"I leant upon a coppice gate
When Frost was spectre-gray,
And Winter’s dregs made desolate
The weakening eye of day.
The tangled bine-stems scored the sky
Like strings of broken lyres,
And all mankind that haunted nigh
Had sought their household fires."
By Thomas Hardy

Winter Tree in The Fog....
In early January we had a fog event that lasted for two days. A sudden warm front moved through Southern Ontario and melted almost all of the snow, the warm air meeting the cold ground created a thick blanket of dense fog that obscured most everything from view.
Karen and I made our way to heart lake to get some shots of trees lost in the fog and this shot was one of many I took of this particular tree.

Home Is Where The Heart IS....
The snow fell like millions of tiny feathers from the white colorless sky above, carried upon some invisible breeze; drifting this way and that as they fell towards earth...
Karen and I ventured out and spent a few hours walking in the fresh fallen snow, stopping occasionally to look and listen... marveling at the sound of the flakes hitting our jackets.
Just behind the park the homes were fading in and out of of clear view as the snow fall at times was hard then slowed to almost a stop.. Snow has a way of making everything look so pretty, maybe it is because the white snow hides all the ugly grey and dirt from the salt as the grey trees become alive with a dusting of the white stuff.

It was a gorgeous sunset, but very cold outside, in the minus degrees, when I saw this rider on a bike coming along the street. I think this was actually a motorized bicycle rather than an actual motorbike.
...made me stop many times on my way to the beach today.

the storm blew snow in clouds of white obscuring everything more than fifty feet away blending them into a blinding white haze.

Silver Trees...
Every once in while I like to pour through my photo archives looking for the one or two that got away, yesterday was one of those days; I was home alone and spent the better part of the day reminiscing and remembering some of the adventures Karen and I have been on. I pulled several images that on second sight caught my eye. I will post two today and perhaps when I have time post a few of the others. Each is wonderful in its own right and can stand on its own as a strong image. I love images that tell a visual story that really do not depend on a lot of explanation.
these two images taken after a weather event in February earlier this year. the ice hung heavy on the branches bringing down quite a few trees and electrical wires. despite the devastation the beauty was undeniable.

WINTER❄️
A cold experience in Norway of 2005. I think the dashboard in the car said at one moment -31,5 °C that day here at Isterfossen. Really cold, but with this view it was unbelievable beautiful❄️
At my new profile me on the bridge where I took my pictures that day❄️
……Trees have something to admire in every season as far as I’m concerned, this view up the River Severn is from the Kingsland Toll bridge in Shrewsbury. Taken on my phone in Apple RAW and edited in Lightroom. Alan:-)…….

Hopped over the border from Slovenia into northern Italy. This is Lago Inferiore di Fusine - lower in altitude but not beauty, compared to Lago Superiore.
