Because I'd just climbed over it. I was having a really weird and unpleasant day health-wise and hadn't intended to take a photograph at all, but saw this and nipped over the fence on the track to a farm building and snapped it with my phone. Then I painted it, of course ! Things are a bit better now, so here we are !
A bit late for Fence Friday but never mind, there are no fences in my picture LOL. Happy Fence Friday and all the days ahead everyone !

A few hours later....one of these fell from the tree...reminding me to always: "take it if you see it because it won't be there waiting for you to return."
The succulent Kalanchoe species, popularly known as flower-of-fortune (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana), is super easy to care for. This is because it is resistant to climatic variations, does not need constant irrigation and has excellent adaptation to indoor and outdoor environments. In addition, in the same species there are variations such as the cat's ear (Kalanchoe tomentosa), the mother of thousands (Kalanchoe laetivirens), among others.
When the flowers are simple they are called Kalanchoe.
And when the flowers are folded (multiple petals) Calandivas.

Because I can't drive, I'm always on foot in Diano Marina on the Italian Riviera. Recently, I was looking for worthwhile motifs on my way home. This combination of nature and technology appeals to me.

I change the small photo and instead of my beloved Puffins I put a photo of me and another one of an Arctic Tern. Both apparently have nothing to do with each other. Except that it is ! On my face the blood is real blood, most had been wiped off by the friend who took the photo. This one was taken on the Isle of May in July 2019. You should know that these Terns nest along the footpath that starts at the pier. These birds, to protect their nests, attack with their beaks the top of the visitor's heads who pass in the path.
They first target the tallest people in a group. This is the reason why it is recommended to wear a hat. For my Scottish and English Flickr's friends who know these Isles (not only on the May), I precise that I did wear a hat. It was my third visit to the Isle of May and since the first time I wore a hat !
It was time to join the boat to return to Anstruther but I noticed two or three visitors behind me so I told to myself I had enough time for a few more shots. Being alone in front of this bird I was the tallest and the other Terns had a great time on my head. As the head was busy, one of them attacked me UNDER the hat !! So, if I have an advice : next time go with a full face helmet 😉

J'ai changé la photo du médaillon et, a la place de mes Macareux moine bien aimés, j'ai mis une photo de moi et une photo de Sterne Arctique dans mes images. Apparemment, ces deux photos n'ont rien a voir ensemble. Sauf que si ! Sur mon visage, c'est du vrai sang, la plus grande partie qui recouvrait ma joue ayant été essuyée par l'amie qui a pris la photo. Celle-çi a été prise sur l'Ile de May, en juillet 2019. Ces Sternes nichent en bordure du sentier piéton qui part de l'embarcadère. Ces oiseaux, pour protéger leur nids, piquent le sommet des têtes des visiteurs. Ces Sternes visent en premier les personnes les plus grandes du groupe. C'est la raison pour laquelle il est fortement recommandé de porter un couvre-chef. Pour mes amis Flickr Ecossais et Anglais qui connaisent ces iles (pas seulement sur l'Ile de May d'ailleurs), je précise que je portais un chapeau. C'était ma troisième visite sur cette île et depuis la première fois j'ai toujours porté un chapeau !
Le moment était venu de rejoindre le bateau mais comme j'avais remarqué deux ou trois personnes qui traînaient derrière moi, je me suis dit que j'avais suffisamment de temps pour quelques photos supplémentaires. Etant seule devant cet oiseau, je me suis retrouvée être la plus grande et les autres Sternes s'en sont donné à coeur joie sur ma tête ! Comme cette dernière était occupée, l'une d'elles m'a piqué SOUS mon chapeau ! Aussi, si j'ai un conseil : la prochaine fois, y aller avec un casque intégral 😉

Taxco is located in the north-central part of the state, 135 kilometres from the state capital of Chilpancingo and 170 kilometres southwest of Mexico City.

Its people still live from the commerce and manufacture of objects that the precious metal allows; the baroque constructions raised during the mining boom of the Colony are still preserved.
Any terrace is good to contemplate those jewels of the past, the new and small must be sought among the cobbled streets that go up and down everywhere. I'm very happy because it was the first time that I saw a woodpecker in this mountain range. I have been going to this mountain to photograph for more than 15 years and I have never seen this woodpecker species.
It is very rare to appear in mountainous areas with an altitude of 1000m... or more.
I have better pictures of him, but I like this one :-)

Há mais de 25 anos que conheço a Serra da Freita. Primeiro para estudar o fenómeno da Pedras parideiras, e depois, mais tarde, no âmbito de vários trabalhos de Geologia. Nos últimos 14, 15 anos, com a minha primeira máquina digital, comecei por fotografar insectos e mais tarde as aves. Até hoje nunca tinha visto um Pica-pau na Freita, embora tenha ouvido em várias ocasiões o Peto-verde.
Esta espécie é rara nas zonas montanhosas com 1000 ou mais metros de altitude, o que me deixou muito contente, por pela primeira vez ter observado um destes Pica-paus na Serra.
A foto foi tirada ao fim da tarde de um dia cinzento e nebuloso.

With Miracle our Dutch rescue kitty is a carved wooden cat statue that my DD thought would make a neat door holder/door jam.
And this is a two part “tranquil”. The first is obviously a sleeping cat and the second was the blissful zoned-out time I spent cloning out cat hairs on the carpet while I post processed. I find that cloning is a peaceful pursuit.

Because of my daughter's exposure to Covid, we had to postpone our celebration a week until she had a negative PCR test. My son joined us on Zoom.
Fishermen and photographers both have better luck if they get out early. Because of this, some photographers are known to go back to bed when the good light is gone. Some even fall asleep outside in one of those canvas folding chairs later in the afternoon. Some very severe examples may exhibit both behaviors. Wishing you a good week ahead and the opportunity to nap in one of those canvas folding chairs (maybe even outside, it's supposed to be a little warmer this week).
Another photo from the series "The other Liguria". Because Liguria is not only the one with the sea, beaches and umbrellas. The interesting thing is that sea, beaches and umbrellas are only 13 kilometers from where I took the picture.
