Not really a jungle, just the pleasant surrounds of Mt. Coot-tha Botanic Gardens in Brisbane, Australia. A good place to escape the 'grinds' of life and breathe some lovely fresh air while enjoying one's journey through this sub tropical paradise.
Grey and dismal here today. Had to go back to last year to find something to remind me of spring. :)

That afternoon it seemed that the sky was above us. The evening had all the red and black clouds began to flash lightning. I only had to go to the window and take the picture looking towards the town of San Luis. "Red rain is coming down ..."

The Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) is a passerine bird of the family Icteridae found in most of North and much of Central America. It breeds from Alaska and Newfoundland south to Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, and Guatemala, with isolated populations in western El Salvador, northwestern Honduras, and northwestern Costa Rica. It may winter as far north as Pennsylvania and British Columbia, but northern populations are generally migratory, moving south to Mexico and the southern United States. Claims have been made that it is the most abundant and best studied bird in North America. The Red-winged Blackbird is sexually dimorphic; the male is all black with a red shoulder and yellow wing bar, while the female is a nondescript dark brown. Seeds and insects make up the bulk of the Red-winged Blackbird's diet.

A peninsula forms where two green rivers meet.
On the bank families gaze upon the flowing water.
If you would like to go to the Southern shore,
an empty red boat is waiting for you.
These impossibly elegant high heeled red shoes belonged to my mum, and I think illustrate this week's challenge theme.
The Red Shoes is one of many wonderful stories written by Hans Christian Anderson - with almost as gruesome an ending of some of the tales collected by the brothers Grimm.

I am doing almost all of my red shoe photos in color, and in BW with red. I dont know that I will post each that way or not. I am trying to get some input as to which way is liked the most.
A bright red anthurium seen at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers, Golden Gate Park. Aside from the flower, I was drawn by the repetition in the shape of the leaf and flower.
The battery in my camera had just died, so my husband was kind to lend me his for a few shots. Have to get a second battery for that camera!
