The ocean and the art of transformation ~ Given something broken, it will make it something beautiful

Shrine of Our Lady of Le Leche at the Mission Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine, FL

Happy Window Wednesday!

This is an old boathouse located on Ewells Prong in the Northern Neck of Virginia. It is in need of some repair. I am not sure if it is still being used although I have seen boats moored along the outside from time to time. HWW!

these fun signs were for sale at the fruit stand

A shed by the ocean. A little battered by the elements and time but still standing! I know it doesn't look pretty to most but I think it has beauty in it own 'life well lived' kind of way.

Hope you are all living well and having a great Wednesday!

.

Sometimes it pays to look up.

A bit late on a Wednesday for posting, but what the heck.

I hope your Wednesday had intriguing windows.

This house was lived in until a year or two ago. I always thought they might fix it up, but the roof is in bad shape, the window frames are starting to rot and the lawn isn’t being mowed. The entire front porch is glassed in, which I think would be very hot.

I’d like to know if they are coming back because the wicker furniture on the porch looks very nice. They need to have a yard sale. (I added this as an afterthought).

HWW!

How do we want to live in the (near) future? In decent conditions as well as environmentally and climate friendly? How should we plan the cities of the future? How should we get from A to B? How will we work, and how will we feed the world? All of these and many more topics regarding "The Age of Man" are being debated at the Futurium, " a house of the future", and a project initiative of scientific institutions and networks of several business enterprises and foundations as well as the German Federal Government in Berlin. The Futurium is not a "museum" in the classical sense, but more of an "activity place" which houses an exhibition, and also a so-called "Futurium Lab" where visitors can activily test out some the exhibits. The Futurium opened in 2019 and is located alongside the banks of the river Spree, close to Berlin's Central Station, the Hauptbahnhof.

I've taken this image at the exhibition on the first floor of the Futurium. It's an HDR made of three images, processed in HDR Efex Pro. And since there are huge windows on the part of the building that is facing the Spree and the government district, it's also an image for Window Wednesday :)

HWW, Everyone, and have a safe and good second half of the week!

Not the house, me! I was on some back road in Richmond County, Virginia, about 40 miles from home. My old car doesn’t have GPS. I did recognize a couple route numbers that I thought would connect me back onto familiar roads. I also could have downloaded a GPS map on my phone. Instead I decided to backtrack the way I came. I am sure that cost me some extra time and mileage, but it was a pretty day for a drive.

This is an abandoned house on a very rural road. I don’t know why they are worried about trespassers because I only passed one car the entire time. HWW!

.. illuminated architeXture in HH .. for Crazy Tuesday 'LIGHTS' .. enjoy my friends:)

I haven't posted a image to Window Wednesday in a long time. This is actually a reflection of my kitchen window. I hope you like it. I added some texture in post edit. HWW

Arriving in Tampa on the Cross Bay Ferry which departed in St. Petersburg, FL. An hours ride for a fun day of exploring the sights along the Tampa Riverwalk.

Happy Window Wednesday!

(204/366) Catching up on my one photo each day project. I thought I'd missed a day, that would have been funny throwing myself out of my own group! HWW

You can't miss it! as you get off the ferry at Aigina's port and you look towards the town, that old 2 story building will definitely catch your eye. I don't know much about its history or why it was abandoned at the mercy of time and nature, I will say though that there was a sign in front of it saying that is under "renovation". As far as I remember, it has been at this condition since my first visit on the island, roughly 14 years ago. It definitely needs a lot of TLC and I think our pigeon friends don't help a lot to keep it in good shape. The windows and doors follow the typical architecture you'll find in houses on the island of Aigina. As many other people, when I see an old an abandoned building, almost haunted, there is something that draws me to take a photo. Happy Window Wednesday all! HWW
