Hard to see in this photo, but this hawk has something in its talons, perhaps a mouse. Almost looks to big for a mouse. Best viewed large.

Red Bellied woodpecker with a paint effect/texture..........I felt the color and light went well with this effect it gives a feeling of an old oil painting. This is an adult male Red Bellied woodpecker a very territorial bird only 1 pair occupy a specific area. Common but not easy to find.

This is the first Red Squirrel i've seen. These were rife many years ago, but the Grey Squirrels finished them off. I think they're really cute.

Another couple of red squirrel images from today.

It was such a pleasure being back among the Ancient Caledonian Pine trees which is always such a great place no matter the time of year, however the colours on display at the moment make it a magnificent sight.
