A morning photo walk with tripod and new lens. I will need to practise my long exposure near rocks and sea more. There are several beautiful bays around Kakanui including Campbell Bay, Allday Bay (surfing beach) and the outfall of the nearby river. We had a beautiful stay with cousins and a fabulous day out at the Steampunk Festival in Oamaru, plus a gorgeus fish feast at iconic Fleur's Restaurant at Moeraki, meeting the owner as well. Many thanks to cousin's Jeff and Lyn for their lovely hospitality.
Everyone who achieves success in a great venture, solves each problem as they came to it. They helped themselves. And they were helped through powers known and unknown to them at the time they set out on their voyage. They keep going regardless of the obstacles they met.

in modo suadente
a tratti anche il mare si calmava ..
era in attesa , un invito ...

she was very calm ...
he observed the sea, which on the contrary had been restless for some days for unknown reasons.
in truth he .. the sea indulged his own nature which somehow manifested itself every time she had to leave ...
maybe he wanted to attract his attention ..
he wanted that moment to never end ..
he understood that she had come this far after a long and exhausting journey just for him
they had been well together and they both knew that ..
but what he couldn't accept was the idea of losing her again ...
he perceived it to its most remote depths ..
over there among wrecks and lantern fish ..
he tempted her ... one more time ..
The foamy waves of a white never seen before .. the sudden splashes caressed her feet
in a persuasive way
at times even the sea calmed down ..
was waiting, an invitation ...
I took this picture yesterday during a thunderstorm on the north-east of Brittany. When the storm have approached the sea, she delivered a lot of lighting strikes like on this photography ...

Restlessness. New start, new people, new objectives.
Main objective reach everything i want but being AUTHENTIC.
No change, stay strong, be wild, humble and honest.
PD: Thanks Lu for the pic
I always enjoy finding these lovely and idiosyncratic birds. Their coffee grinder calls and the flitting habits make them enjoyable to encounter.
"Photographic technique is no secret and – provided the interest is there – easily assimilated. But inspiration comes from the soul and when the Muse isn’t around even the best exposure meter is very little help. In their biographies, artists like Michelangelo, da Vinci and Bach said that their most valuable technique was their ability to inspire themselves. This is true of all artists; the moment there is something to say, there becomes a way to say it." Ralph Gibson

Caloundra, Queensland. This shot on the beautiful Sunshine Coast looks from the headlands that define the start of Moreton Bay to the south. On the right is Kings Beach and beyond some of the traditional older inner area of what is now the City of Caloundra although much has been redeveloped in recent years.
The Glasshouse Mountains peak through on the horizon line with Mt. Beerwah, the highest on the right. The beach on the left was once the location of the Pumicestone Passage (northern) bar and part of Bribie Island, but following storms and cyclones and being naturally infilled, is offset now by several breaks through the island further south. It is a continuous beach for a distance and part of the "mainland". The passage runs around the back of the left beach and in front of the high rise buildings right down to near Beachmere.
This week, the Queensland Government has announced funding measures to shore up and minimise the new gaps that have appeared in Bribie Island following the ocean break through which are threatening the once quiet Golden Beach (where the high rise buildings are on far left) with becoming a surf beach and subsequent damage to coastline, road and even housing if allowed to continue. The beaches that are visible here are fronted by the northern end of Moreton Bay and the Pacific Ocean and are therefore surf beaches subject to the vagaries of tide and weather.
Much further south on the Gold Coast, major work is continuing to restore severely eroded beaches following Cyclone Alfred and other bad weather earlier this year.
Things will be quiet from me for a few days while I catch up on flickr comments and other domestic duties.
