Remember Jayne, the skeleton who found her way into a plastic bag in our shopping cart?!! Oh my . . .

Because it’s actually the blue toon.

Because of the current limitations in the number of photos, I decided to remove all mine and start again.

Because it's Holocaust Memorial Day and we all need to be reminded of the reality of persecuting people for their religion.

Because sitting on a bench at the platform for some winter sun is too mainstream.

Because women don't want to tell his grief to you , and only express it with tears and an escape to calm him down .

Because I heard that it was rainy daylong on that day, I went round the room of Tokyo. There was the event of the Japanese respiratory society here, but was not crowded. I enjoyed photography freewheelingly in large space.

この日は終日雨だと聞いていたので、東京の室内を巡りました。 ここでは日本呼吸器学会の関係のイベントがありましたが、撮影に支障がないほどの入場者でした。

Because of the parlaiment square works route 159 has been temporarily cut to oxford circus. However services between 02:00 to 05:00 still continue to Marble Arch

Because of the expected snow storms tonight, NSR started its special winter service today. Trains are running every 30 minutes only and many commuter trains are cancelled. For the commuter stop of Voorhout this means Intercity trains are stopping here now to pick up passengers.

This is a shot from my drive home. It was really snowing, and it looked so cool with the trees framing the road like they are. I went for a bit of the cinematic processing here as well! I thought about cropping out the road on the left, because although the shot is straight, it kind of throws off the shot and makes it look crooked. Suggestions?

Enjoy your week my friends!

I don't mind invitations, but please no big, shiny, flashing, glitter graphics, they will be deleted. Also, please contact me if you would like to use my pictures for any reason. Thanks!

Old Rag View Overlook

Skyline Drive milepost 46.5, elevation 3,585 feet

Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

While Old Rag Mountain is the prime attraction and reason for the overlook, the meadow in the foreground and the sky over the whole scene begged to be included in the photo. The valley beyond Old Rag looks hazy, in part due to distance; the air really was quite clear, especially for early August in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We were fortunate in having beautiful weather for our two-day trip with all four grandchildren and their mothers. Often it is difficult to determine what county a given place on Skyline Drive is in because county lines and the roadway generally follow ridges, but this clearly is in Madison County.

And when he was alive, he asked me quite a few times to paint him. I kept saying no because I really don't want to paint people. But of course, after he died 6 months ago, I started thinking about it and began trying to paint him. I'm working off a photo I took of him some years back, a photo I always really loved. It was lit by one candle and he had Sammy, our first mini long hair doxie resting on his arm.

I know this isn't good, and it's the first and only portrait I will ever attempt. It's not finished yet but because today is Phil's birthday, I wanted to honor him and show him that I'm trying.

Sometimes, while working on this, my vision is a little blurry from tears in my eyes, so forgive the obvious imperfections. But it's coming from deep in my heart and soul.

Happy Birthday Oopie (yes, I called him Oopie) and I miss you so much. Now more than before even. I know today I'd normally be baking you a cake and giving you some goofy card to make you laugh. Obviously, that's no longer possible so I will settle for the memories, the good and the bad, and the fun and the sad and hope that where ever you are now, I will be one day also.

I love you

so named because her tactic for all adverse situations is to hide. Heidi is my tamed feral cat. She had two litters in the wild and was pregnant, but not looking so, when I caught her. She's about 17 years old now, and likes to be let out to the back patio where she suns herself.

I had to use the 100mm Tokina poking though the back door to get this photo. If I look at her a tad too long when she is outside, she goes all feral and trots off to hide.

Half of her first litter was caught, tamed and adopted. All of her second litter was caught, tamed and adopted. And of course all of her third litter was adopted.

Because of the restriction to 1000 photographs imposed by flickr, I moved most of the pictures of my silkstone dolls here : essai12457855.blogspot.com

I didn't iron the details because I'm not sure if I'm satisfeid!

If you want to see, I posted 4 pictures before this one, with some differences in the front trees, in the VW Van, and is some windows.

Is there one of them that you liked more, dear partner?

I will be so glad to hear your opinion!

Now I'm thinking on the quilting!!!! I have no idea how to quilt it!!! :))))

Because I have no upload speed. And now no download speed. It took almost forty five minutes and some unrecorded but ridiculously large number of attempts to get this image uploaded. Maybe next week......

Do wonder why I didn't include any foreground? It's because there's nothing there but dead corn stalks. How boring would that be?

A selfie does seem appropriate.

because I haven't done any macro in too long.

Because nothing says witchy chic like a black sweatshirt. Strega means witch in Italian and it is this season’s group gift. No costumes, no capes, just a sleek black sweatshirt with attitude. No tricks, just treat. Enjoy it and wear it all October long, now available at the main store on the group gifts shelf.

Now at the main store.

I'm sure the only reason I grabbed this shot in 1983 is because it involved two SDP40s and their unique square ends, infrequent visitors to Superior. Upon closer inspection these two (6397/6398) were participating in early testing of BN's fuel tender program. Note the yellow and black hose on the rear pilot of each unit for transferring fuel out of a tank car. I'm not sure if that tank car behind 6398 was part of the test, but it appears to have an extra hose in addition to a standard air hose. Now I only wish I had paid a bit more attention and walked around for a better angle.

Because sometimes those very cliché, very British photos of London are necessary.

Day 27 of 365

I try to add Aura to my photo blog pictures as often as I can, because it makes them more valuable to me. This time I cropped my picture purposely this way so that I could use edges of that soda pop fridge to my excuse to add this picture to 'Season of Blackness', plus it makes it a nice 'frame within frames' picture. I wish I could use Aura more often, but she has a bedtime when darkness descends and therefore I often have settle for her sleeping cat.

We haven't give Aura much products that contain added sugar (she's now 21 months). Candies, ice-cream and soda pop are a no go. I know this is very controversial topic when it comes to parenthood and while different people choose different approaches, no one knows how things turn out because children are self-acting humans and not robots which we could program. And I know this is a lost fight in the end, but we think/believe/imagine (choose appropriate word) that getting raised up with certain kind 'normal food' builds a foundation for healthy eating habits. Then when she gets older she will of course learn to eat candies as well, but when it happens she is already used to certain kind of eating habits and candies doesn't substitute something else in her mind, which might happen if we would let her eat those right from the beginning. Anyway, the point is that Aura doesn't yet know any of these things, but she is getting more and more interested about them. In café where we often go, she admires the colorful labels and many of these products are, in fact, targeted to children. This makes me think that deep down somewhere in her mind she already knows how to sort out children and adult culture from each other. There's some overlap of course, but it is still interesting to watch how she unconsciously pays attention only to things which she has some sort of possibility to enjoy and understand. It reminds me of old philosophical thesis, which claims that mankind creates only those problems which it has possibility to solve by itself. Natural wisdom of children and human kind, I guess. Which includes candies too.

Ps. Still considering different options regarding how to change course of my photo blog to something more easily to update.

Because any other color might have been too much.

Because this is more photogenic than just one pic. Also, the part is in a bit of an odd spot, so I figured I'd need to do something like this to give the judges a better view of the Vanguard and it's part use.

Similar shot as the one I posted couple days ago, but with different lighting.

This lighting was an accident.

When was cleaning the mess I caused while doing the photoshoot, I forgot to turn off the light source before putting it away and it gave interesting lighting effect, so I decided to take few more shots. : P

Because fishers thought/think they take trout - which is not a native species, these birds which are a native species - are not protected. In the past there was a bounty available for shot birds. Something wrong with the priorities here I think.
