The ice you see in the mountains is a part of Vatnajökull
witch is the biggest glacier in Europe by volume!
NS C40-9 8797 curves off the Nickel Plate onto the Indiana Harbor Belt at State Line Interlocking with auto racks for Gibson Yard.
I suspect these racks are loaded with new Fords built at the nearby plant and the train will be mixed at Gibson for delivery nationwide.
Built in 1992, this C40-9 was rebuilt as NS AC44CM 4117 in 2018.
Wandered Over to walk through the Cherry Blossoms at The Capitol - too late! They were done blooming, :-( Oh well; next year.
Fall Creek Falls...the main waterfall in the state park by the same name. This was taken from the observation deck in 2006.

A beautiful creek near the Great Sacandaga Lake. Almost ran off the road trying to look for a nice little creek to photography. The fresh New York air was amazing. The temperature was a nice 61 degrees in June, That's crazy!!

New York City lights and reflections with the Empire State building viewed at night under the deck of the George Washington Bridge. I know I posted a similar image before, but when i was working on this variation, I looked it up on the map and found out that the Empire State building is actually around 10 miles from this viewpoint! I've never seen it up close, but it must be quite a building :)
I have been battling some photography burnout lately, so I forced myself to get out and about today as the sky was looking quite nice for some summer photographs. Ultimately it was a good trip that helped light the creative spark a bit.
Here, the curve in State Street gives way to this view of the I-70 bridge in Belle Vernon.

There are several other chandeliers like this in the building, but this one gets the best location.
Not sure if this house is still lived in, but I doubt it. There's another one just behind it that had nice new snowmobiles in front of it, so I think this one is left to its own devices. I loved the big trees seeming to reach for it.
I still have a few editing jobs to finish, but within the next month or so, I'll be able to really start looking at all the 2024 travels. Just a few photos have been cherrypicked here and there. Like this one, from Letchworth State Park, located in western New York.
On this morning, I woke up around 3AM and drove to the park in hopes of catching some moonlit scenes. With at least moderate success, I stuck around through morning for the first train crossing of Genesee Arch Bridge, as seen from the Upper Falls.

Marsh Creek State Park is a 1,705 acres Pennsylvania state park in Upper Uwchlan and Wallace Townships, Chester County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The park is the location of the 535-acre man-made Marsh Creek Lake. With an average depth of 40 feet (73 feet at its deepest), the lake is stocked with fish and is a stop for migrating waterfowl. Marsh Creek State Park is 2 miles (3.2 km) west of Eagle on Pennsylvania Route 100.
