In memory of my Mum and in celebration of the life she gave me I dedicate this to my late Mum who was taken before I had the time to truly know her, but in the short time we had together, she instilled in me a set of values that keep me in good stead to this day and I believe the strength she showed in life she left behind as a legacy in me … Thank you Mum for giving me the gift of life. I was your unexpected birthday gift and I know that despite the many losses to our family we will all be reunited one day and until then I still feel your presence, your love and your light that will never be extinguished <3

DEAR MUM …

Dear Mum I still remember every word you ever said to me

and in my heart I have kept safe the sweetest memories

sometimes I open the virtual box

and read through the greetings cards

and fondly re-read the letters

and hear what I perceive to be your voice

but it is a sad fact of life that after death

the voice does not long stay in our memory

the face yes I remember your face and the gentle smile

and the blue, blue sparkling eyes

how can I not when I look into the mirror

and see the inherited gifts you gave to me

along with the unruly hair that the wind made dance

and catch the sun

I try to capture it in a chignon

in the faded velvet band that once was yours

but little wisps escape like smoke

and the sunlight surrounds it like a halo

I watch the butterflies dancing at this time of year

and remember

your love of nature that also you passed down to me

and one alights gently upon my shoulder just now

a messenger from Heaven a message from you and somehow

I just know that everything will turn out

just the way it's supposed to be

despite the weight of the world's tears

flowing through my mind

I try to be good and carry out

the lessons I learned at your knee

but dear Mum sometimes it's hard to breathe and hard to be …

now when the world is such a dark and saddened place

and people say that they cannot see their loved ones

I hope and pray that it may be only temporary

and I would give all I had to spend

just one more second holding you

Dear Mum there are so many very good people in this world

and only a very few who continue to do others wrong

I remember the lessons you and Dad taught to me

and the path I chose to walk with God

and I forgive them; find compassion and try to ignore

or if I can, correct their crooked song

I dismiss them from my thoughts today

and turn my thoughts to you

and I feel my hand in yours and the other one in Dad's too

as you swing me up above the highest tree

so that I may see the world as I once did

when I was four years old

sitting on my father's shoulders

and you stood smiling up at me

so when this crisis is finally over and people will be reunited

I will still be without you and Dad and half my family

this is my norm and has been for so long now

but Mum I do not mind it

for your love and God's surrounds me for all eternity.

With grateful thanks to Her Majesty's Coastguards, who were supposed to be only stationed at our private airport for one year, but are now a permanent fixture. At first I wondered how I would bear the noise of the helicopter hovering so closely over and near my house, but very soon I realised that you can grow used to anything and even come to love it and know that you would miss it if it were not there. They are everyday unsung heroes and I salute them and everyone who puts others lives before their own, not just during this current crisis, but always. God bless all.

This is the same Silver Fox we called Blackie when he was a small kit. At first I thought it was a stick he was tossing into the air but after time realized he had a snake he was throwing and pouncing on.

Red Foxes (and the Silver Morph) can learn to forage and hunt for themselves at approx 4 months and we did get to witness this for ourselves not only with him but his siblings as well. They were out hitting up bird nests, eating berries and chomping on old carcasses. Not once did mom deliver food...cool to see them all doing their best to figure it out.

This was early morning as he was practicing his pouncing and hunting skills, I'm glad I remembered to shoot some video of the action in the moment.

He didn't give me the time of day and was content going about his business; I consider myself lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

First et Asma ne se connaissaient pas avant mais ils ont rapidement formé un couple fusionnel. Ils ont enfin retrouvé leurs copines, les deux oursonnes, mais hier, elles sont restées obstinément vers leur loge, du moins le temps où j'étais dans l'espace Grand Nord.

Un soigneur a lancé les légumes par-dessus le filet dans une zone basse. Quelques-uns sont tombés à l'extérieur de la volière : il suffit aux orangs-outans de trouver un morceau d'écorce assez long pour les attirer contre le filet , d'un peu de patience et d'habileté, ce dont ils ne manquent pas : Banggi est un maitre en la matière.

Les orangs-outans ont droit à 5 repas par jour, parfois 6 l'été : légumes variés, branchages, feuilles de bananier à l'occasion.

Jamais de fruits car les fruits issus de l'agriculture, ont été modifiés pour correspondre au gout des humains, ils sont beaucoup trop sucrés pour les singes.

Our pesky moose is getting into trouble. Turn up sound and watch to end of footage when the moose shakes off the ladder and comes back to inspect the man-made thing that she thinks attacked her. (Actually, it was the other way around, she attacked the ladder.)

The sound makes for the full experience - and you will get a feel for what it is like to live with Alaska's wildlife.

A young Australian cattle dog and our 2 Labradors playing a the beach. A stick makes a great toy. After much chasing and tug-of-war, the cattle dog finally claims the stick as his prize. Our older dog was more of a spectator to the fun than an active participant.

Unfortunately I didn't have the camera straight at the beginning.

The burial complex was carved into the rocks around 2,000 years ago, featuring four pyramid-shaped pillars.

It is an ancient tomb and funeral hall carved into the sandstone rock in the 1st century AD.

This amazing monument is located at the start of the trail, 2 Km from where the Treasury is.
