Being here reminded me very much of being at a county fair or a carnival. The odors of molten corn syrup and the sight of heavily saturated colors.
Lots of food tags today on the way to the Barc Cat Fair. These were taken walking from Greenpoint to N 1st & Wythe in Williamsburg. Some have been around for a while, some are new.
And last you can apply some type of syrup over the sandwich. Most people use mayple, or some sort of breakfast syrup. I'm not really a fan of those types of syprup so I kept with my theme and put chocolate syrup on mine.
My friend Erica runs a food blog (she recently got on Tumblr!) and she made apple cinnamon pancakes yesterday and asked me to photograph for her.

The concentration of Verglas is especially high due to our pressing at temperatures below -10º and because of the noble rot, which decreases water content without affecting sugar in the grape.

Gusto Catering did an awesome job with our event, providing a local (100 km) menu. These cookies were made with local syrup, local oats, and even local flour. YUM.
