Ne vždy přeje počasí a sluníčko svítí do zad, ale to přeci nemusí vadit. Stačí čerstvě zasněžená krajinka, omrzlé stromy a pak zajímavý vlak. Tím je na snímku manipulační vlak 84062 z Liberce do Smržovky v čele s 743.007. Elektronik dovezl z Liberce do Jablonce nad Nisou dva velké uhláky k nakládce šrotu a tři plné vozy si vzal s sebou do Smržovky, kam ještě cestovalo uhlí v malém uhláku. Zpět do Liberce se vlak vracel již pouze s vozy se šrotem.

in January - snow day

I took this shot from my sister's front porch earlier this year to show how much snow Montreal gets. We were constantly shovelling the stuff, then the snow plow would come and put it all back into the driveway! Yikes, what a job it was and bitter cold.

Hello Flickr friends :) Time to check in to my favourite photo community.

I'm still going through pictures from the archives, can be good fun though. I'm dreaming for some winter feel to come. It's awful dark and grey here. Take it easy, All!

As the sun came up it painted the sky a beautiful orange, which reflected on the surface of the lake. The bare Winter trees were a beautiful backdrop to the scene, with the silhouettes also being reflected. Just a glimmer of the blue sky appeared.

Looking west from Kit Hill towards Caradon Hill.

Covering 400 acres, Kit Hill is the most dominant landscape feature in East Cornwall. Located between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, this wild, rugged granite hilltop is famous for its fine views.

Given to Cornwall Council on behalf of the people of Cornwall in 1985 to celebrate the birth of Prince William, it has always been an important site and has been shaped by over 5,000 years of human activity. From its use by early people for agriculture and religious purposes to the more recent exploitation of its stones and minerals. The Hill is also home to a wide range of flora and fauna, much of which depends on its heathland habitats.

Light Falls In The Forest....

Karen and i braved the cold yesterday to get some shots of Heart Lake. Southern Ontario was in the middle of a deep freeze, the wind blew clouds aimlessly across the sky. it was clear and sunny one minute and a blizzard of blinding snow the next.

this shot of the waning sun casting long slender shadows across the snow.

Canada Geese On Ice...

Today looked so perfect, bright blue skies and brilliant sunshine. Karen and I made our way to the frozen lake and found a couple Canada Geese making their way slowly across the ice.

We could only stay a few minutes; as the wind howling across the frozen lake was biting like hungry bees at our cheeks. After what seemed like a very long time (only a few minutes) we retreated to the shelter of the tree line on the opposite shore to escape the wintry blast..

Although it's not quite winter here in the UK. I have finally had time to start sorting through the many images I have taken over the last few years. This was another one taken on a winters walk in the beautiful New Forest, Hampshire, UK. Although we all love a warm summers day, from a photography point of view if you are prepared to sometimes get cold & wet, autumn and winter have so much to offer.

Weeping trees covered with spring snow at Lake Nockamixon

After watching the dawn break, I walked around the lake and took a shot from the same position I had been in earlier.

The sky was now a beautiful shade of blue, dappled with clouds.

Maple Trees Are Golden....

Karen and i took a drive down town to Bramptons beautiful Gage Park to watch the skating on the winter trail. This shot was my test shot taken to get my settings sorted out for the actual photo shoot. the sun was hanging low in the winter sky and sparkled through the few stubborn leaves on the trees that refused to fall to the ground despite the rain snow ice and wind that we had experienced since the fall..
