Because of the construction work, at the Tauernbahn between Schwarzach-St.Veit and Böckstein, from 2018.10.06. to 2018.10.28., some of the train used the Ennstal line. In the picture, the ÖBB 1016 035 is on the way to Bischofshofen, with an intermodal train near Radstadt.
Because I had processed already a number of shots from this location, I almost didn't even look at this one. But playing with the shadows a bit, I think this really captured the mood of the morning.

I'm feeling the flood, the flood of a lot of work.
It feels like a thousand ants under my skin , the blood rushing, the heart running.
I should go out now for a minimum of one hour, a night walk. I should.
But maybe I only dress me for my ergometer...
A december like thia. No silent time.
But I try to walk as much as possible.
I prefer to start work a little later, because the end is alwasys open, every day.
Last night I had a good sleep.
But to do it again, I need to bring down my stress hormones.
Hahaha
...not because of its power, but because of its persistence.

Because it’s embedded in a protected park, this was probably the only time we’ll have been able to enjoy urbex without any spray paint graffiti at all - so nice. Though people had carved lovebird initials in the wall moss.
This is the male Scorpion Fly. It was the female I uploaded yesterday. The Scorpion-like bulbous tail is only seen in the male and is in fact it's genitalia - and doesn't sting! They feed mostly on dead insects, which they frequently steal from the webs of spiders. Mating usually takes place at night. It can be a dangerous time for the male, because if he is not careful, the female might decide to kill him! To avoid this he presents her with a gift of a drop of saliva which, it seems, in the world of Scorpion Flies, is the equivalent of a bunch of roses or a box of chocolates.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Backyard wild daffodils in bloom in early March here on Vancouver Island. Because of their long association with Lent, daffodils are known as the "Lent Lily" as it blooms and dies away between Ash Wednesday and Easter.
This species has pale yellow tepals, with a darker central trumpet and grows from a bulb. The flowers produce seeds, which when germinated, take five to seven years to produce a flowering plant! (Source Wikipedia)

The name anemone comes from the Greek word for "windflower." According to Greek mythology, the anemone sprang from Aphrodite's tears as she mourned the death of Adonis.
Thought to bring luck and protect against evil, legend has it that when the anemone closes its petals, it's a signal that rain is approaching.
Still other mythology connects the anemone to magical fairies, who were believed to sleep under the petals after they closed at sunset. Perhaps it's because of this magical and prophetic tales that today in the language of flowers, anemones represent anticipation

because there was another boar chasing him. The two had a surprise meeting, neither was aware of the other until they had visuals on each other.
The larger boar had been fishing in his favorite spot when this younger boar approached but the younger guy was quickly chased off and didn't go back.
It was amazing watching how fast this guy was moving.
Tim, Dana and I had been watching the situation unfold from our spot on the other side of the river and were almost expecting to see a physical confrontation but in actuality, we were glad things didn't go that way.
Bears don't go looking for fights. The last thing a bear wants to be in the wild is injured. That can sometimes end in a slow death, or maybe a quick one. But they don't want to do anything that makes them vulnerable so most of the time, they will avoid a physical altercation.
The motion blur in this is from in the camera. I didn't fake it up so to speak. My shutter speed was on the slow side (as you can see from my exif data).
Because darkroom paper is orthochromatic, the colour response isn't what you might expect - the petals of this sunflower are actually yellow and the background should be black ...

A Norfolk Southern train with one of the Blue Mane units trailing loads coal at the Consol loadout near Oakwood ,Virginia. We didn't stick around to see how long it's take to leave because we wanted to chase the Clinchfield heritage unit up the CSX Kingsport Sub
Because cranes have higher temperatures and smaller bodies than humans, they lose body heat more readily. During colder weather like at the time of this photo, they sometimes lay down on the ground to preserve their body temperature when resting.

Looking back through archives I came across this shot. Back then I never took the time to post to groups and I think this one deserves better coverage. Shot at an old beach chalet I owned on The Blake Sea, this was one of the first pics I took of my good pal Enaery. Thank you for your friendship, Ena, and for putting up with me ever since. You're a pleasure to work with, and you always make getting the money shot so easy x
