I don't think there can be many better things to make you feel warm inside than watching a Barn Owl hunting accross the fen in the morning sunshine.
He / she was actually moving pretty fast here, not actively looking for prey below.

A real treat this morning was finding the Arthur M. Anderson on the north side of Dock 1 in Two Harbors taking on a load of blast furnace trim (crushed raw taconite). This time of year there is only a few hours of good morning sun on this side of the dock. Use of the north side has been sporadic in recent years.

My boss got her blind, 88 year old, very opinionated, die-hard Republican father this new "Talking" watch. She ask me to set everything and find out how to make it "Speak" the time audibly. Here's a short video of how things went down. Sorry about the muffled, poor audio. My microphone is crappy on my work computer.
Today I went to Wolf Creek, which empties into Little River, which empties into the North Umpqua, which empties into the Main Umpqua, which empties into the sea at Reedsport, Oregon.
Audio on!!! Well this turned out amazing! Here is a vid of the beautiful Gabriella Jawson that we whipped up this evening. We just kinda winged it. Love it! Love the mood.. She looks amazing! Exceptionnellement pour ce week-end je poste 5 photos et une vidéo de la Belle Échasse Blanche prises dans la réserve ornithologique du Teich.....
Il était 11 h nous l'avons vue monter sur le monticule, et nous n'avons pas remarqué tout de suite qu'il y avait un œuf dessus, nous étions très contents du spectacle et ravis pour ce couple d'Echasses....
Dans l'après-midi nous sommes repassés au même endroit et nous avons constaté amèrement la disparition de l’œuf qui a été prédaté......Probablement par un Milan Noir qui depuis quelques temps déjà fait des ravages dans la réserve...

Today's episode brings us to the cold shore front of Lake Ontario, where a hungry Lesser Yellowlegs procures its breakfast. Over the duration of my time spent with the bird, it gobbled up quite an abundance of minnows and other small fish. This had been my first time seeing one, and the longer I spent with it, the closer it was willing to come. It was quite the experience! I hope you enjoy our time spent together

Qui la famosa - Villa Sticchi edificata da Pasquale Ruggieri a forma di Moschea.
Proseguiamo verso Tricase con la sua "Quercia Vallonea"
Secondo la leggenda servì da riparo a Federico II° ed alla sua corte.
O come la raccontano ... (a 100 cavalieri armati a cavallo)
Sta di fatto che per le sue dimensioni ... non si riesce di fotografarla per intero!
