After four MM captures in a row I think it's about time for something quite different. This is another photo taken last (late) summer at the Willy-Brandt-Haus, the German Social Democratic Party's (SPD) headquarters. I had my camera on my small table top tripod, so this shot was taken from nearly ground level. This is a HDR composed of three images. Processing steps, as far as I can recall them, were in ON1 Photo RAW (the inevitable HDR filter that I use for almost every photo, because it almost always adds a nicely crisp and clean touch to a photo without overdoing it); I also tweaked something in Luminar, and as a final touch I did some descreet aditional sharpening / denoising in Topaz Sharpen / DeNoise AI just

recently.

Happy Window Wednesday, and Happy Hump Day, too, dear Flickr friends :) Stay safe and take care!

Alley abode :-)

An older shot from the archives. Taken as an HDR but some saturation lifted. I like this composition.

Happy Window Wednesday

Happy Window Wednesday!

From Wikipedia:

The Cologne Cathedral Window is the stained glass window in the south transept of the Cologne Cathedral designed by Cologne artist Gerhard Richter. On a surface of 106 square metres 11.263 glass squares in 72 colours of 9,6 cm × 9.6cm were principally arranged randomly, with others selected in response to architectural context.[1] The window was inaugurated on August 25, 2007 as part of a Eucharistic celebration; the abstract execution was both celebrated and strongly criticized.

In the distance I see hope. Dreams can give you hope. What we wish for can always be real.

Happy Window Wednesday

An old factory still in Downtown Eufaula, AL.

A lot of you have asked if it is open and can you go inside. We thought it looked abandoned, but from what I have read there is still an employee working here, but I don't know how much the factory is being used. Everything looked closed up tight

Happy Window Wednesday!

For window wednesday!

The vines are taking over the entire building...all the way up to the 3rd floor. Happy Window Wednesday!

This is Morning Star Baptist Church, located in Heathsville, Northumberland County, Virginia. It has some pretty arched windows. I could not find any information on the year it was built.

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES

ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK

We were driving through downtown Vancouver, me in the passenger seat with my camera, of course, because I love photographing the reflections in windows. The large window at the left is the Vancouver Music School and you can see, in the reflections, the buildings on the other side of the street, as well as bits of a crane. What I didn't realize till I uploaded the photos, was that the music school actually had musical scores all over their windows. That was not something I added after the fact :)

Happy Window Wednesday

I took a similar photo to this a long time ago with my Fuji.

When I went back into the church last month to try for some photos with the Lumix I also retook the side windows.

The other photos didn't come out well on the setting I used, so will have to go back one day and try again.

Here's the original photo I took:

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

Yesterday we woke up to Thunder in the AM. Unbelievable and then it started to rain and it was cold and I think all schools here in northern Michigan were closed. Looked out to see this lone man walking his dog in the rain.

HWW.

Since it has been a while from my last window photo and today is Wednesday, I figured I might post one. This window comes from my archives, although Summer 2020 isn't that much of an archive. I took it on a small street in Aigina island. I have been walking and driving past this house countless times and it never made me stop to take another look. Yet on that evening, I did. Maybe it was the sun that was low at the horizon making it's light soft, without strong contrast that made the colors stand out rather than being washed away. Maybe it was the shadows that popped out because of the side light. Whatever the case may be, on that day I found something appealing on something that I never noticed. And maybe that's what we need to do in life. Always have our eyes open and observe as some things ordinary one day may seem interesting. HWW y'all.

The Peak of the Week ;-) Well, that's the weekend, of course, but we are getting closer to that now that it's Hump Day :-)

This is the "berlin cube", a brand new building and architectural highlight right by Berlin's central station, the Hauptbahnhof. The ten-storey office building with a width, height and length of 42.5 metres each was designed by 3XN Architects from Copenhagen in an

energy-efficient way and is equipped with the latest technology, including 3,800 sensors for smart control. The photographical highlight is the glass facade with triangle shaped elements that reflect the surroundings like a kaleidoscope. The cube is great fun – and also quite challenging – to photograph, and I will return there soon with a different lens line-up :-) Should you happen to visit Berlin some day, the "berlin cube" should be on your list of things to photograph. The Hauptbahnhof itself is interesting, too, and the Government district and other points of photographic interest are near by.

Happy Hump Day, and HWW, Everyone :-)

This is actually a home office. The residence is to the right . Nice to go to this office during the work week !

😄Happy Window Wednesday😄.(Fenster Mittwoch)

Austin, Texas Skyline

The people in the boats are waiting for the Mexican Fruit Bats to fly out from under Congress bridge. I was standing on the land..:) My take away is, next time, go on a night with a full moon and make sure a storm isn't blowing in..:) Just so you know, it's thousands of bats. Pretty cool show.

While driving home one night, I passed this vibrant church window.

I have no idea why this lovely house is empty. It looks like it has been totally renovated with newly painted siding and a pressed tin roof. There are some lovely old lightening rods on the roof. The porch with hanging pendant lamp looks like a wonderful place to sit and watch the traffic go by. I didn’t see a ‘For Sale’ sign, so hopefully it is just between residents. It is located in Lancaster County, Virginia.
