Like millions of others, I spent the afternoon waiting to see America's first manned spaceflight mission in nine years.

A Union Pacific Glenwood Springs, Colorado to Salt Lake City, OCS train glides through Spanish Fork Canyon on July 1, 2025. This section of the canyon, nicknamed the "Red Narrows", hosts the Union Pacific (former D&RGW), Soldier Creek, and US Highway 6.
Plans are in place for UDOT to widen the roadway here to include four through lanes and a center median, which would effectly destroy the scenic beauty of this short section of the canyon.

Rainbow lorikeets are true parrots, within the Psittacoidea superfamily in the order Psittaciformes. The rainbow lorikeet or lorikeet (common name) is a species of parrot found in Australia. It is common along the eastern seaboard, from northern Queensland to South Australia. Its habitat is rainforest, coastal bush and woodland areas. They are true parrots of medium-size, with the length ranging from 25 to 30 cm, including the tail. The weight varies from 75 to 157 g. The plumage of the nominate race, as with all subspecies, is very bright. The head is deep blue with a greenish-yellow nuchal collar, and the rest of the upper parts (wings, back and tail) are green. The chest is orange/yellow. The belly is deep blue, and the thighs and rump are green. In flight a yellow wing-bar contrasts clearly with the red underwing coverts.
Gordonia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Theaceae, related to Franklinia, Camellia and Stewartia. Of the roughly 40 species, all but two are native to southeast Asia in southern China, Taiwan and Indochina. They are evergreen trees, growing to 10–20 m tall. The bark is thick and deeply fissured. The leaves are alternately arranged, simple, serrated, thick, leathery, glossy, and 6–18 cm long. The flowers are large and conspicuous, 4–15 cm diameter, with 5 (occasionally 6-8) white petals; flowering is in late winter or early spring. Another slideshow from Tasmania - this time of Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake.
The show looks at some scenery en route to Cradle Mountain and then the simply stunning Dove Lake circuit walk which follows the lake with Cradle Mountain often in the view!

I held my breath when I watched this! Squirrel (Cyril) was fine and I think they sorted out their differences in the end and just kept out of eachothers way.
