Red Velvet oatmeal stout is a mind-bending beer. Like the cake that inspired it, the deep red color comes from beets, which add a rich, earthy character that complements the chocolate flavor and aroma. The foamy head of the nitro pour is the “icing”, adding a creamy smoothness to the mouthfeel. But this liquid dessert still finishes like a beer – not sweet, but just as satisfying.

A torii (鳥居) is a traditional Japanese gate commonly found at the entry to a Shinto shrine, although it can be found at Buddhist temples as well. It has two upright supports and two crossbars on the top, and is frequently painted vermilion. Some torii have tablets with writing mounted between the crossbars. Traditionally, torii are made of wood or stone. In recent times, makers have started to use steel and even stainless steel. Torii mark the transition from the sacred (the shrine) to the profane (the normal world).

I don't know what type of berry this is. Maybe it's a wild strawberry. In any case, I am not of the habit to try to eat anything I find along the ground. This little berry caught my eye while I was out shooting and I thought that its presence in this little scene was well-lighted and quite interesting.
This shot tried to capture that little slice of wonder.

For Our Daily Challenge, "red".
I was hoping for some red in the sky, but I got yellow. So I had to settle for the red rocks and the reddish hue the nearly-sunset light produced!
Awesome light tonight, but I just wasn't in a great location!
And PS, the fisherman caught a barracuda and a shark in about 20 minutes! :-D

Decided to visit a different Red Kite feeding centre at the forestry commision's Bwlch Nant yr Arian reserve. The Red Kites showed their aerial prowess by taking food off the water just as easily as if it were on land. Its one hell of a sight!

Day 2 - Reykjavik to Snaefellsnes peninsula day trip.
Snaefellsnes peninsula
The 90-kilometer long Snaefellsnes Peninsula sits just to the northwest of Reykjavik. Often called “Iceland in miniature,” the peninsula is home to many of the beautiful landscapes found elsewhere in the country. If you don’t have time to drive around the entire island, a visit to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula will give you an idea of what you would have seen if you had – moss-covered lava rocks, craggy seaside cliffs, strange rock formations made bay the sea, a giant glacier, majestic fjords, windswept beaches, tiny fishing villages and even some rolling farmlands dotted with sheet and horses to boot.
