Palm Warblers are my favorite warblers, mainly because years ago it was the first warbler I was able to identify :-) The weather was unseasonably warm and the edges of the marsh (like this picture) were drying out. The plants looked weary and I imagined that this bird was too.
Seen at Celery Fields near Sarasota, Florida
Lavender Cotton blooms taken at the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. This species is Santolina Virens. They are quite small, the one in focus measures about 1.5 cm in diameter.
The knees get a good work out because they are less than a foot above the ground.

Peaceful Bokeh Wednesday
The historical village of Piódão is reminiscent of a crib because of the harmonious way in which its houses are arranged in the form of an amphitheatre. At night, when the village´s lights are turned on, this picture is particularly magnificent.
The entire village of Piodão is made of almost entirely of schist, including the roads and paths between houses.

Yesterday morning was rather exciting because there were several Wood Ducks in the pond. I don't know what got them going, but they were all on the move and speeding around in different directions. It made for quite the challenge, especially because I'm just starting to get outside with the camera again.

Because of the low water in the reservoir this summer we are now able to view the old gunpowder hut which is just above the water on the left of the image, The stone built hut was built in the 1900s for use of constructing the reservoir between 1903 -1911, The reservoir was officially opened on the 11th of July 1912 to provide clean drinking water to the people of Stockport, Cheshire.

I'm re-posting this one because I made subtle changes in the editing and I think I like it better now.
It seems to be a popular shot alot of people had requested to buy a copie.
So I'm looking into framing it on Canvas and adding it to my collection for my craft shows at the end of the year!.
Unfortunately I can't edit out the print of the wood-board. Hens why it's in black and white the shot. The long stripe and print are in bright red and black. Which ruins the shot! Too much distraction I think...
Anyway I hope you you don't mind seeing the shot a second time... Hope you like it! :)

A visit to The Midland Air Museum, which is just based outside Coventry and where there is a unique aeronautical collection of old military aircraft's. And it was rather cool to get inside and sit down in a Pilot's cockpit seat of an old military helicopter; I was amazed just how tight it was to get inside this cockpit and then amused with all the control panels in front of it me.
Just a bit of creative fun, with my fisheye lens here!

Because of the government shutdown in early October 2013, we could not visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park. So unfortunately remained just the view from a distance (from the Great Sand Dunes Lodge) with a telephoto lens.
Wegen des Government shutdown Anfang Oktober 2013 konnten wir den Great Sand Dunes National Park nicht besuchen. So blieb leider nur der Blick aus der Ferne (von der Great Sand Dunes Lodge aus) mit dem Teleobjektiv.
I'm late because life gets in the way. I get busy and tunnel visioned and easily distracted (as you're well aware). And yet there you always are...patiently waiting for me to refocus with open arms. Often my anchor when things are hectic and crazy... my compass, my lighthouse.

And you probably also know this: "Clouds arise because the sun evaporates water from seas, lakes, rivers or streams and rises as water vapor. It's colder up there and the water vapor then turns into tiny water droplets that are so light that they can float." Smart sentences ... Sometimes you just want to float away with the elements :-)

The Sparrow Family is not noted for having colourful plumage but a few species although subtly coloured we still appreciate because they are easily found and fun to watch. This particular species has adapted to numerous habitats in the province of Ontario but seems to prefer short conifers in the breeding season.
Often they are spotted gleaning for insects in shrubs near the ground or on the ground.
The female will lay a clutch of 3 - 5 eggs in a nest which is a cup of grass in a shrub just off the ground and incubate them for 10 - 12 days. Between May and August a mating pair will raise 1 or 2 broods.
This adult is keeping an eye on me as I amble by.
The blooming rapeseed fields are extremely photogenic. Next few weeks the landscape of Northern Germany will look so colourful..
