LYON WANDERINGS.
'La Ficelle' ('The String') - one of several funicular railways which forms part of the Lyon Metro system. View of an upward train through the cab window of a downward train at the intermediate stop Minimes.
From the Lyon Metro map, this seems to be part of the Line D system even though it is separate from the main non-funicular part of that line. The funicular runs between Vieux Lyon (Cathédrale St-Jean) at the bottom, and St Just.

It's hard to be two and hungry when dinner isn't until 1 o'clock and you're used to being fed and put down for a nap by that time. This was Thanksgiving, and it was string cheese to the rescue (sort of -- she might have also had a banana).
One more in the comments (mid-chew).

One of those ongoing projects where I do a couple now and then since I have to wait for the scrap bin to fill up with strips from other projects. The blocks are 10" square.
Das ist keine Kunst, sondern ein gewöhnlicher Strick im Vatikanischen Museum.
That´s not Art. It´s a normal string in the Vatican Museum.
Just a sort of update on Clay Allan’s status. It took a LOT of sculpting and carving and refining but I think I’m liking the direction he’s going in. He’s not entirely perfect but hey, it’s my first ever attempt at a bjd with more than five joints and i’m not going to mass produce him for resin so I’m trying not to fuss too much on getting him perfect.
He’s only test strung with pipe cleaners but the joints work well enough and I’m more or less happy with my mediocre sculpting lol.
of course I’m dreading sculpting his hands…

Sandra Strait wrote about the Landscape String here: lifeimitatesdoodles.blogspot.com/2013/05/using-landscapes...
Always inspired by Sandra's art and techniques, I decided to give it a whirl. Instead of using a photo or painting, I simply sketched a simple landscape and then tangled away.
Mine, of course, isn't anything much compared to the beauty of Sandra's but it was fun and I'll definitely be doing this again!
Thanks for looking.

All of my work today came down to a simple piece of string. Was the floor level, or not...

The perceived quality of street music performances vary from uninteresting to captivating and everything in between amongst spectators and passers by. Some people would leave this excellent harpist entirely unnoticed where others would be stopped in their tracks and engage themselves with every aspect of the music, the musician and the instrument.

View of the city of Boston and Boston Airport. from Winthrop Beach. I got there a bit too late. The sun was already setting. But the reflection of lights from the city is still great. Long exposure. The string of lights on the left are actually lights from an airplane flying off.
Early upload today because I'll be out drinking tonight.
But when I get home, boy you are gonna get it.
Happy 'Wife-Beater Wednesday'.

A string of springs runs right through this country.Knowledge of these springs has been passed down through generations of Aboriginal people since ancient times. It was a path that was welltravelled whether for cultural ceremonies or trading purposes. And the Aboriginal people passed their knowledge on to explorers and settlers. ‘It isn’t the straightest route, but it’s the only one if you want to survive’The Track has many stories to tell. And water is at the heart of all of them.
•
This is the path of ancient Aboriginal trade routes, where traders hopped from one spring
to another, carrying materials from the FlindersRanges deep into central Australia and back The string of springs following the Track made it possible for John McDouall Stuart to complete the first crossing of Australia’s interior from south to north in 1862;
•
The overland telegraph was constructed along this pathway, linking Australia to the world for the first time;
•
This was the route of the Great Northern Railway, which made the land of the Northern Territory accessible for white settlement;
•
And this is pastoral country, where Sidney Kidman and others developed their leases such
as Anna Creek Station. All of this has only been possible because of the
waters of the Great Artesian Basin that come to the surface along the Track, creating the ‘string OF SPRINGS

String Lake early on a peaceful spring morning in the Tetons with Mt. Moran just visible in the background. String Lake is a narrow lake, 1.3 mi (2.1 kilometers) with a maximum width of .2 miles (.32 kilometers). In reality, it is an extremely slow moving river that connects Leigh Lake in the north with Jenny Lake to the south.
