I honestly don't know how I've never posted this video on Flickr. I did put it on YouTube.
2022 was the autumn to end all autumns on the Missabe. Triple pumpkins, triple Missabe tunnels, C40s were EVERYWHERE. With the Maples peaking at Bachelor's Curve a train made up entirely of real Missabe equipment pulls the hill. You can see just how acclimated Erie was.
The keepers must have given him somefing good smelling on that hay, eh? Such a widldle cutie!

Well not literally you understand, as I require a considerable amount of upkeep. I cannot escape my New Romantic past - not that I want you understand! So do feel free to listen to a snippet from a-ha's live rendition of 'Take on me' which I was lucky enough to see at London's O2 last year. If you have a chance to see one of their farewell concerts in 2010 I strongly suggest you grab the opportunity. He can still get that top note, bless him!

This was where we stayed a month ago when we were visiting our son in WV. After a Saturday that was 45 degrees and rainy, we woke on Sunday morning to an absolutely beautiful day. This was the view right outside our room at the lodge.

Heard this from a movie and here's my attempt at it. I couldn't find any covers or sheet music; had to try to figure it out. I think I'm close.

Such a glorious night of color, such as I've rarely if ever seen.
Usually, the reds are almost invisible to the naked eye at night, but on this occasion they were so bright, seeing this color was easy with the naked eye.
However the camera saw so much more...
This cheeky little Lewin's Honeyeater (Meliphaga lewinii) stopped at a birdbath in a local park and just a few metres from me. I grabbed my phone and preyed it wouldn't fly away too soon. They're a small to medium sized bird, dark greenish grey in colour, with a creamy yellow gape (fleshy corners of the mouth). It has large, yellowish crescent-shaped ear patches. The bill is black and the eyes blue-grey.
Lewin's Honeyeater prefers the wetter parts of eastern Australia, from northern Queensland to central Victoria. They are found in both rainforest and wet sclerophyll forest, and often wanders into more open woodland.

After I climbed the hill to get milky way panorama shots, I decided to go to the reservoir and get a timelapse until morning. It was nice to have a clear night for all these star shots.

No Magpie Larks, or Peewees, were invited to this White-faced Pigeon party, and when they were done, there was nothing left for anybody. Not even the Crow, so loud and close, got so much as a seed.
