Today, I signed the application to rent an apartment, after quite a lengthy search. I've been feeling good about the decision, but I was really touched to see a rainbow in the clouds, on my way home. God has confirmed His will for my life in the past with rainbows--when I interviewed for my last job & when I made the deal on the house where I've lived for the past 13 years. Again, in His kindness, he reassures me! May 27, 2014 in Columbia County, New York, USA.

The Blessing of the Horses is an annual festival in the small pueblo of San Martín de Terrenos, near Guanajuato, Mexico. The festival continues for a three day period, beginning on the 9th of November, with the main function being the blessing of the horses on the morning of the 10th of November. Cowboys from the vicinity ride for days in long lines to be part of it.
is what they call it, the two students, Catherine Sawyers and Halley Martin, at the High School who initiated and run this project:
“The Blessing Box is for anyone who is hungry,” explained Sawyers. “It’s for the hungry and homeless in Mount Airy.”

And here the text on the box reads,: “Take what you need — leave what you can.”
Both Sawyers and Martin are officers with their school’s Interact Club, a student-led group that provides youths with opportunities to organize community service projects in addition to participating in international service projects.
The two mobilized club members and other classmates to develop the Blessing Box, which required finding a space at Mount Airy High to store food for gradual placement in the box. Local businessman Burke Robertson donated shelves for the small room identified.
The program has been running for several months now. What a wonderful service project by the students at the school!

Have you ever looked at couple of people and said...wow, I would have never seen them together. BUT they were meant to be. Some of the most beautiful things we ourselves would have never have thought to put them together. You know.....somethings are just meant to go together. They compliment each other. They protect each other, help, live, enjoy. What's your compliment...a man...coffee..lol. Non-the-less, random ramblings of thought for today.
These feathers....yes were on a peacock walking down the path at the zoo. I loved the colored textures if difference in the feathers together.

Okay, I took these YEARS ago with a fairly crappy camera, so forgive the lame-o quality.
This is the Webb-Blessing house in Charles Town, WV. It is considered very historic as it is pre-Civil War and was built by a free black man. Anyway, the house was abandoned I think sometime in the 80s and fell into disrepair. An old lady lived there with no plumbing! Forgive my shaky memories, it's been a long time. The stone part of the house on the left is really cool, because they just used whatever materials they had laying around to build the walls, so there are like pieces of pottery, glass and brick in the walls. The taller part of the house on the right is obviously newer.
It was supposed to be turned into a museum, but I haven't been there for years so I don't know what's going on with that. When I visited they were preparing to do an archaeological excavation of the dirt floor, since there was no African-American cemetery in Charles Town, it was supposed that there must have been in-house burials somewhere in the city.
