I chose this simple image because Water and life are represented in it. The water so precious on earth, essential to life, and this group of flamingos still called "flamboyance" The shot was taken in the Camargue (France ), lying on the ground. It is the only place in Europe where these animals breed.
They populate the marshes and ponds by feeding on small molluscs, crustaceans, insects, larvae, algae contained in the mud. A shrimp artemia salina, give them their pink color.
Due to global warming, the sea level is rising. Storms will become more numerous? The Camargue will one day be threatened?
With imagination, if pink flamingos could speak, they might seem to be saying this to us: "Let's all act together against global warming to help limit the harmful impacts on biodiversity and preserve the wonders of the Earth!"

Avec de l'imagination ,si les flamants roses avaient la parole ils sembleraient peut être nous dire ceci :" agissons tous ensemble contre le réchauffement climatique pour permettre de limiter les impacts néfastes sur la biodiversité et préserver les merveilles de la Terre !"

Der Baum hat für mich eine besondere Bedeutung, den es war der Lieblingsplatz meines Vaters. Zusammen mit seinem Hund saß er viele Stunden auf der Bank unter dem Baum.
The tree has a special meaning for me because it was my father's favorite place. He and his dog sat on the bench under the tree for many hours.
After a month using the mirrorless camera, I love it even more each day because I dont see any dust spot yet. My 5 DSLR cameras, I got dust spot as soon as I opened it from the box lols.
This is (now) my local crag, and the place my dear old Dad first took me climbing 14 years ago. I often pop up for sunset because it's frustratingly hard to photograph, and I'm never happy with my images!
This made me laugh happy though. Incredible how far we've come in a matter of months:

Because I'd just climbed over it. I was having a really weird and unpleasant day health-wise and hadn't intended to take a photograph at all, but saw this and nipped over the fence on the track to a farm building and snapped it with my phone. Then I painted it, of course ! Things are a bit better now, so here we are !
A bit late for Fence Friday but never mind, there are no fences in my picture LOL. Happy Fence Friday and all the days ahead everyone !

We went to the Western Treatment Plant a couple of days ago. First time since the beginning of the year. We were lucky enough to spot the Brolgas early on and I could lean against the car and take some images. I chose this one as it kind of fits the end of year theme.
Walking away from 2022 and into 2023.
This year has taught me a lot about resilience, slow breathing, calmness, asking for help, pacing, disability and not taking anything for granted. Because of those things, I can't completely turn my back on 2022 but will take what I have learnt into the New Year.
The Sherpa and I are heading up to the hills next week to a cabin in rainforest. I hope I can do some photography.
I want again thank-you for your on-going support. You are ALL incredible special people that I am lucky to have in my life.

Ursprünglich wurde das Wasserschloss als Unterkunft und Werkstatt für die Hafenarbeiter genutzt, welche die Wartung und Reparatur der hydraulischen Speicherwinden ausführten. Sie wurden Windenwärter bzw. Windenwächter genannt und hatten – neben anderem technischen Personal – das Privileg, in der Speicherstadt wohnen zu dürfen.
Die Winden waren ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Speicherhäuser: Es gab – und gibt bis heute – keine Lastenaufzüge. Sämtliche Waren wurden mit Winden außen an den Fassaden zu bzw. von den Lagerböden der Speicher gezogen.
Die für die Wartungsarbeiten erforderlichen, zum Teil schweren Ersatzteile konnten von hier aus über die Straßen und Kanäle transportiert werden. Auf dem Wasserweg über zwei Kräne an der Ostseite des Gebäudes, zu Land über eine alte Pflasterstraße, die direkt in das Gebäude führt und hinter den großen Flügeltüren des Wasserschlösschens endet.
Heutzutage wird das Gebäude gewerblich genutzt. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich eine Gewerbefläche für Teehandel mit angeschlossener Gastronomie. In der ersten Etage ist ein Anbieter für Sauerstofftherapie ansässig. Wegen seiner Lage und Architektur diente es auch als Kulisse für Fernsehproduktionen, beispielsweise für die TV-Kinderserie „Die Pfefferkörner“.
Das Wasserschlösschen firmiert außerdem als „Außentraustelle“ des Standesamts Hamburg–Mitte.
Originally the moated castle was used as a shelter and workshop for the dockers, who carried out the maintenance and repair of the hydraulic storage winches. They were called Windenwächter or Windenwächter and had - in addition to other technical personnel - the privilege to live in the Speicherstadt.
The winches were an important component of the storage buildings: there were - and still are today - no freight elevators. All goods were drawn with winches on the outside to the facades to or from the storage floors of the store.
The spare parts required for the maintenance work, some of them heavy, could be transported from here over the roads and canals. On the waterway over two cranes on the east side of the building, on land over an old paved road that leads directly into the building and ends behind the large double doors of the water castle.
Nowadays the building is used commercially. On the ground floor there is a commercial space for tea trade with attached gastronomy. On the first floor, a provider of oxygen therapy is located. Because of its location and architecture, it also served as a backdrop for television productions, such as the TV series "Die Pfefferkörner".
The Wasserschlösschen also trades under the name "Außenentraustelle" of the registry office Hamburg-Mitte.
