I met up with friends to shoot the sunset in Pismo Beach. Note that old dilapidated staircase....it's always been a mystery to me.

When in need of tranquility or a respite from a stressful day,

we're blessed we can visit this area, only 15 minutes away in RI!

The sun is setting over a barn casting many of the hues of the light spectrum that are bouncing off the clouds.

(From my 2014 Archives)

The [Mykonos] windmills are the first thing seen when coming into the harbour of Alefkandra, as they stand on a hill overlooking the area. Most windmills face towards the North where the island's climate sources its strongest winds over the largest part of the year. There are currently 16 windmills on Mykonos of which seven are positioned on the famous landmark hill in Chora, [the island's principal village].

Most of them were built by the Venetians in the 16th century and were primarily used to mill wheat. Their architecture is similar. They all have a round shape, white colour and a pointed roof and very small windows.

Sixteen years ago, I was playing with the sun setting over the conservatory in the Botanical Gardens at Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.

No flowers or camera sensor were injured in the making of this photograph.

The lens was a Canon EF-S 10 -22mm at f14, 1/60s, one stop under-exposed, cloudy white balance set towards the amber axis, with 3 Cokin filters - Fog, neutral grey, and a graduated tobacco.

Who said that endings can't be beautiful???

This one is almost process-free (I just touched the contrast a tiny bit - didn't want to ruin the memory of it...)

A sea cave at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur has sunset light pass through it on clear evenings in the Fall and Winter months. In winter the angle of the setting sun is just right to light the cave, backlight the surf with warm dazzling light.

A BTS Skytrain passes through Bangkok's Thon Buri District at sunset. Thanks for viewing and following along with my Thai travel series. Besides Bangkok, I also spent time in the north of the country, in Chiangmai Province, where some of the rural photos I've posted were taken. Next week I'll share some photos from the tropical south of Thailand around Krabi Province. Happy weekend! Keep your wheels on the rails and keep reaching for the stars :)

The setting sun reflects off this segment of the Philadelphia skyline with the tallest skyscraper, The Comcast Technology Center in the foreground. It is the tallest building in the city of Philadelphia and also the tallest building in Pennsylvania rising to 342 meters.

There only 13 building in the USA that are taller and they are either in Manhattan or Chicago.

I lined up this Red-winged Blackbird against the setting sun, and it silhouetted him nicely in the golden light.

It's hilarious how territorial these birds are, and he was none too happy that I was in his area. That open beak was belting out its call every 15 seconds for a full five minutes :)

Each and every visit, comment and fave are most appreciated.

Thanks for your views.
