I decided to try cooking bread on my grill again. I used a pizza stone on my gas grill and indirect heat. The bread came out well. Nice to bake it outside given the temperatures here.
I made the dough with wheat flour and olive oil to honor my grandmother, who cooked bread in a stone hearth in Sicily.
I walk a couple of miles to buy bread from this guy who sells bread from the trunk of his 1975 Volkswagen beetle at the Texaco in Challenge Ibadan
Very good, not sugary-sweet as most (purchased) cinnamon breads can be. I added a little more whole wheat flour (3/4 cup total) and some wheat gluten as well. Can't wait to try a few slices as French Toast!

Made three loaves.
Replaced the butter with applesauce and olive oil for lower fat/calories. Cut the sugar from original recipe as well.
This wholemeal bread is made based on a bread-machine recipe. I shaped it into a boule and let it proof in my colander as I do not have a bread basket. The effect didn't turn out well as I didn't dust the colander with enough flour :,(

Bread pudding made from croissants studded with Valrhona Guanaja dark chocolate.... the pockets of melted chocolate are the best part!
