Window Wednesday

We got 8 1/2" of snow last week!

This large enclosed area has so much going for it, particularly in this hot weather recently. Lots of colour, trees, benches, walls and windows! It was surprising that more people were not using it earlier when we passed but it was empty at this later time.

Another beautiful home in my hood, with great windows and awnings. I love window awnings.

God bless each of you who visits me here. Happy Window Wednesday.

A lovely window with loads of flowers on the sill. The garden is much the same, loads of flowers, it looks more like a jungle, but I bet the bees and bugs love it.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

This little cottage is on the main road in Belgrave South and I have long wanted to photograph it. So I stopped one day and tried the lensbaby. It has these lovely window boxes in the windows. Happy Window Wednesday

Don't you just LOVE Mona Lisa in the corner of the frame!

This is the real deal! Alpacas which produce the wool which provides endless opportunities for beautiful handmade projects! And yes, the turkey is the pet mascot (see below) . . .

Spotted this house while out looking at Halloween lawn/yard decor. They didn’t have any but the windows caught my eye!

Shot at dusk, window of old lead mine building, Ceredigion, Wales.

Couldn't resist placing this gorgeous watercolor of Richard's onto our window sill to capture two for one! We recently read that the male wren will construct a few nests for his mate's approval! We do think one has been accepted in our front window box which would be the second year in a row for such a nurturing environment!

An oldie but a goodie, from my balcony, looking through my hotel atrium windows at the sunset over the Potomac River and Washington, DC. Gaylord National Resort, National Harbor, MD.

Happy Window Wednesdays!

The owner of this building has turned a white wall into an interesting story painted by local graffiti artists.

This work is done by a local group of talented young artists called "Die Active" ..... here's from their website .....

Die Active is an art collective for the young blooded. Entering its sixth year of successful, in-depth arts education programming at Definitely Superior Art Gallery, this program is aimed at mentoring and supporting future young artists while creating unique and contemporary graffiti murals, publications, performances and public art.

Doing a random act of kindness recently, I had the occasion to go down the side of this neighbor's house (which is a few house down from me). Built the same year as mine ... 1925 ... I had the opportunity to see his side windows, the same as mine, same trim, same doo-dad hardware on the upper trim piece. I always wondered and pretty much thought it was hardware to hang a screen from. You see, 100 years ago they didn't have screens in their windows in these Florida cracker houses in The Packing District. And lo and behold, he's got the original screens, hung up and everything. Bless his heart he's having hard times, but he made my day and didn't even know it.

I want to have screens made again for my windows for the historic aesthetics (although I have new PGT WinGuard hurricane windows installed in mine). I just wonder where I'll ever find the hardware that goes on the screen part.

Anyway, interesting for me and I hope for you. Happy Window Wednesday.

PS October 2025 ... I sure do miss Happy Window Wednesdays and miss you all.

I can imagine this little plant shop somewhere in the country. I love the potting station. I need one and am thinking of getting one.
