Hopped over the border from Slovenia into northern Italy. This is Lago Inferiore di Fusine - lower in altitude but not beauty, compared to Lago Superiore.
WINTER❄️
Standing on a bridge with about -30 °C was a beautiful but cold experience. A clear blue sky and a beautiful river with this view I couldn't stop taking pictures, but my hands and friends wanted me to stop❄️
I also like to experiment with black and white sometimes. So this time no klaracolor, but klaramonochrome🌞
I'm turning down the heat to mono!

Happy Fence Friday
You'll have to excuse my slight obsession with this particular avenue of plane trees but I love it, especially when I took this particular shot when the light was perfect
Happy weekend everyone! 😊
As the sun sets low on the horizon, Edinburgh is bathed in a warm, golden light that casts long shadows on the city's streets. In this striking silhouette scene, pedestrians, backpackers, and cyclists are captured against the backdrop of the glowing orb of the sun. The tram tracks glimmer as the light stretches across the scene, while chimney stacks glow in the distance. Winter tree branches are ablaze with fiery red hues, as if the sun itself is igniting the city. This image captures the energy of Edinburgh at dusk, where the rush of city life meets the calm beauty of a setting sun.
"A tree can be tempted out of its winter dormancy by a few hours of southerly sun - the readiness to believe in spring is stronger than sleep or sanity."

This photo was taken in 2013 during my previous Project 365…please visit my album for this “REMASTERED” Project 365 as I revisit each day of 2013 for additional photos to share!!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5000 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

Missed Amidst The Mist....
A few Months ago a thick fog covered the entire area presenting the perfect photo opportunity for me and my camera.
I found this shot in a nearby park...the trees jumped out of the grey like tall sentinels, they were coming in and out of the fog in waves as the misty white carried by the wind revealed the darkness of the branches and then just as suddenly obscured them once again. at times it was hard to tell where the sky stopped and the ground began.

Three of my favorite things - cold weather, snow and Green-Wood Cemetery. The perfect day for a winter walk.
Willows in the Mist....
Another heavy winter fog had settled over Brampton overnight into Saturday morning, on this particularly foggy morning I gathered my equipment; quietly slipping out of the house and winding my way slowly through the thick mist.... making my way along the boulevard to the park.
The sun had not yet begun to spread its diffused light on the milky grey and white landscape. I meandered along the side streets of my neighbourhood, camera and tripod in hand, stopping to set up for a shot here and another there....I was a lonesome dark figure moving in and out of the shadows... At one point I climbed down a steep embankment to get a shot of the river bed. as i clambered up to the waking path i happened to startle a couple of dog walkers. I guess i came up from between the bushes a little too suddenly. i apologized for scaring them... we all laughed and went on our ways.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021 !!!

Remembering the only real snow that I've seen this season. I'm a winter lover and the lack of snow and cold weather has been very disappointing.
…One from earlier in the year when the sun shone brightly…..

For the 52 in 2017 group. Week #4 "What's In Your Neighborhood"
"Our fourth week's challenge is to take a photograph of a person, place, or object in your neighborhood that represents where you live. We want to know something about you by what is in your environment".
Not an easy one for me. I live in a tiny village surrounded by farmland, but with very few amenities or meeting places. So the everyday things like going shopping mean quite a drive to a nearby town. So my 'neighbourhood' can be the hillside over the road, or the town 20 miles away! When we go shopping I tend to take my camera with me - and shoot the road, the landscape and the skies as we drive along. I call them my 'drive-bys'. So it seemed appropriate to catch the flavour of our regular shopping trip.
The road is icy, the temperature outside the car is close to freezing. The winter sun is low in the sky and almost blinding as it shines on the road. I often try to capture this tree as we approach the bend - and most often I fail. But this morning I got lucky. This is the essence of my neighbourhood in winter - my supermarket trip!

Everywhere I See Icicles ...
Every once in while I like to pour through my photo archives looking for the one or two that got away, yesterday was one of those days; I was home alone and spent the better part of the day reminiscing and remembering some of the adventures Karen and I have been on. I pulled several images that on second sight caught my eye. I will post two today and perhaps when I have time post a few of the others. Each is wonderful in its own right and can stand on its own as a strong image. I love images that tell a visual story that really do not depend on a lot of explanation.
this image taken after a weather event in February of 2016. the ice hung heavy on the branches...making for a beautiful winter wonderland....

If Snow Falls In The Forest....
Karen and i braved the cold yesterday to get some shots of Heart Lake. Southern Ontario was in the middle of a deep freeze, the wind blew clouds aimlessly across the sky. it was clear and sunny one minute and a blizzard of blinding snow the next.

For this week's Smile on Saturday theme. These two trees, leaning into each other were a focus in the wider landscape, like leading players with the company around them.
