Three video clips of KiwiRail freight trains, the first shot about 10 Km south of Taihape on the North Island. In the second a clip, a train rolls to a stop at Oamaru on the South Island. The third clip, also shot in Oamaru. I was about to walk across the train line, when a train came along and I put my trusty camera to work.
The past few days southern California has been treated to some amazing sunsets. Tonight I headed to Mount Laguna (in the mountains of San Diego County) to film this sequence. This is 587 frames shot with a Canon 6D and Tokina 17-35mm lens. I compiled the timelapse using LRTimelapse and then used Blender VSE to add music and a title.
Background music is a snippet of "Night Radiance" by Maxim Kornyshev.
Bow Lake sits at an elevation of 1920 meters and spends most of the year locked away in ice. Unlike a lot of the other big lakes it is right beside the Icefields Parkway. In summer, this is a stunningly beautiful lake which has a terrific colour.

These birds frustrate me because they are always on the furthest side of the pond. I have yet to get a shot of the male that I like. I knew that the males had arrived a few days ago, after the females did, so I went to the park when there was a clearing in the weather. Today I decided that video might work better than a still, because the lens has more reach in video mode.

Osprey of the Jersey Shore | 2022
The Osprey (Pandion haliaetus), sometimes known as the Sea Hawk, Fish Eagle or Fish Hawk, is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey. It is a large Raptor, reaching more than 24 inches (60 cm) in length and a 71 inches (180 cm) wingspan. It is brown on the upper parts and predominantly greyish on the head and under parts, with a black eye patch and wings. In 1994, the osprey was declared the provincial bird of Nova Scotia, Canada.
