State of Grace is a beautiful multicolored rose with shades of pink to gold and copper. She is a standout and excellent cut flower. She will add elegance and old world style and grace to any garden.
Northwest Wisconsin
Some photo archiving from our autumn trip to Northern Minnesota and back down through western Wisconsin. This beautiful falls was just off Highway 35 south of Superior, WI.
A beautiful fall day for exploring state parks, back roads and scenic treasures tucked back in the woods!

Had a fun time visiting Eastern State Penitentiary. Many dark / creepy shots! Had to shoot at high ISO and low focal length as I did not carry my tripod.
I liked this picture because the cell block was closed off, so no people in the shot. I think it's cool how the wide angle accentuates the long corridor with cell after cell after cell.
As a beacon of hope, there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
One of the larger State Parks in Maryland, it is long and slender reaching across a good portion of the area east of Baltimore, City. Late Fall in this photo, showing some remaining color and soon what winter will be looking like ... until snow falls.
Entrance to the State Library Victoria, on Swanston Street, Melbourne. I love the combination of the stately building with the patterned tiles in the entrance way.

Thought I would get a shot of the Capitol Building during the day. I'm usually doing city shots at night or morning. This is an odd time for me LOL

It's amazing what at 500mm with a 1.4x converter on it can do to a background ... that is if you can hold that bazooka still! This is from Thanksgiving on the river at South Llano River State Park.
We took a very quick trip to the coast last weekend, primarily to take the kids to the Aquarium. I managed to get one sunset in for photography. This was taken at Garrapata State Park, just after sunset.

Just filling out the Tops of 2018 album with on that was long ago shared on FB but not here. I'm ready to go back now that icicle season is upon us! Here is the caption I wrote at the time:
Here is another I like from a couple winters ago that was on FB but not Flickr.
This is the story I wrote at the time:
It All Comes Together - Part 2
So after this long and frustrating chase that I drowned on about in this post:
facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2001012096865568&id...
I wasn't quite sure what to do next. Knowing that no eastbounds had left Selkirk yet I finally took time for a leisurely (and phenomenally good!) lunch in Chatham. Then after lunch I headed back to CP175 just east of the downtown core and saw that it was still all red.
So I checked in with Dan P. Lowe and he said Q424 (that normally meets the 425 I chased) was still not out of SK. Well great, my chance for shooting my first ever freight at State Line tunnel was looking less and less likely. But I figured I still had two hours of usable light at that point and Chatham had a brewery I'd never been to before soo....perfect way to kill time!
I nursed a flight of four beer samples for a while (had to be responsible since I was solo) and enjoyed some craft beer I'd never tried and burned up another hour. At this point I headed over to the signals again and this time they were lined up and cleared for an eastbound! I pestered Dan again who confirmed that Q425 was by Castleton 15 min prior and headed my way. Perfect, I had my eastbound freight. Well I headed to the tunnel, climbed down and set up. And...well if you've seen this post you know how it turned out:
facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1994726437494134&id...
But there was more!
Luckily in my excitement and pure high after finally getting the freight I wanted with far more dramatic icy conditions than I expected I just had to share it right away! So instead of climbing back up and departing immediately I walked into the cool darkness of the abandoned original 1840 north bore to download and edit a quick photo.
While in the tunnel about 10 min after getting that shot I thought I heard something. It took me a minute with the sound muffled by the granite before I realized that it was another eastbound! After seeing none all day and having no intel this second one right on the block of the first took me totally by surprise.
But thanks to the fact that I delayed my exit I had just enough time to turn around and run back out of the tunnel, fumble with my settings and get these shots of eastbound Q426.
So after a lifetime of never shooting a freight at the State Line Tunnels and a long and frustrating day of missed opportunities the Railfan Gods rewarded me for my dedication in the end!

Dekema State is an old estate, country house, that is now a museum.
It is the center of my little village.
It has a beautiful garden with trees, fruits, flowers, very well kept.
I walk here every day.
Love it
I was looking through old photos...memories...so much memories.
I decided to recreate one that meant something for me.
A state of mind...
Other window, other trees, other country, sometimes feels like another planet, some changes, because life modifies you but most of...same me.
And yes, the trees also know everything here.
