Khewa Lhakhang, Phobjhika Valley, Bhutan. Day 5, Guides: P Dorji/Tshering. A very special thanks to the Kenpo of Khewa Lhakhang for blessing our entire tour group. This room was much darker than it appears here...so a bit noisy.
This is my little blessing. I know a lot posted pics of their kids but I just had to share this GORGEOUS picture I took of my little girl. I had a Glamour Photo Shoot fundraiser for a girl my age with three young daughters that lost her husband in a car wreck. The lady that did the makeup put a little bit on my daughter so we could get some decent pics and this was the result. I am very blessed to have this little girl and to have a friend that is nice enough to help me provide a blessing to someone else (we raised $240 for the fundraiser)
This is the blessing at the end of our time of prayer at the abbey. saintaidansabbey.blogspot.com.

I drew this for some friends who have moved to Portland.
while digging through the attic for christmas boxes I came across this card recieved one recent Christmas from my prairie aunty with a picture from 1962 of my grandpa and me. In this picture she was astonished to have learned from my Mom that he was turning tabs on paper doll dresses for me, as a father he had been gruff and busy and somewhat crushed by a world that had too little work for pay for this finishing carpenter with nine children to feed. As a Grandpa, the terrible temper had been put away and while it was hard I am sure for my mother to leave room for him to be in our world initially, he lived with us for a couple of years when I was very small and passed when I was nine. He built a boat that was named for me, we bought fresh shrimp and ate raw oysters at the Vancouver docks (i was not a vegetarian at 3), shared whiskey (or apple juice) in shot glasses and ate Danish blue cheese and apparently played paper dolls on snowy days. My grandma passed when I was three and my dad’s mom before I was born, but grandpas in my experience were sources of sweet entertainment, bawdy stories and strange snacks. and to my mom, though she never fully embraced it, i savor the thought 'forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself' and in this case your children.
Blessing tree hung with tags at our wedding in August 2007. We used this instead of a guestbook -- everyone wrote a blessing or a wish for us. Tags were stamped with the flying swallows and leaf motif used on the invitations (stamps and invite design from PaperSource.com).
I really liked the way the menorah looked this year when Hanukkah was over. We had really drippy, colourful candles and they made quite a pretty mess. I still need to clean this up, sometime before next year!
Made a shaker card using the Modern Trees stamp set, Oval Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics, and Bledded & Blessings Die-namics.

Yesterday, A friend and I went down to the beach for a much needed "girls day". She will be having her first beautiful baby boy any day now. What a beautiful blessing you are in everyone's life..K~ We can't wait to see Baby Luke.
I acually have a bunch of photos from yesterday so I hope you'all don't get bored of them.
We had such a wonderful time, we had the beach to ourselves and between the handfulls of sand being thrown on us by Jared, it was very peaceful. I have found through these shots that even if it is bright as can be and the sun was a bit harsh that you can still have fun and take some good photos,,,,work through the challange, huh...lol. Although It was quite a bit windy and I was trying to walk and take photos...we were able to relax and have fun...that is worth it all. It came up in conversation ...that as parents or just being a mother we love to show our children the things we love. Here in the top shot we have the outdoors, the beach, a plane, adventure and love. She(Kristy) is already influencing that precious baby more than she even realizes every minute of every day. She will be a wonderful mother~
HUgs and I hope you all have a great day~ Andrea
14 / 52: blessings
carved-in blessing above the door of an old timber-framed house.
it says in ancient german: may the lord guard your coming and going.
These kind of inscriptions were very common in 16th century. Whether to write down the name and vita of the builder or wishes or blessings. Other examples you can find in my stream
