Fatehpur Sikri, the town was otiginally named Sikri after the village, where it was founded but its twin city Fatehpur (Victory Town) was erected to celebrate Akbar's conquest of Gujarat in June 1573.
Located at a distance of around 26 miles west of the city of Agra, was one of the most prominent centers of the Mughal reign, Fatehpur Sikri, A popular legend is attached to the city's conception. According to it, Emperor Akbar was without a male heir, and was granted one by the blessings of the Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chisti. In honor of the saint, Akbar named the prince Salim.
Once the political capital of the Mughal dynasty during the rule of Emperor Akbar and a flourishing city till the year 1585, when Akbar left Sikri and shifted to Lahore to escape the water scarcity in Fatehpur. The abandoned city then slowly started to see the signs of negligence and never regained its lost glory again.

It's not every day that someone turns 105, but then again George Leighton isn't just someone. Often called "the Judge," a name that fittingly has stuck due to his long standing career as a judge, Leighton has reached another milestone in his already illustrious life. Leighton celebrated 105 years-of-life today, surrounded by friends and family at VA Boston Healthcare System's Brockton Campus.
"Each year is a milestone and each milestone a blessing," said Leighton's cousin Ervin "Tootsie" Russell. "His cognizance is remarkable and I know because he keeps asking me for that ten dollars I borrowed from him 30 years ago!"
Along with serving as a judge from 1964 to 1987, Leighton served during World War II. While in the Army Leighton served in the Pacific Theaters for almost three years as a logistics officer. In July of 1945 he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Bronze Star, for assisting in the transfer of 7,500 soldiers in the East Indies and he was appointed commander of a prisoner of war camp. Leighton then returned to the United States and was discharged in October 1945 with the rank of captain.

This older gentleman who can barely stand is blessing each incendiary offerings to the god with the help of two woman. Saw this in front of the travelling opera show 潮劇, I'm not quite sure exactly who is this gentleman and what exactly is the nature of this ceremony. It would be great if someone can tell me exactly what this is all about.
