from flour and water.

A Christmas bread wreath with garlic & rosemary and baked camembert

I saw a lady's car get dinged in a parking lot, so I took down the other driver's license and description and hung out until I could give it to the lady who's car got dinged. She was so grateful that she came by my house the next day with a loaf of freshly baked sourdough bread.

 

I know good deeds are their own reward, but this bread is pretty darned good too.

What happens when there's too much yeast and not enough monitoring by the baker.

Italian Bread really superb (much better than their lager)

Proof positive you CAN have bread that is 100% whole wheat that has wonderful texture!

10 Corso Como addes a plate of pristine veggies to the complementary. The colours alone are a refreshing sight (dining out so many days has seen a lack of vegetable or fruit in my diet). The rolls were solf and almost a cross between moist milk rolls and denser biscuits. The bread sticks were slightly crist and coated with sesame seeds (yay).

I haven't seen Weber's bread since leaving Southern California...
