Two Delaware State Troopers handle a motor vehicle accident on I-95.
Valley of Fire State Park, in the Mojave Desert, lies 50 miles / 80 km north of Las Vegas. The park’s fire-red Aztec sandstone formations derive from the creation of a desert through shifting sand dunes, over 150 million years ago; subsequently, geological uplifting and faulting, and extensive wind / water erosion have created the present landscape. Iron-oxides impart the characteristic fire-red colour. Other significant rock formations include, limestones, shales, and conglomerates.
Had a fun time visiting Eastern State Penitentiary. Many dark / creepy shots! Had to shoot at high ISO and low focal length as I did not carry my tripod.
I liked this picture because the cell block was closed off, so no people in the shot. I think it's cool how the wide angle accentuates the long corridor with cell after cell after cell.
As a beacon of hope, there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

It's amazing what at 500mm with a 1.4x converter on it can do to a background ... that is if you can hold that bazooka still! This is from Thanksgiving on the river at South Llano River State Park.
In mid-July, my husband's veggie garden is still in pretty good shape. Later on, the weeds will get the upper hand [and I will be laboring in gardens of my own]. Squash and potatoes have their own garden, since they take up so much space.

Dekema State is an old estate, country house, that is now a museum.
It is the center of my little village.
It has a beautiful garden with trees, fruits, flowers, very well kept.
I walk here every day.

Bay mud reflects the orange twilight during the extremely low King Tide. Seen from the mouth of Strawberry Creek, where it empties into the heavily silted South Sailing Basin. The San Francisco skyline glows brightly and crisply. This skyline extends from Rincon Hill on the left, to the Transamerica Pyramid on the right, with Salesforce Tower and Sutro tower quite prominent in the middle. This skyline is even seen through the windows of the closed Hs Lordships restaurant on the far right. The single tower of the easter span of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge is perfectly exposed. A few stars can be seen through the thin dark clouds, and a few shorebirds wade in the shallows.
The tide was extremely low, about -2 feet, during January King Tides. The sun was 9.8 degrees below the horizon, in the middle of Nautical Twilight, 39 minutes after sunset. This spot is near the Brickyard Cove section of the McLaughlin Eastshore State Seashore in Berkeley, California.
Columbus State University is a public university in Columbus, Georgia. Founded as Columbus College in 1958, the university was established and is administered by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

believe it or not, this sheet was completely wet. i was hoping for it to look more transparent and stick to the skin, but i suppose it needed to be more wet and stretched etc..
despite what i said about thoroughly planning my photos, this wasn't as planned out as i would have hoped. i am still quite pleased by the result i got from a fairly spontaneous shoot, though :)
Plumes of water vapour from the nearby Power Station are clearly visible in the sub zero temperatures.
With more than 32,000 acres, Itasca State Park boasts the headwaters of the Mississippi River, over 100 lakes, and large tracts of old-growth white and red pine forest. It is also Minnesota’s oldest state park, established in 1891.
Bay mud reflects the orange sky, sparkling and textured, complementing the San Francisco skyline. This mud is the South Sailing Basin of the Berkeley Marina, and the low tide makes it easy to see just how heavily silted it is now. The building on the right, just beyond the mud, is the now-closed Hs Lordships restaurant.
The tide was extremely low, -1.2 feet, during this January's New Moon King Tides. The sun was 9.9 degrees below the horizon, about 51 minutes after sunset, during Nautical Twilight. Seen from a spur of the San Francisco Bay Trail, in McLaughlin Eastshore State Park, managed by East Bay Regional Park District. Berkeley, California.
