My Twitter Bee quilt in progress. I couldn't help doing a little mini-layout with the squares I have so far. I love it HARD.
Earlier this month, I cut down a TON of strips and prepped a bunch of paper templates/center strings. Now for the fun part -- a sewing binge!
the spiderweb so far.
This makes it kind of twin sized - 55 x 77 inches. The 77 inch side is actually the width, I have to sew more rows on to the 55 inch side. The original plan was to do it a 7 x 8 setting, but now I think it might be a 7 x 7 setting. And then use the spare blocks on the back.
Frozen Fever Anna has been deboxed. Anna is standing, supported by her included display stand. She is carrying her clock accessory, balanced on her right arm, with the orange string tied around the clock and her left hand.
I bought my Frozen Fever Anna Limited Edition 17'' Doll from my local Disney Store on her release day, Tuesday November 3, 2015. She is #343 of 5000. I love everything about this doll. She has tinsel in her hair, but unlike the March 2015 Summer Anna doll, whose tinsel was loose and messy looking, this FF Anna has the tinsel perfectly in place. Her hairdo is very similar to that of the Coronation Anna doll, plus she has three satin ribbons coming down from her bun. She has embroidered and jeweled sunflowers in her skirt, and underneath she as a double layered yellow tulle petticoat. She has green tights, like the Harrods Coronation Anna doll, but no bloomers. Finally she has a clock accessory that is a birthday gift from Elsa, with an orange string attached to it and her other hand. She also has a bracelet, a brooch on her collar, a little vest, and a jeweled sunflower hair clip.
I show the doll boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. I also show her with FF Elsa and other comparable dolls.

I'm afraid I am sick of making these blocks, and I have 35 more 12" blocks to go. Ugh.
This was based on this quilt. www.filminthefridge.com/2009/04/24/a-colorful-string-quilt/
(Huge bonus points if you can guess what music this is resting on. Clue: it's a violin concerto. Clue #2: it's the 3rd movement of 3.)
I'd noticed that the A string on my violin was looking rather worn close to the peg, and it'd been about a year since I last switched my strings. So since we have a concert in a couple of weeks, I replaced my then-current strings (Pirastro Tonica brand) with Dominant strings (my usual brand) a couple of days back.
Imagine my surprise when I unwound the A string and saw that it was actually BROKEN under the purple wrapping end that went around the peg! Seriously, there was only ONE metal strand still holding it together under the purple. I'm astounded it didn't snap a month ago. I took it down and showed my non-musician roommates, who were like, "whoa, dude."
Anyway, it feels good to have new strings. May these not come close this to snapping any time soon.
Another one of the guard spiders, it makes a smaller orb web, and puts its victims on display (the spider is in the middle of the group), saving them up for later meals.
There is a third spider that makes a more sheltered web among the lower leaves of the plants, but she was shy, and wouldn't come out of hiding for her portrait.

The first two pairs of stringers went in without any dramas. The rebates already cut in the stem needed nuancing a little so that the slot tilted downwards a bit- easily achieved with handsaw and chisel. The angle on the leading edge of the stringer was easily scribed by running a pencil along the stem itself, marking a line parallel to the notch a little in front of the stem. This extra length caused by the thickness of the flat carpenter's pencil proved to be about right for good length when the stringer was tucked into its slot.
I'm working on a string quilt for a friend who is having a baby soon. Samantha's quilt inspired me to rummage through my scrap bin. oh and this quilt too by katxn and this one by Rickrack and Ribbons
Not sure if they sold it new. The rear plate carried a tag saying Pollitt Howell Road Garage Ltd, Exeter.
A shot of the grounds at Gold Mountain Manor in the evening. I love string lights and they had SO MANY, and I hadn't experimented much with bokeh other than accidentally having it in the background sometimes. I really liked the smattering of bokeh from the lights that extends across the whole photo.
