Because it sounds so much better than pond scum. Shooting the wetlands around the bay, I often find these shots of different types and colors of algae. From my Primordial Soup collection.

This park on the outskirts of the center of the town of Zeist in the Netherlands is named after the medical children's home 'Bethanië', which was founded in 1873 and housed in a portion of the former Protestant orphanage at the Slotlaan in Zeist.
Because continuous requests in subsequent years for the inclusion of children had to be rejected, was in 1882 decided on a woodland outside the then village of Zeist (now Bethanië Square ) to establish a new building, which offered place to 85 children.

Untitled because I don't now what kind of flower they are. But they sure are pretty.
I am not a "flower photographer", but I do enjoy the challenge of getting a good flower shot.
After losing some sleep because of the time change, I needed something to wake me up. So I took the park's garden to Topaz Studio 2 where I added an abstract filter, plus I increased the vibrancy and saturation of the colours. Let's hear it for Sliders Sunday! HSS!

Because I had to destroy one of these tiny Christmas baubles for my other ideas, I decided to try yet another experiment with its remains. It wasn’t easy seting this one up properly, but while it’s far from ideal, I think it worked out okay.

because of the very dry summer 2015 River Wisła got quite dry so it was possible to walk on its bottom and people definitely enjoyed it!
I assume Cattle Egrets were so named because they follow cows around, scarfing up the bugs that are stirred up as the bovines move through the fields. They also follow tractors and are abundant in both urban and rural environments, living with humans quite nicely. During most of the year, they are white with dark bills and legs. But something magical happens during breeding season, and it’s happening now. The feathers on the back of their head, and along their back and chest turn a light shade of brown. Their bill and legs turn orange. To nest, they make their way into the tight islands of breeding Wood Storks, Great Blue Herons, and Anhinga, with only occasional warning pecks from their larger bird brethren. Not all of them turn as brown or sport such bright colors which I think is a sign of their “alpha” status. Usually, the mated pair both sport the color adornments. I like to wait for short little scraps between what I guess are neighboring males and was able to catch this one a few days ago. (Bubulcus ibis) (I’d like to name a dog Bubulcus: “Here Bubulcus, you’re a good dog you!”) (Sony a1M2, 400mm lens, f/3.5, 1/5000 second, ISO 640)
