The beginning of the Syrup process. I had to try some Sorghum Syrup and I like it.
It is much like Cane Syrup, another favorite of mine.

Since it's Blackberry Syrup and not milk? What is it with little boys sitting the cap on top and not screwing it on? Instead of getting mad, I got my camera. :)
Took the grandkids out for a drive this afternoon and noticed these maple syrup buckets on the trees... stopped to take a photo. Still a lot of snow on the ground.
When I saw the theme of sweet spot, I was thinking golden syrup or strawberries. Then I read on.
This image is taken on a Canon EOS 5D MkIII with a Sigma 105mm F2.8 macro lens. The sweet spot is between f5.6 and f8. This is image is taken at f8

A southbound BNSF local rolls along between Cottonwood and Green Valley, MN. The main customer they serve is the large ADM corn processing plant that lies just a few miles ahead in Marshall. They've undergone expansion in the last couple of years to increase production of various starches for animal feed, but there's still a good amount of corn syrup being made that will be shipped out in those tank cars.
Our Daily Challenge: Sticky
This is one challenge I wish I hadn't done or at least I wish I had chosen a different subject. This was way harder than I imagined, it's no wonder they don't use real food in all of those food shots you see in magazines.
I had already had chicken parmesan for lunch so having to eat these too was a bit of chore but I got about half way though them. There were five pancakes there and let me tell you, you need a lot of sticky syrup for that many pancakes.
Maple Syrup
Grade A | Golden Color and Delicate Taste
Maple Sugaring season is over. I made a little over 8 gallons this year.
When my sweet tooth starts to ache I’ll turn some of the syrup into either maple cream, sugar or maple/peanut butter fudge.
I’d sell some on-line but shipping costs are prohibitive. If you want some the best thing to do is find some at your local grocery store.
No one’s syrup is better than another’s in theory (but I think mine is)
Here's a photo of Marc "Tapper" Kenyon, working hard in his sugar shack, making delicious maple syrup! There's nothing like the smell of the steam that comes off the boiling sap! We visited Adirondack Gold Maple Farm in Athol, New York, USA on March 12, 2012--the first day of Thurman Maple Days--three weekends in March, 2012 (March 10-11, 17-18, 24-25), visit 3 maple sugar farms & Martin's Lumber (lumber, paper bead jewelry, & stained glass stepping stones). The four locations are open 10 am-4 pm. Valley Road Maple Farm (just down the road from Martin's) is, also, open for pancake breakfast from 9 am-1 pm. Adirondack Gold Maple Farm is located at 90 Bear Pond Road in Athol (Warren County), New York, USA (near Lake George in the Adirondacks). Check below for more information.
I understand that 2019 will be Tapper's last maple season. Hope to see him, when I visit Thurman!
Just like you remember?
In winter my mum used to make a big pan of Scott’s porridge oats for us 5 kids for breakfast, before school.
Then we used to put this syrup on it. It came in a green tin back in the day.
A sure sign that it will soon be Spring in a maple grove near Alderley, Wisconsin where taps are in place and buckets hung for the collecting of tree sap to be processed into sweet maple syrup. ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©
After returning home from dropping off my son at the airport and my trip to Multnomah Falls, my wife and I went out to brunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Busick Court. We go the 'lucky' seats in the back of the room near where they store supplies. The syrup bottles caught my attention here.
What'll they think of next?

Macro Monday: Styling Food on a Fork.
