... i recently cut my hair for a new style. i'm not sure if i like it or not as it is my first time to have hair dangling on my forehead.. it tickles!.. i think i should get used to it for the sake of a cool change. hihi! =)

A herd of cows retreated under a row of trees overnight. Now that the first rays of the sun are dispelling the fog, there is some movement in the group. A few have already got up but still seem a bit lacking in motivation. The rest is still laying on the ground and probably set the alarm clock a little further ahead.

The biggest ox stands on top of mt. Lilienstein making pictures. Because he got up three hours ago already.

I didn't get as many photos as you might expect because I was doing most of the driving on this trip and as Anita will tell you , the driver doesn't get to take photos as much as the passenger! I did alternate with my daughter but when I wasn't driving, I was in the back seat with the Granddaughter keeping her entertained and doing things. When I took this she was "reading" one of her books. :) Late in the day and back in Virginia at this point. I thought the clouds were awesome so grabbed a quick shot. Today Anita and I are off to Tangier Island. A small fishing community in the Chesapeake Bay that can only be reached by an hour and a half Ferry Boat ride! Should be interesting.

I found the Grebe because I was spending a couple of hours with the small flock of Goldeneye that call this part of the Ottawa River home - or at least their daily feeding spot - during the winter months. They will be off soon, and every winter I try to spend four or five days down on the shore ice along the River while they are here.

This male is beginning to perform the mating display that becomes quite a frequent occurrence right before they depart. After extending his neck, he will bend it back ward along his back, and then do a funny flutter kick and throw his head forward.

There is a part of the Ottawa River, due north of Mud Lake, that has what resembles a railway siding, where trains pull off the main line for rest or repairs. A strip of tree-covered rocks, maybe 150 metres long and ten metres wide, creates the siding. In it, the River runs more slowly, with less of the turbulence of the rapids outside the island strip. The Goldeneye and other visitors make that shallower and calmer water - still open, because it is turbulent enough not to freeze - a place to forage and rest.

They drift with the current from west to east, and when they get to the end of the siding, they fly back up to the western end and drift back down again. This is as good as it gets for winter duck photography here: the birds are active on the water and in their low, noisy flight. And the narrow siding means they are never too far away.

They are very frightened of people though - I have a couple of concealed spots, which freeze over in the winter but are now water or wet ground - and will shorten or alter their drift/fly pattern if people are present.

The name anemone comes from the Greek word for "windflower." According to Greek mythology, the anemone sprang from Aphrodite's tears as she mourned the death of Adonis.

Thought to bring luck and protect against evil, legend has it that when the anemone closes its petals, it's a signal that rain is approaching.

Still other mythology connects the anemone to magical fairies, who were believed to sleep under the petals after they closed at sunset. Perhaps it's because of this magical and prophetic tales that today in the language of flowers, anemones represent anticipation

✦ The Nova Dress by Just BECAUSE ✦

The Nova Dress is more than attire—it is a symphony of aesthetic finesse and elegance. Like a violin tuned to perfection, it resonates with harmony and poise, each detail striking the perfect note. The sweetheart neckline opens softly, like the first bow against strings, while off-shoulder lace sleeves cascade with the grace of a lingering melody. Its fitted silhouette builds momentum like a crescendo, cinching the waist and flowing into a playful lace hem that leaves an echo long after you’ve passed.

✧ The Score of Style ✧

Every element is composed with precision: the delicate bow at the chest ties together innocence and allure, while scalloped lace edges soften the boldness of its modern cut. The included high heels complete the orchestration, a finale that ensures the look remains seamless from head to toe.

✧ Embroidery & Renaissance Origins ✧

The fabric hums with the intricate acanthus leaf motif, drawn from the opulent tradition of the Italian Renaissance. First played in the courts of Venice and Florence, these curling foliate scrolls became the favored ornament of nobility, a visual counterpart to the music of lutes and violins filling candlelit halls. Just BECAUSE revives this motif in modern form, digitally embroidered with PBR technology—each highlighted curve flourishes like notes suspended in air.

✧ Compatible Mesh Bodies ✧

• Maitreya LaraX

• Legacy + Perky

• Reborn

• Waifu

✧ HUD Options ✧

• A palette of dress tones as varied as instruments in an orchestra

• Coordinating heel HUD to match or play in counterpoint

• PBR technology that responds to light like the polished body of a violin

Thanks for taking a look at my images. I certainly appreciate it.

I'm back from my business trip. But because it's already quite late, I limited myself to a little text today. Starting tomorrow I'll be a little more detailed.

Today we visit the city's subway, the third subway built in the world after London and Liverpool, which went into operation in 1896.

What is particularly interesting here is a station where the train station is particularly low. Because here the tunnel crosses under the Danube.

I'm about two-thirds of the way up here. So you're on the road (or better on the stairs) for quite a while.

Because youngsters love exploring and believe they can do everything the adults do, Junior left the security of the big tree, maybe to follow dad and then found himself unable to climb back up the tree again ! Grabbing one of my planters, he was desperately calling for help !! /

Dull lights, subdued colours, Cobblers.

Cobblers because the term comes from the Middle English word "cobelere," meaning someone who mends shoes, evolving from the verb "to cobble," meaning to patch or mend roughly.

