I love my Whole Grain Baking cookbook from King Arthur Flour. I decided to try this sweet bread, which called for lots of chocolate. I enjoyed it, but it was too sweet for me. I'd cut the sugar and the chocolate the next time around.
Bread with garlic, yes, I know that some people don´t like garlic, but it's the best thing against vampires. I've never seen one around.

I bought this 1.5斤-sized loaf pan from Majimaya on Kappabashi Street for making shokupan. After trying this recipe from Japanese Cooking 101, my only regret is that I didn't buy more pans. During my first stab at the recipe, I followed the measurements exactly, even though the pan in the recipe was a bit longer than mine. Since the resulting loaf filled out the pan into every sharp crevice, I scaled the ingredients down 10% on my next try, which turned out just right.
