Travel restrictions secondary to the pandemic still make it difficult to travel. The logistics of returning home with tests and mandatory deadlines have prevented me from taking the leap. As a working physician, there are patients who depend on me. If I’m stuck a few days or weeks behind a border it leaves too many people inconvenienced. So, I sift through my archives for photos that as of yet have not been published and hope for a day when things will return toward normal.

A couple dozen Northern Shovelers have been at Constitution Gardens all winter. They usually sleep till mid-morning and stay near the small island, but last week they were moving early and often, and most spread out away from the island.
I'm not sure, but the hawk (posted previously) may have made them uneasy. I doubt it was any danger to the Shovelers; it appeared to be after smaller prey.

July and August in the American Southwest is monsoon season, when warm air from the Gulf of Mexico brings afternoon thunderstorms to the region. These clouds are the morning harbingers. Later that evening thunderstorms let loose nearby, dropping rain and throwing lightning.

Banff is, to quote Forrest Gump, is like a box of Chocolates. You never know what you're going to get. The mix of clouds, snow and sun on the mountains reminded me of that as I made my way around the top of Sulfur Mountain....freezing cold. But oh so worth it.
This city has a great number of symbols, for sure one of the most iconic are its gondolas.
I've tried to capture them in their state of continuous movement, like the rest of the city!