Historically, "cordwainers" made new shoes from fine leather, while cobblers handled the patching and repairing of worn footwear, a less prestigious but vital job that kept shoes usable, often on rough, cobbled streets.

Because of the remote nature of the Karrak Lake field camp, wee used a Single Otter aircraft on skied/wheels to initially set it up in the spring. All our gear was brought in for the summer season which in this case lasted for 53 days. When they dismantled the camp the gear was removed using a float plane.

One thing you had to realize that you needed to plan so that you had everything you could possibly need as there was no going out to the local store to pick up something.

We arrived at the camp site in late April when there was still snow on the ground and picked up in late June when the river was open and they could land a float plane to pick us up.

We did have radio communication in case of emergency.

It was an interesting time and you learned to spend your time well so there was no time to get bored. We had 24 hours of daylight which would enable you to go photograph late in the evening.

I was happy to see that the wild pheasants at the park have chicks again. It's not easy to take photos of them because the mother rushes them somewhere into the undergrowth as soon as someone approaches them. I hope to see them again but the park is huge and you never really know where they are.

A torrential rain period is about over now in Suriname. Because of this, the country had to open the floodgates of its main reservoir called Afobaka Dam that produces nearly all the electricity of the country. But opening the floodgates affect the level of the river and a lot of the neighboring constructions such as the Bergendal Resort in Brokopondo, Suriname.

This waterfall is upstream form Haifoss. I know many people take pics to get both falls in, but I chose to highlight each on independently because they were both so spectacular. Besides, including both falls in a single image would negate the canyon walls you see here behind Granni.

Because cranes have higher temperatures and smaller bodies than humans, they lose body heat more readily. During colder weather like at the time of this photo, they sometimes lay down on the ground to preserve their body temperature when resting.

Looking back through archives I came across this shot. Back then I never took the time to post to groups and I think this one deserves better coverage. Shot at an old beach chalet I owned on The Blake Sea, this was one of the first pics I took of my good pal Enaery. Thank you for your friendship, Ena, and for putting up with me ever since. You're a pleasure to work with, and you always make getting the money shot so easy x

Boulders Beach is a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders, from which the name originated. It is located on the Cape Peninsula, in Simon's Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is also commonly known as Boulders Bay. It is a popular tourist spot because of a colony of African penguins which settled there in 1982. Boulders Beach forms part of the Table Mountain National Park.

These African penguins are only found on the coastlines of Southern Africa (South Africa and Namibia). These penguins are currently endangered. As a result, the penguins are under the protection of the Cape Nature Conservation.

Although set in a residential area, it is one of the few sites where this vulnerable bird (Spheniscus demersus) can be observed at close range, wandering freely in a protected natural environment. From just two breeding pairs in 1982, the penguin colony has grown to about 3000 birds in recent years. This is partly due to the prohibition of commercial pelagic trawling in False Bay, which has increased the supply of sardines and anchovies, which form part of the penguins' diet. as well as the help from former SANDF naval officer, Van the Penguin Man

Bordered mainly by indigenous bush above the high-water mark on the one side, and the clear water of False Bay on the other, the area comprises several small sheltered bays, partially enclosed by granite boulders that are 540 million years old.

The most popular recreational spot is Boulders Beach, but the penguins are best viewed from Foxy Beach, where newly constructed boardwalks take visitors to within a few metres of the birds. It is also a famous swimming beach, although people are restricted to beaches adjacent to the penguin colony.

The Tree Hydrangea last week. Flowers were still mostly green and pink, but starting to turn brown because it's so cold out there.

Just a simple candid street style Snapograph captured at London UK of someone dressed up as Darth Vader.

I've deliberately gone for a higher contrast presentation to this snap because I feel it's better suited to this type of photography and I'm trying to create a more journalistic approach to my street style snaps.

------------------------------ JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

When I design something, I usually send it to Jamie to get feedback and to make sure that I haven't made any glaring mistakes. In this case his response was simply "It's true." to which I responded "Have we met? Hi, I'm Bridget, and I do not require schooling on nerds."

because our property backs onto a park, we have a lot of wildlife that wanders into our yard or burrows under our fence.

This shot is a first for me ( full manual mode at dusk). I normally shoot in aperture priority and lately thought about trying to shoot in full manual like many pro wildlife photographers recommend.

So tonight, about 30 minutes before sunset I went out into our yard and found this rabbit. I started at 800 iso, then 1600 iso and finished with 3200 iso.

I’m thinking maybe a 1980’s, but that could be wrong. I also don’t know the model. Let’s just say I know it’s a Plymouth or do I?

Can anyone help?

Whoever owns it is using it for storage because the inside is filled with junk. At least we know it doesn’t leak yet.

P.S. It is a Dodge Daytona Turbo ( about 1985) - thank you to those who know cars!

Mission Creek downstream from Gordon Bridge, Kelowna, BC.

While pursuing the BAGOs the other day (in vain) I came across this little fella on the south side of the creek. I'm not really happy with the results. Because he was busily pecking, I set the shutter speed higher than I probably needed to. For this shot, taken last, he was quite still and I should have adjusted my setting for better clarity. I hope I get a chance to work with him again; I see downies in this stretch of the creek every winter, not usually as open as he was here, however. Oh well!
