Outfit from Madame Noir
A young Australian cattle dog and our 2 Labradors playing a the beach. A stick makes a great toy. After much chasing and tug-of-war, the cattle dog finally claims the stick as his prize. Our older dog was more of a spectator to the fun than an active participant.
Unfortunately I didn't have the camera straight at the beginning.

18 Seconds ~ Sound on.
The Old Inventor employed this Interpreter during his travels to one of the outlying planets in his time travel machine. The Old Inventor told him about our October Holidays, and he willingly obliged to shape-shift his appearance for the occasion.
Stopped raining long enough for a short walk on the beach:) Really windy today and the surf was roaring.

End of the adventure.
I was able to take a series of 5 photographs which I assembled in a video showing the jump of this fence.
In my opinion, this fence measures about 1m40 and we can see that the deer exceeds this height of about 40 to 50 cm, which makes a jump of about 1m90 without any backswing.
In the first image which is a video montage we can see the decomposition of the jump.
Have a nice day

Sora Rail caught slowly feeding along a shoreline; illustrates how neat they are and yet how elusive they are; vocalization helps alert one to their presence but that is not very frequent – sometimes only a single call. July 28 2016.
The photos are from Woodlawn in Santa Monica. The nest was found by weezerbee in Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area.
This is the same Silver Fox we called Blackie when he was a small kit. At first I thought it was a stick he was tossing into the air but after time realized he had a snake he was throwing and pouncing on.
Red Foxes (and the Silver Morph) can learn to forage and hunt for themselves at approx 4 months and we did get to witness this for ourselves not only with him but his siblings as well. They were out hitting up bird nests, eating berries and chomping on old carcasses. Not once did mom deliver food...cool to see them all doing their best to figure it out.
This was early morning as he was practicing his pouncing and hunting skills, I'm glad I remembered to shoot some video of the action in the moment.
He didn't give me the time of day and was content going about his business; I consider myself lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

It's rather easy for me to get sidetracked while gardening. Sometimes all it takes is for a few birds to gather or a breeze to cause a pretty flower to sway. I am always stopping to stare at something around here.
I hope your day is beautiful, rain or shine. Happy snapping.
The back-and-forth movement of the hindwings directs a predator's attention to the less vital part of the hairstreak's body. It is better to have a chunk missing from the pretty wings than to give up the head.
Red-banded Hairstreak (Calycopis cecrops) on a warm (82 F) and pleasantly breezy November day at the U.S. National Arboretum.
Nine other butterfly species observed including two White-M Hairstreaks, four Azures, Ocola Skippers, Fiery Skippers, Sachems and one Checkered Skipper.
