The moon and stars seem awful cold and bright
Let's hope the snow will make this Christmas right
My friend the world will share this special night
Because it's Christmas

Because the set was so large, I had to clear out the hallway, where I live, to accommodate the model base, which was made up of three, 3 foot pieces of gatorboard.
There wasn't a lot of room to move about, but I did get the shot.
On a different note...the corner building with the bryant sign is actually the exterior walls of the "false front" building I had been working on a while ago.
Here is the interior shot of the "false front" model:

I'm reposting this image from our 2013 UT trip today because I am in mourning. Today, Trump drastically reduced Bears Ears NM by 85% and Grand Staircase by 50%. I want to cry!!!
For much of this drive, Utah 12 meanders through the northern sections of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. It also borders the Dixie National Forest and Bryce Canyon NP. This view is looking into the NM from one of the many overlooks along the way. It is truly one of the most scenic roads in America!

Because I love photography so much, places like this are very special to me. Oddly enough, I almost never go inside the photo shops at Disney World. I usually travel with everything I need and I know the prices here are usually very high when compared to Amazon or B&H.
On my last trip to Disney World, I did venture into the Darkroom hoping to pick up a small can of compressed air to clean some stubborn dust particles off of a lens. Not only did they not have it, the cast members working there could not understand why I would use canned air to clean a lens. They suggested I use some tissues or paper towels instead. I thanked them for their advice and left feeling disappointed that people working in such a cool looking photo shop seemed to know almost nothing about cameras.
I'm not saying all Disney cast members are like that though. I've had some great conversations with cast members about photography so maybe I just visited the Darkroom on an unlucky day. I did manage to get the lens clean using a lenspen, a microfiber cloth and a lot of patience.

Thanks for looking, everybody!
"Again", because some days ago, I was telling you sadly, that I have not seen any Autumn Butterflies in our garden , yet.... But here they are!!!! In October!! Why??? Because it was a totally summery afternoon!!! 20° Celcius, bright sun, no wind !!! The ideal conditions for butterlies!!
Here you can see an adorable Peacock. She has stayed on this specific Blue Asters plant, for more than an hour. The very same butterfly. She has momentarily visited some golden Coreopsis, just beside, and soon returned to "her" Asters! During this time, not only I have taken about 15 captures of this very Lady, but I have also discovered 2 other Butterflies -- an adorable orange and a white one-- flying hastily from bloom to bloom -- NOT only on Asters this time...I have also managed to capture them, although I had to ...."chase" them, but in a ...velvety way of chasing....
A VERY happy, summery October--Weekend , everybody!!!!!!!
RD21791/5. Because of the covid restrictions when I was in North Wales, it was not possible to run the normal service on the 2 foot gauge Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways; but there were Ffestiniog ‘Woodland Wanderer’ trains to Tanybwlch and Welsh Highland ‘Glaslyn Venturer’ trains to Beddgelert.
Despite the shorter journeys, it is still worth going for a ride as there is an hour’s layover at Tanybwlch and rather longer at Beddgelert.
This shot is of a ‘Glaslyn Venturer’ at Beddgelert double-headed by Double Fairlie 0-4-4-0Ts DAVID LLOYD GEORGE and MERDDIN EMRYS; the pair were double-heading the train because the Beyer-Garratt that normally works the Welsh Highland trains was in the works for repair. The train was getting ready to depart on the return journey to Porthmadog.
This photo is a screenshot from a video that I shot at the time and if anyone would like to have a look, this is the link to my YouTube channel:

I was asked to take some family photos but with a twist ... or a Teddy to be specific. It was a glum day, cold and muggy. I didnt really plan for the day because it was short notice so we took a big bag full of props. This Teddy inspired a few ideas and the shoot was a success
Every bear that there ever was, would gather there for certain because, today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic ...

Because of mow on the hi speed route (June 26, 2022), The Benelux, Intercity Direct, ICs Gvc-Ehv and Thalys trains were detouring over the classic route today. I got up early to get some shots at Willemsdorp, south of Dordrecht. I saw many trains, including some freights. The weather didn't always cooperate, but at least it stayed dry.

Named by Captain James Cook because of the rocks protruding from the point resembling nuggets of gold, Nugget Point is an iconic part of the Catlins coastline.
This shot was taken early-mid morning on a day where thick bands of light rain were working their way through the area more often than we were seeing sun. In fact, when we started the walk from the carpark to the point, you could barely see 50m ahead of you due to the rain coming off the ocean. Luckily as we neared the end we were rewarded with 2 short clearings where the sun shone through and the lighthouse and subsequent nuggets were revealed. This shot was taken during the second of these clearings before it completely packed it in behind us.
An ND6 filter was used to milk out the limited wave activity and create some different textures.
Because of recent events, I stopped making things for a while. But now I'm starting some long-term projects again.
Also, this is only a start. I still need to make final additions and fixes. Of course, custom textures and furnishings need to be made, which may take longer than the building!

Because of the expected snow storms tonight, NSR started its special winter service today. Trains are running every 30 minutes only and many commuter trains are cancelled. For the commuter stop of Voorhout this means Intercity trains are stopping here now to pick up passengers.

This is a shot from my drive home. It was really snowing, and it looked so cool with the trees framing the road like they are. I went for a bit of the cinematic processing here as well! I thought about cropping out the road on the left, because although the shot is straight, it kind of throws off the shot and makes it look crooked. Suggestions?
Enjoy your week my friends!
I don't mind invitations, but please no big, shiny, flashing, glitter graphics, they will be deleted. Also, please contact me if you would like to use my pictures for any reason. Thanks!

Because of the unusual amount of rain during June and July in Maine, there was a real shortage of hay for livestock. Fortunately by August, the weather was back to normal and cut and bailed hay was beginning to appear across the many fields and hills in rural Maine.
