A shot from earlier this month of one of my favourite trees at Pollok Country Park.

This is at the 15th on Pollok Golf course.

Taken just as the sun was about to set, I kept the sun behind the tree to make use of shadows and give a halo effect around the tree.

Midday Winter's Sun....

Wednesday was a beautiful sunny and warm day for a drive to the Lake; a perfect time to take a leisurely walk along the lake shore, free from the hustle and bustle of typical weekend crowds. Today the sky was a cloudless, rich deep blue, the noonday sun burst through the tree tops with a radiance that silhouetted the gnarly trees in the foreground..

Dancing Trees.....

The snow fell like millions of tiny feathers from the white colorless sky above, carried upon some invisible breeze; drifting this way and that as they fell towards earth...

Karen and I ventured out and spent a few hours walking in the fresh fallen snow, stopping occasionally to look and listen... marveling at the sound of the flakes hitting our jackets.

In a field stood three lone fir trees, they were being blown and tussled by the wind and the blizzard of snow that was falling making the background disappear.

Sometimes the overnight frost meets the rising sun, and we have the delight of frost and mist together.

And a blustery wind but you can't see that bit.

From the lanes around the north Shropshire town of Kinnerly, there are some great examples of English trees, this Oak sleeping without his summer coat, waiting for spring.

First day back at work after all the ups and downs of the last couple of weeks and I'm knackered.

I've chosen to post another black and white picture, this time of a tree. I captured this a couple of weeks ago during a walk. I love the look of winter trees in black and white, love the atmosphere and dramatic effect.
