With my Nikon D7500, I am using appiture and shutter speed overrides in lieu of preprogrammed camera settings for a majority of my images. Feel like I am getting richer color and crisper images.... It's a lot easier than film years with my old Nikon where you wait sometimes weeks before you know your results.

Nothing like the sun setting behind dangling moss to give the night that touch of romance.

A handheld long exposure shot to capture the movement of the carousel. Not travelling with the tripod at the moment, as A I travel light and only with a carry on, and B, in the past I have taken it away for months on end and never used it! In front of the Royal Palace, Madrid, Spain.

After a few unsuccessful attempts over the years I have finally made it to Madrid. Loving the architecture here, as in most of Spain.

My technique is alway the same:

Three exposures -2EV, 0, +2EV and then temperature adjustement using Lightroom and layering with luminosity mask using photoshop. Removal of distracting stuff with the stamp tool or patch tool. High pass filter to enhance details. Then saturation, contrast selectively control, dodge and burn where need...

DRI stand for Dynamic Range Increase. Three RAW files are used to achieve this. Rather than using a software like Photomatix for instance, I simply use mask to blend, my own way, the light, dark and normal shot with Photoshop and Lightroom.. To me, It looks more natural than the usual HDR treatment that I would normally applied.

Dodge and burn là où requis...

...the sun is sinking down among the Birch trees...at 2.21 PM in the afternoon on a november day..

On my way home tonight from the Dry Ice Factory with a ton of potential images and the setting sun was hitting the Flatbrook, exploding with this magic light. A contact friend of mine Sally, is all about this kind of light, backlit wonder - I thought of her and thanked her.

Pretty much straight up with minimal adjusts and log work.

It always amazes me that the majority of people don't look up and pay any attention to our amazing skies...

I saved the best for last. Well you can stand on the tracks and get run over by the train to get the Sun ball dead center of the track. But I'm Pretty sure this worked ok. In the 3 min's it took the train to pass the Sun had set, But I'm ok with that as well. High shutter speed and Low F stop & ISO400 give the photo the Dark orange affect

I know I've posted it before, but this photo is so important to me.

I'm on a roll with astrophotography this week, after catching the Northern Lights I have now managed to photograph the sunspots on the amazing red setting sun this evening. I thought it might have been dirt on the sensor!

Ekla Cholo Re is a famous Bengali song written by Rabindranath Tagore.

It exhorts the listener to continue his or her journey, despite abandonment or lack of support from others. The song is often quoted in the context of political or social change movements; Mahatma Gandhi cited it as one his favorite songs.
