Taken at First Vermilion Lake in Banff National Park. This is probably the most photographed spot in the park.

"Along the wintry skyline,
Crowning the rocky crest,
Stands the bare screen of hardwood trees
Against the saffron west, —
Its gray and purple network
Of branching tracery
Outspread upon the lucent air,
Like weed within the sea."
by Bliss Carman

My last image that day, before we had to dash back to our accommodation, because the sun was setting rapidly & the gates would be closing at sunset !! We were in Etosha National Park, Namibia & were staying at a marvellous Restcamp, called Namutoni Fort ,originally a true desert fort.

As the light of the setting sun turned the grass around the heathland pool golden, the toads continued to make their amorous calls - which I'm certain would have continued well into the night. Spawning only just under-way, they had much to occupy their time ... ;-)
The sun sets over the mountains in Waterton Lakes National Park. This Park is located on the Alberta and BC border as well as the Canada and USA border. This is one of my favourite National Parks in Canada.

It's been a long haul but finally some warm rays of hope today in the cold winter, plus a path to healing and reconciliation. To my American friends a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

The setting sun paints a glow over this river scene taken in the Duoro region of Portugal. Autumn color accents the trees in November.

A Chiffchaff in the light of the setting sun.
Märchenhaft.
Ein Zilpzalp im Licht der untergehenden Sonne
Taken at Southsea Bandstand last night, at sunset. It was one of those right time right place moments. I was lucky to catch the sun in the centre before it disappeared.

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will
.....

some years ago on my way home i saw this tree with the sun going down in the background. The scene looked awesome and so I stopped the car and took this picture.

Requesting suggestions for a desktop PC. Tried lots of different ones...so many are geared for the gamer and not so much towards the photographer. Appreciate your feedback.
Thanks

Our 400+ miles drive home from Edinburgh yesterday was absolutely mesmerising thanks to first frost and a landscape that looked spectacular with its changed colours and the glorious light of the setting sun. There is something about a cold, sunny winter day in open landscape which always gets to me. I so love this furtive beauty.
Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!

We had a lovely getaway to Pender Island for a few days. The beaches were quiet and calm.
In 1911, the island was split into two by a man made canal, and a one lane bridge takes you across from the South island to the North Island.
I took this on the ferry coming back home.
I am way behind on commenting - will try to catch up with your latest images :)
