To create this visual effect I used photogrammetry to digitize a skull I had sculpted from clay. I then rendered the Skull after creating an animation using Blender's, built-in camera tracker. I composited the render and the footage in Adobe After Effects where I did basic colour correction. I then colour graded the final render in Adobe Premiere Pro.
The actual mating response process has been described as an initial visual fixation on the female, followed by fluctuation of the antennae and a slow and deliberate approach. Abdominal flex displays with a flying leap on the back of the female are executed in order to mount her. The female lashes her antennae and there is rhythmic S-bending of the abdomen. During one experiment, mantids were observed in copulation for an average of six hours. The male flew away after mating.

45 Visual Library Books have been placed in Portsmouth Central Library and each has its own theme ranging from; Portsmouth, My City, When I Open My Eyes, Whilst I Was Waiting, Love, What’s in My Pocket and Memories. The intention is for you to feel free to explore the Visual Library Books and choose a theme that you like.

This is actually a picture of a nautical blanket of a lighthouse sewn into the fabric. I actually shot this in a dark room but for contrast at over 1000 iso. It was zoomed which created the storm effect. Shot was transferred to Corel and enamel was added to give it a painted effect. It was then transferred to Exposure 2 and given a simulated Kodak 100UC film effect.
