Another look at the magnificent winter beech trees on the walk up to Lewesdon Hill. These look as if they formed a hedge line to the bridleway which is to the left of these trees.
There is still beautiful wintertime, but some changes coming soon at at 21strom in Second Life.

A strong southwester brought our first blast of winter. The timid of heart shelter in their homes but not the photographers; they layer up and brave the bone chilling cold and gusting icy winds to capture the storm.
We trudge head down, braced against the winds onslaught of tiny ice crystals that sting our exposed cheeks like tiny frozen bullets. Seeking the perfect place to set up and shoot a few quick shots.

Backlit winter branches frame the cupola of Independence Hall as the afternoon sun throws a crisp star across the old red brick. A classic Old City Philadelphia moment inside Independence National Historical Park—historic architecture meeting bright blue sky.
Roath Park and lake, Cardiff, 6 January 2012. The monument to Captain Scott, whose ill-fated expedition to the Antarctic, which left Cardiff's Roath Dock on 15 June 1910. This memorial lighthouse was completed in 1915, other than the clock, which was presented in 1918.

Here is another one from the archives. It was taken from a car on the way to Thanksgiving. Nothing special. I liked the stripes!
Looking out towards the sea wall area from my balcony, I could see the lonely bench after the snow storm yesterday. Someone is bound to wipe away any snow and sit a while.

The trees are sparse on the mountain. This one was one of the tallest close to the top, but it seemed to struggle a bit with the weight of winter. I almost felt a little sorry for it.
Monochrome by nature, not a camera setting.
Ice melting, tons of vapor.
The best thing about a foggy day? It's not just me in a fog.

The same lady with the dog dressed in pants, but he is hiding behind the tree. Maybe he does not want to be seen in such winter fashions? Just the leash is visible by the tree. We got almost a foot of snow by that evening. Most is gone again, but it's icy and slippery now, especially late in day.

Happy Valentine's Day Eve! :) I captured these hearts in a tree last week with a homemade bokeh filter.
It's a whole lot more dark and wintery in the woods now - especially when the fog rolls in. An atmospheric day, deep in the dark woodland at Ashridge.
Looking back while standing on the jetty I couldn't resist this natural composition with all the winter trees laid bare with the warm glow from the low suns they lead your eye towards the colours on the sheltered side of the loch.
This loch stretches for fifteen miles from the popular village of Killin to beautiful Kenmore, serene Loch Tay is at the heart of this area. On its north side are the mighty summits of Ben Lawers and its many satellites, whilst the south side is quieter and unfrequented. Aberfeldy - just to the east of Kenmore.
