The Legend of Dead Horse Point (Source: stateparks.utah.gov/parks/dead-horse/discover/)
Dead Horse Point is a peninsula of rock atop sheer sandstone cliffs. The peninsula is connected to the mesa by a narrow strip of land called the neck. There are many stories about how this high promontory of land received its name.
According to one legend, around the turn of the century the point was used as a corral for wild mustangs roaming the mesa top. Cowboys rounded up these horses, herded them across the narrow neck of land and onto the point. The neck, which is only 30-yards-wide, was then fenced off with branches and brush. This created a natural corral surrounded by precipitous cliffs straight down on all sides, affording no escape. Cowboys then chose the horses they wanted and let the culls or broomtails go free. One time, for some unknown reason, horses were left corralled on the waterless point where they died of thirst within view of the Colorado River, 2,000 feet below.

Went up the Rockefeller Building when I was in New York with friends. We randomly timed it perfectly for sundown. The view is epic. Better to go up the Rockefeller and actually see the Empire State Building I think. Plus there isn't loads of hassle from people trying to sell you tickets at the bottom.

At least we think it's a crabapple. It grew here on its own, and every year it has a big crop of little "apples" the size of a marble.
I was pleased with these shots, since the bokeh is way better than I'm usually able to get.

The park offers a variety of recreational opportunities including picnicking, golf, ball fields, biking, hiking, hunting, horseback riding, and fishing. Evansburg State Park is near Collegeville and Norristown just off Pennsylvania Route 363.

Located on the shores of Big Bay de Noc of the northern part of Lake Michigan, this historic state park has a well preserved ghost town along with some hiking trails. The dolomite cliffs make it quite scenic!

During my hike late yesterday afternoon along the trail and Gunpowder Falls State Park, I was taking a lot of captures along the river with the 9 Stop ND and stacked on top a thin CPL filter. This allowed for some nice captures in the 6 to 15 second range along the river's edge, and given the leaves were not moving much in the still air worked very well.
Here I was heading deeper into the woods along the trail to get further down the river and liked that sunlight in the trees. I stopped on the trail and composed this shot. Just as I was about to shoot it for 15 seconds, low and behold a breeze kicked in and stirred the leaves. I could have screwed off the 9 stop ND and put the CPL back on ... but is was much easier (being lazy) to adjust the ISO from 100 to 1600 and shorten the shutter to 2 seconds, which was short enough not to show any leaf movement. I also know that the ISO 1600 performance on the 5DMIII sensor would not be an issue.

North Carolina's Smoky Mountains at the Triple Falls area.
The DuPont State Forest is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains between Hendersonville and Brevard, North Carolina. Its 10,400 acres of forest feature four major waterfalls on the Little River and several on the Grassy Creek.
The original 7600 acre forest was established in 1996 through a generous bargain sale from the DuPont Corporation. In 2000, the Forest was expanded by two property additions, including the spectacular 2200 acre tract in the center of the Forest containing High Falls, Triple Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls.
