The MDH is one of the top 4 drives I have ever done.

The brightly coloured one is the male and the duller one the female.

I don't know what type of berry this is. Maybe it's a wild strawberry. In any case, I am not of the habit to try to eat anything I find along the ground. This little berry caught my eye while I was out shooting and I thought that its presence in this little scene was well-lighted and quite interesting.
This shot tried to capture that little slice of wonder.

For Our Daily Challenge, "red".
I was hoping for some red in the sky, but I got yellow. So I had to settle for the red rocks and the reddish hue the nearly-sunset light produced!
Awesome light tonight, but I just wasn't in a great location!
And PS, the fisherman caught a barracuda and a shark in about 20 minutes! :-D

To my biggest delight this beautiful little friend is becoming a regular vistor in my garden. We are starting to get used to each other and I am hoping that we will have many more of these wonderful encounters

I've had a wonderful encounter with this juvenile Red Deer. After observing it for a while it certainly noticed me. Curiously it came closer to inspect my strange shutter sound. The spots around its head are flies. At this time of the year flies are pestering wildlife and wildlife photographers. Even though my lens is equipped with the VR II system it is always a challenge to keep the ISO as low as possible and yet trying to keep a reasonable shutter speed.
Another trip to Bushy Park to hopefully experience the Deer Rut.

The Red Deer is the UK's largest land mammal.
while on a frosty morning hike through a forest south of Munich i saw a red deer bull on a meadow off the trail. he was standing in the sun and possibly couldn't see me in the shade so i approached him slowly. i only got some distance shots before he got my scent and went off. a little bit disappointed i was about to turn around when a second bull showed up from the other side, this time much closer. guess we were both completely surprised. luckily my relfexes did work properly and i grabbed my camera within a second and began shooting. he only gave me that brief moment before disappearing in the forest but in this perfect morning light he really made my day!
