Combine -22 degree air temp + no wind + warm flowing water and you encounter scenes like this one. Other than desaturating the blue channel, and increasing the contrast this is what the scene looked like. It was an amazing morning to be in the park.
Bronze soldiers at the Korean War Veterans Memorial move through the trees under raking light. The night compresses the scene into a line of faces and ponchos—quiet, watchful, and resolute. National Mall, Washington, D.C.
I had previously upload this image a few month back, now new pocessed and thought it fits to the season ; )
Thanks for looking and much appreciate all kind feedback.

A mesmerizing dance between light and shadow as the setting sun filters through the delicate branches of leafless trees. The intricate web of silhouettes contrasts beautifully with the warm, glowing hues of the golden hour. A quiet moment where nature whispers its timeless beauty.
This book is for anyone whose faith, like mine, has ever been shipwrecked by the hallmarks of despondent thinking: apathy, distraction, and despair. It is a condition as old as the ancients, one that Christian ascetics of late antiquity addressed with sober familiarity. As prevalent as this spiritual condition was in the early days of monasticism, however, I suspect it is even more pervasive today. Countless visible and invisible forces in our culture collude to form the perfect recipe for despondency: we actively deny the reality of death on the one hand while seeking lives of immediacy, self-focus, and leisure on the other. Even if we wish to sidestep such mentalities, it is difficult to locate domains in which a simple and authentic Christian life can be lived. Despondency quickly steps in to fill the empty spaces that litter our post-industrial Western world. Although this book may not say much to alleviate this predicament, it promises to start a conversation, to “talk about these things” as Mrs. D would say, because it is in recovering our words for what has been lost that light can be spoken into darkness.

'Flaming tree' at Roath Park lake, Cardiff. An almost 3D effect achieved with a bit of skill, a lot of luck and a bit of trickery.

Frozen River...
On Wednesday night we had a fairly heavy snowfall that continued well into Thursday morning turning the dull grey of winter into a white clean wintry wonderland. i dressed in my warmest winter clothing and grabbed my camera bag and headed out the door.
i was giddy with anticipation of the photos I would get. in my mind I imagined all the fantastic shots I would take and I was not disappointed..... what photographer among us doesn't imagine that this shot will be his best so far. i know I see the shot in my mind before i even raise the camera to shoot.
i painstakingly adjust my ISO to get the crispest possible shot given the low light conditions of early morning. i then set my aperture and dial in my shutter speed, check and recheck my light meter for correct exposure and then compose and shoot.
here are a few more from yesterday morning. I will post a couple more later this week.
Thank you for visiting for marking my photo as a favourite and for the kind comments,

These massive, old trees line our city's shoreline, making the lake all the more beautiful.
The evening sky added some lovely colors in the background.
Have a great weekend, everyone.

Slide copy. This was polarised, and I've lightened the sky a lot. Agfa CT18 and I've lowered the clarity slider in Lr to reduce the "rice pudding" grain. ;o)

I took this picture on Monday when it had just started to snow. It snowed all day on Monday, all night, and all day Tuesday. We also had high winds causing a lot of drifting. When all was said & done I think we got about 9" of snow.
Trees can be short, trees can be tall
