(re: this set) I'm enjoying the fact that there is a little light left by the time I get home from work these days. I was drawn to the strong shadows on the bare crape myrtle trunks, initially, then Charlie jumped up. The light was interesting with a cool blue light along his right side, and the very warm yellow light on the trunks.

I know I already posted a photo very similar, but I like this one better :-)

As seen looking down the Leeds Liverpool Canal in Lydiate, Merseyside. The canal was flat calm almost like glass reflecting the fire in the setting sun.
De zon ging onder op een ijskoude dag in februari na een wandeling langs de bevroren havens en grachten van Hoorn. De bekendste bezienswaardigheid van de stad, de Hoofdtoren, is te zien in de verte.

The sun was setting on a freezing day in February after a walk along the frozen harbors and canals of Hoorn. The city's most famous landmark, the Hoofdtoren, can be seen in the distance.

My New Monkey Mate
This has been a long, busy and uninspiring day. That is until I found this little guy in my mailbox today. So we sat together in the setting sun.
Thank you snowing_indoors. My new monkey mate arrived safe and sound. I promise to take good care of him.

Taken August 20, 2002. You can see a very large sunspot on the surface (right) of the setting sun. Lighthouse on left horizon. (In Memory of my Dog "Donna" 1996-2007)

a bloom bathing in the glow of a setting sun.
this image comes from my slide collection - circa mid 1980s.
Took this on a fun, strange evening group shoot when a bunch of us were chasing the super-moon.
Explored - peaked at #94.
God seems to have kept a canvas for himself to enthral us and make us realise that there’s nothing in your world that’s that vacant, you just need to fill them up with your colours, with your brushstrokes…

Wacker Quay is one of the few places where people can enjoy stunning views and free public access to the River Lynher.
The quay was first established in the mid 19th century as an agricultural dock complete with lime kiln.
In 1886, the site changed completely when a military railway was constructed. It ran from the quay, along the river and up a steep incline to the twin forts of Scraesdon and Tregantle, (part of the 19th century fortifications of Plymouth). The quay would have been a very different place then, bustling and noisy, with rows of barges tied up between the two, just still visible, piers ready for unloading.
